Makes sense. Fairly average player.

Palace would be a good move though, perhaps they are selling Bolasie as rumoured.

He seems a genuinely nice guy and gives everything but I don't think he has ever been up to standard. His stats just don't justify his wages.

Young turned things around a bit after an awful year or two but he's average really. Hopefully by this time next year Young, Depay, Fellaini and Rooney are all out of the club.

I would weirdly miss him, even though I'm not a big fan of his on the pitch. He's endearing and always puts a shift in.

Probably is the right time to move on now and get guaranteed 1st team football

Spent 5 years with Utd, I think he was a decent signing looking back. Certainly gave his all and scored a couple of great goals.

His first season was impressive but became a more of a squad/utility player after that. Even had some good outings at left back.

He's probably on decent wages here, no surprise he's gone, he must be about 6th choice winger here.

He was okay for us, at times, but really he's another mistake that contributed to our inevitable decline. The decline that began when we started looking for value in the market instead of going after the very best and led to us accumulating a lot of mediocre players, with Young being one of the more expensive amongst them. £120k a week for him, seriously? No wonder we find it difficult to ship out our deadwood.

Will miss him if he goes. Has been a good servant during his time here, despite taking some serious shit from opposition fans as well as our own.

I wonder what will be the fee we get for him. No more than 8m i reckon
We always do badly when it comes to selling players

But at age 31 he still has a good 3 or so years. I'd be expecting minimum 8m but possibly up to 12m

Is there actually any reliable source reporting this or just a random picture of him on a train with some bloke?

& if he was off for talks would he really just pop down on the train?

He's on a pretty big contract so it's good to get him off the books by now. He's also been a quite good servant for the club - so he'll leave with only good wishes.

Young gets a lot of criticism on here, sometimes justified, sometimes not.

I feel he is still a good squad player to have and clearly loves playing for United.

That is a shame, he is a good squad player. Very reliable as opposed to Depay.

If it goes by our history then i would say around 1.5m, look what we got for Nani and Hernandez last summer

Gets a lot of criticism but he's been a decent player for us. Seems to have a good attitude, works hard and shows the odd piece of quality. Has also played LB, RB, LM, RM and Striker for us. Definitely the right move for all parties though

I'm gonna miss him. He gave 100% for this club even though he wasn't good enough to start most of the time.

Also seem like a great person, staying for fans, talking and signing autographs.

They have Zaha, Bolasie, Townsend and Puncheon. Must be a bollocks rumour.

Those of you saying it would be a good signing for them..it really wouldn't. They need a striker.

Would be good news for Memphis, who looks like he'll get another season to prove himself. I thought Memphis would be sold and Young kept personally. But Mourinho would be making the correct decision if Young is the one who goes

He did well for the club and was a pro when moved around by LVG. Good luck to him if he does go.

He could be a starter for quite a lot of PL teams so it makes sense from a football perspective. If it also means that we can have a young player in his place, all good

I'm not sure how true this is unless Palace are selling Bolasie - as rumours stated Everton were in for him. If it is true though, it would be a good deal for all parties. Palace get a good winger who would do well for them, Young most likely gets regular football and we clear his wages from our books, especially as it looks like he won't play much this year.

Palace fans hates him because of his diving. But they love Andy Johnson. They don't deserve Ashley.

At 30 it makes no sense waiting on the bench forever.

That's a shame, he put his all in every game he played for us. Glad he managed to turn his career around with LVG. Probably best if he wants regular football though.

Good luck Ash!

If true I am glad. He's been a great servant for the club but he's just plain average.

I was critical of him the first 2-3 years he was here but I've gotten to like his willingness and ability to take defenders on. Would actually hate to see him go, he can be a valuable backup who plays different positions, but if he wants regular football it might be the best for him.
