Abhorrent views? ya absolute softie.Because they host the kind of abhorrent views posted in the OP?
So much for not being bitter and hostile towards fellow caftard angels.Abhorrent views? ya absolute softie.
I dunno, for my money there's a difference between how you've carried yourself throughout this thread and me calling you an absolute softie cos you think the OP shared some abhorrent views (he didn't) but fair dos.So much for not being bitter and hostile towards fellow caftard angels.
Of course. There's no shortage of hypocrisy in this thread either.I dunno, for my money there's a difference between how you've carried yourself throughout this thread and me calling you an absolute softie cos you think the OP shared some abhorrent views (he didn't) but fair dos.
Crack on by all means mate. You seem to be having a whale of a time.Of course. There's no shortage of hypocrisy in this thread either.
This has to be the most ironic self-own you're ever going to see from the OP.
You've literally posted a video from Sky Sports and then go blaming the 'influencers'. All that's happening here is Sky replacing sensationalist content from moronic pundits and ex-players with other personalities, whatever you think about them (Rory is fun to watch but his football opinions are definitely suspect).
Posts like these are a disgrace.Brexit boomers complaining about social media while being hopeless human beings in life. What else is new.
How does that translate into football discourses being ruined ?I wouldn’t say it did but I think that there is definitely something to be said with the platform and impression that football ‘influencers’ are starting to make in the industry. I agree that many pundits in the industry are poor but do think that most of them are involved in other things away from football so they don’t live and breathe it 24/7. They will do a radio show or tv show here and there but with many influencers they’re banging out videos, tweets and other forms of media consistently.
Because a lot of the influencers post deliberately provocative and controversial tripe that gets clicked, shared and saturates social media. How does that translate into football discourses being ruined ?
The panel are paid to do a job and voice an opinion in a public forum with colossal reach that influences public discourse.Forum: Poster asks a question people talk about it
Whatsapp Groups: Friend throws something out there people discuss it
Producer: Asks a question, panel discusses it.
Where's the difference.
The irony here is unmatched.
Yeah but I think there are ways to avoid all that noise and just select what you wanna follow in terms of content. Some of them actually put in a lot more impressive than classic big broadcastersBecause a lot of the influencers post deliberately provocative and controversial tripe that gets clicked, shared and saturates social media.
I don’t disagree that some new wave media does, but I also think there is a difference between that new wave media and influencers.Yeah but I think there are ways to avoid all that noise and just select what you wanna follow in terms of content. Are influencer rights hugely important to you or something? Abhorrent ffsBecause they host the kind of abhorrent views posted in the OP?
Completely agree with you on this one. I also enjoy Toffee TV from time to time, it’s the only reason I might want Everton to stay upI don’t think the ‘sensationalist’ stuff from pundits is as bad or as widespread as influencers. Perhaps I’m in the minority there but I think that the discourse and clickbait stuff they do is more prevalent. I also think there is a difference between new wave media and football influencers. There are a lot of YouTube people I like and that say good stuff. The lads at ToffeeTv I watch quite regularly for example and they are generally very sensible people. Unfortunately sky are now clinging onto getting people like Jennings, Thogden, Robbie from AFTV etc., who say deliberately biased and provocative things at a consistency that appears more saturated than previously.
They're ail influencers basically, some produce good content and others is pure trashI don’t disagree that some new wave media does, but I also think there is a difference between that new wave media and influencers.
Well, we basically agree (not surprised, you're one of the most sensible posters on here).I don’t think the ‘sensationalist’ stuff from pundits is as bad or as widespread as influencers. Nah I'd rather be bitter and jealous and condemn them for talking about a topic they are interested in. How fecking dare they! Are influencer rights hugely important to you or something?
I mean if someone finds the level of discourse shit they can point it out. Holding and presenting an opinion is pretty much what we all do here (and in general). Why is the OP bitter and jealous though? Did he have aspersions of being on the telly or something?Nah I'd rather be bitter and jealous and condemn them for talking about a topic they are interested in. How fecking dare they!
Yeah. All power to them for getting there, I just think it’s setting a bad trend for future football punditry. Some will agree, some won’t. That’s life.I mean if someone finds the level of discourse shit they can point it out. Holding and presenting an opinion is pretty much what we all do here (and in general). The words of an extremely bitter and jealous man. psycheYeah. All power to them for getting there, I just think it’s setting a bad trend for future football punditry. Some will agree, some won’t. That’s life.
Absolutely this. I mean, what's the point of watching some random talking about something they don't really know much about? As a grumpy old person, seeing these talentless nobodies turning up on actual proper televised football coverage is bewildering.
Obviously I get that kids and thickos enjoy watching them on YouTube so there's an obvious audience there.
The moment Gary Lineker utters the words "and we're going over to Chunks who is with Sir Alex Ferguson" is the moment football coverage has jumped the shark.
Except the thread literally refers to influencers isolating people based on them opting for a specific mode of communication with their audience. If you are gonna generalize and be condescending towards a bunch of people because they don't make the same choices as you and decide to use newer means while basically still end up doing the exact same thing that is talking about a certain topic then be prepared to be called out for spreading elitism and toxicity.I mean if someone finds the level of discourse shit they can point it out. Holding and presenting an opinion is pretty much what we all do here (and in general). Why is the OP bitter and jealous though? Did he have aspersions of being on the telly or something?
What's the point of reading a random bloke's post on an internet forum about something they don't really know much about?Absolutely this. I mean, what's the point of watching some random talking about something they don't really know much about?
For starters, we're actually interacting with each other. What's the point of reading a random bloke's post on an internet forum about something they don't really know much about?
You can interact with anyone hosting a video. It's 2023 ffs. And how does that criteria change everything? Again just because it's something that you do and others don't.For starters, we're actually interacting with each other.
Yeah, and for a small donation FutbullBroSiuu will read out your comment liveYou can interact with anyone hosting a video. It's 2023 ffs. And how does that criteria change everything? Again just because it's something that you do and others don't.
Aaand there's the jealousy.Yeah, and for a small donation FutbullBroSiuu will read out your comment live
Hardly.Aaand there's the jealousy.
As a thicko who (sometimes) enjoys watching them on YouTube, I still don't want to see them on sky. It's pathetic that sky seem to be trying to emulate them. Even Keane, Neville and Souness seem to be egged on into going on rants and shouting matches for clicks. As a grumpy old person, seeing these talentless nobodies turning up on actual proper televised football coverage is bewildering.

They've no influence on football but I do think Sky Sports is trying to copy them in their football coverage. Everything's "HEATED" and the pundits seem to be encouraged to rant and shout. How do you know this for sure?
They have little to no affect on what actually goes on in the football industry it's the same way pundits don't really affect anything either. No one in the actual football industry gives a feck.
They have been doing that “heated” thing for yearsThey've no influence on football but I do think Sky Sports is trying to copy them in their football coverage. Everything's "HEATED" and the pundits seem to be encouraged to rant and shout.
True, I'd say the YouTubers have naturally copied what they've been watching for yearsThey have been doing that “heated” thing for years
The last 2 or 3 years it seems to have gotten worse. It's like they've seen AFTV and gone for conflict. Keane being on all the time to demand United players kick people after a defeat, Carragher and Neville having stupid Liverpool v United arguments, Souness acting like an angry drunk uncle. Its a load of men in their 50s and 60s acting like 24 year old youtubers. They have been doing that “heated” thing for years
