@Niall I’ve been getting this quite frequently on Chrome on iOS. Bottom part of the page doesn’t load but I can scroll fine. It’s like it’s just loaded in a smaller window or something. Sometimes it’s ok but more often than not seems to be an issue.

Unsure if it’s a chrome thing or something with the site but thought I’d flag.

Not sure if this is the right thread, how can I know if my threadban is temporary or permanent? Any way to see it in my profile?

Has someone messed with font size on mobile android? It feels like it's zoomed in 120%.

It happens on quite a few threads, but when I click on a thread (when I'm on the mob) the page doesn't go to the newest post - well it does for a few seconds, then the page jumps around and goes to an older post, so you have to scroll to get to the new part of the conversation.

Not sure why it's happening but does anyone know how to fix?

It's because tweets are loading in slowly since Elon improved it, so the page renders and then as the tweets load in the page jumps down.

I think there's a problem with quoting people. Could someone do an Elon and "look into it"?

Out of curiosity, does the forum have a list of terms or phrases for which searches are prohibited?

No. As far as I know the search function does not have any such restrictions.

Some words are censored in the system and as such (I assume) won't be searchable, and there is no public list. You will just get the Oops message.

Yeah the tweets used to load instantly but since the X links came into place on the app, some of the tweets take a while to render which causes the jumping around.
This is as bad as ever, and with tweets being so prolific it basically means every thread you click into jumps back a dozen posts and you have to scroll around to find new content.

I’m assuming this is a Musk caused problem? Any talk in the wider forumsphere on potential fixes on the horizon?

I see "Yandex" is the top search engine robot viewing the site currently.

"Yandex" refers to a Russian multinational corporation specialising in Internet-related products and services. It's most well-known for its search engine, which is a significant competitor to Google in Russia.

Why would the Russian bot be much more prominent than say, Google or Bing?

Looking for the answers...
Is the search function playing up?

Trying to search for the watch thread in the General and even if I type in “watches” in the search (titles only) - it doesn’t come up but every other variation of “xyz player watch” etc comes up.

I thought that was just how it rolled. I've always found it an absolute disaster.

Feet up at home.
More of a rule question here. Was granted access recently to the Newbies forum for the excellent game of WW we had. Should this now be gone and I shouldn't see these?

See some posts worth replying to but not sure if I should be allowed.

Ta.

Could the mods explain why the sack/keep ETH poll keeps getting closed? We finished bottom of an easy CL group, we're nowhere near top 4, we have a negative GD, play terrible football and have lost 16 games at the start of March.

Such a pointlessly shit hill to die on. Just let the posters vote.

Because it was a parallel thread to the ETH one. Keep it all in one thread. The poll was also useless given then it was little more than futile exercise in recency bias.

When I try to cue videos to a specific time (share, start at, copy, paste) it just returns a blank youtube video. Is it impossible to cue a video here or am I doing something wrong?

Edit:
Never mind. Found out an answer.

Instead of doing the share/choose time/copy/paste that ends up with you getting:

BUnchOFLEtteRs&t=300

you can just replace the & with a ? giving you:

BUnchOFLEtteRs?t=300

For the rest of your life you'll watch every thread you post in.

If you click on your name and go to Preferences, are these unticked?

They are unticked. And bow it is working as intended. Sorry for the unnecessary inconvenience.
