They could've combined the Ricky Lambert and Balotelli fees and bought a very good striker in the Mandzukic veign. A massive cockup from Brentan.
He had the option to go to the La Liga winners and CL runners up, why would he choose Liverpool?

He never actually said that - he said in the "Mandzukic veign"

It was too late in the window, it was Balotelli or nobody.
It hasn't worked out.

It's interesting reading the posts from first few pages. It's like people never watched him before and just decided he's good at everything but his behaviour is the only thing stopping him from becoming world class player. One guy even argued with me when I said they'll lose pace up front with Balotelli replacing Suarez.

I think the 'taming' of Suarez went to Brentan's head and he saw himself as some kind of social worker. Maybe Ravel Morison is next?

What you mean like every single one of his managers letting him indulge in his quest to behave like a complete twat at every available opportunity.

It's just Mario being Mario! He scores the odd goal, heaven forbid we try and get him to behave in a proffesional manner.
Up until the point we can't be bothered with his antics then kick him out the door.

Now all that's left is arrogant, aggressive under performing mess of a player.

all that's happened through his career is his maniac destructive antics being praised to high heaven and plastered across the media as something to celebrate.
It's no wonder his work ethic and attitude now stink.

That sounds more like a criticism of the media than anything else, because he's been disciplined by each of his clubs and managers for inappropriate behaviour of that ilk. They certainly weren't the ones praising it in any case.

Its a criticism of everybody concerned.
Thats what managers and agents and public relation and press officers are there for.

If he had been looked after correctly coming up through his career he would be a lot better than he is now, he isnt the the only player it has ever applied to, lets not pretend its never been said about anyone else before.

It seems like you're criticising the managers for something they've done already, though. Rodgers in particular has consistently said that Balotelli needs to change his behaviour on and off the pitch. Some players just self-destruct regardless of who manages them.

Looking over my shoulder.
If you look at anyone's best performances, you could call them a great talent. Balotelli has a good shot and can take a mean penalty. That's about it.

His potential and talent is overstated. He's not that good. Never has been. But I suppose "Great talent but dodgy attitude" makes for a better story.
Bebe makes one helluva highlight reel actually. He is also tall, strong, fast with a terrific long shot, when it hits the target. Looking at the evidence, I'm inclined to agree with you. He is better than what he is showing at Liverpool though.

He's the most moronic footballer I've probably ever seen. Never understand how some people can like the immature cretin.

Because hes a "character" and the game is apparently lacking them...

I'd hate it if we had a player like him at the club, if he actually backed it up with performances fair enough but this guy - jeez

It's no wonder his career has gone down the shitter. You don't see winners doing the stupid stuff he does.

What kind of Liverpool player chasing the top 4 would be happy about the team immediately above them taking the lead? Moronic.

Be interesting to see what happens next season with him. Can't image Pool are too happy with the signing but I can't see there being too many takers.

I've never seen a players reputation and perceived ability enhanced like his just cos he's enigmatic and a 'personality'. He was never even that good for City and all he is, is a specialist penalty taker and occasionally decent free-kick taker. Most overrated footballer of recent history.

He'll go to some little Italian club and become a **** hero there. Acting like a kid all the time and scoring the occasional goal to keep the club's fans happy.

Never understood the "love in" for this tool, and his antics.

Always was a massively indulged and overrated gobshite.

He might have some talent, but his poor attitude will see to him probably never reaching his potential.

It would be a shame if he left Liverpool. I believed he would be a terrible signing but I didn't think he would have this little impact. I was thinking he would get around 10 goals(in open play) and be a huge distraction on the pitch. I hoped he would produce the odd bit of good play and Liverpool convince themselves they could get the best out of him. He has done nothing for them football wise which is a pity because Liverpool are the sort of football club who would indulge the idiot. Think he will be moved on in the summer. I cant see anybody buying him but Liverpools only choice is to loan him out and pay most of his wages. It's too much to hope for that they will keep him.

Why is he such an idiot? I mean, surely he realises this is his last chance to do anything of note at a decent club? Any other player would probably shut-up for a few months and give it a decent crack, but this guy is just bizarrely stupid.

Because if he wasn't one there wouldn't be any fuss around him. A nothing footballer really, only good in 1 in 100 matches who's media favourite due to his silliness and the fact that he's producing first pages for them.

His Twitter is like his form on the pitch. He shoots, he misses, a shadow of his former self, desperately trying to stay relevant.

My mate was at the presser last weekend and said Rodgers was slagging off Balo for his tweets once the cameras stopped rolling.

He genuinely seems to dislike him, such a bizarre signing.

I'm of the notion that Balotelli is no where near as talented as people like to think he is and he's never going to fulfill this 'World Class' potential he apparently has. His next move will be to a mid-table team which will be his stepping stone to becoming the next Freddy Adu.

Lets check out some quotes surrounding the enigma that is Mario.

"And don't rush back into your house to grab a suitcase full of cash, okay!?" What a policeman said to Mario after being called to his place due to fireworks being set off in the bathroom

"I was bored"
Balotelli's official excuse for throwing darts out of a first floor window at City's youth players

"If you played with me 10 years ago, I give to you every day maybe one punch in your head!" Mancini at the end of his tether
"He couldn't do that. I do Thai kick-boxing" Balotelli's response

"Picking Mario Balotelli" Conte when asked if he had any regrets about Italy's poor World Cup campaign

"We are waiting for the moment he becomes aware of his talent" Mancini, shortly before selling Mario to AC Milan

"Mario is at risk of following the same path as Adriano. I hope that he wakes up one morning and realises that he is wasting everything." Mancini on Balotelli's performance at Liverpool so far

Can you blame him ? I would hate him too if I was his manager. Balotelli is probably such a waste of time , especially if the signing was handed to you by a 'transfer committee'. I mean this poor bloke was hoping to get Sanchez instead.
