Australia is better known for rubbish like Neighbors or Home and Away but amongst the dross there is some brilliant TV that everyone should see.
  • Rake
  • Mr Inbetween
  • Upright
  • Jack Irish (tv films then 3x series)
And maybe not quite as good but worth a watch
  • Wakefield

@Solius Simce you’ve seen the 2 best Attack on Titan and Death Note. There still one last great anime left and it could be the best. Full metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Just IMDBd Rake and Upright, looks like top recommendations. Lovely! I remember liking Summer Heights High back in the day. Has Lilley done anything decent since then?

Have been watching Schitt's Creek on Netflix. Always need something to watch with the morning coffee – and this fits the bill.

Yeah we watched that recently. It’s very much a grower and whilst it’s nowhere near top tier it’s a good watch and the behind the scenes documentary is very good and sweet.

I really enjoyed it and was sad to see it end.

I'm just starting Snowpiercer, loved the movie and so far so good.

I was surprised I enjoyed it so much. I think it's very well cast, and while the writing isn't necessarily the most mind blowing, it works pretty well. I'd probably not rewatch it but don't regret having seen it - and some episodes are particularly good.

Anyone watched Ladhood? Only 6 episodes, think it was on radio first. Not saying it's the funniest program ever but definitely worth a watch and has its moments. It definitely captured parts of my teenage years quite accurately. On Iplayer. Second series on the way.

Agree with that – on season 4 now so will watch the documentary once finished the last season.

It's brilliant, I'm waiting for all 9 episodes of season 3 to binge, have the first 6.

I watched Time on BBC the other day. Excellent. Only three episodes. Stars Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. It's an utterly depressing and infuriating look at the penal system and its proclivity of breeding criminality as opposed to genuinely rehabilitating offenders. Two excellent performances by Bean and Graham, though. And quite moving.

Some years back i started watching Bates Motel, but all of a sudden it was removed from Netflix.
Just remembered the series again last week and started searching, found some (probably) dodgy site where i could stream it, have now binged it and am in S4, and i love it!

For some reason not many have heard of this show. I'm no expert on quality and such, but i know what i like.

It's about Norman Bates (Psycho) teenage years, growing up with his mother.

It kinda reminds me a bit about Twin Peaks, which i'm a huge fan of, with a small town where everyone knows eachother, many interesting characters, and a lot of shady stuff is going on.
And also lots of attractive people in it. What is there not to like? :)

Finished Queen’s Gambit. Really enjoyed it even though I don’t have a scooby about chess!

Tempted to watch the BBC mini season called Time. Heard really good things about it so might do it after the England game tonight.

Really want to watch Mr Inbetween. Hoping it becomes available on Sky Atlantic or on Netflix/Amazon Prime at some point in the future.

Its great. Bleak, but great. I could happily have watched 10 episodes rather than just the 3

Feet up at home.
Don't know how many people have seen it but I'm rewatching Fringe at the moment. Walter is one of the best characters ever.

I recommend Rake, plowed through the first 3 seasons (the Australian original). Very entertaining. 2 more seasons to go.

I stumbled across a series on Netflix as it started auto playing the trailer and I thought I'd give it a try. It's called Start Up and features Martin Freeman.

Turns out it's actually a cracking little series. Surprised I've never heard anybody mention it before, bit of a hidden gem. If you read an overview of what it's about then it might sound a bit 'meh' but there's a lot more to it than what is on the face of it and it's an enjoyable watch. I've just started the second series now.
I binged watched this over the last couple of weeks. Excellent show. Season 3 is on amazon prime.

Has anyone seen Treadstone (the Bourne spin-off)? Bourne Identity is one of my favourite movies, but I'm wondering if 10 50-minute episodes are worth it..

I loved it. Last season dipper very very slightly maybe but nailed the end, which is rare.
