I think Boehly is going to destroy Chelsea FC. From a scattergun transfer window of weird signings and no real planning, just getting what other teams are after.

To now sacking Tuchel after a few bad results.

Seems very volatile and not a good sign for the future.

This is just business as usual for Chelsea isn’t it?

I don’t think a few months is enough evidence, but because it is an outcome I would enjoy, I am going to have to agree.

I sure hope he does and he's started well on that end.

So shrewd move then. What better way to endear yourself to Chelsea fans than respecting and following the club’s traditions.
My thoughts exactly, they’re probably all holding their cups of coffee in their hands, eyes shut, deep exhale and “ahhhhhhh, we’re back”

Fingers crossed. They started the oil money hostile takeover of the Premier League.
Good residence.

Here you go mr Tuchel, here’s £280m to spend, tell me who you want us to buy?

less than a week later

thanks for your help mr Tuchel but it’s not going to work out.

hardly a successful blueprint for any sports team/franchise/business is it ?

objectively speaking of course - still loads of different ways this could pan out

Well he's a co-owner of the Lakers and the Dodgers which are storied and winning clubs (specially the former) but they were that before he showed up too. I don't think he has quite the same level of control there as he has in Chelsea where his ownership stake is larger.

Yeah. The second I saw that Matt Law article about Boehly wanting to be involved and bounce ideas off the coach as their new culture... That's when you know they're fecked. Football is very much a "know your place" sort of thing. Boehly seems excited and eager and all, but he's clueless and he's blown 280m on players who don't really make them better bar Sterling. Whoever they get as manager, if the owners want to have that much control on football side, they'll be a bit fecked long term. Might have good years here and there, but it never works when the owner wants to be the center of attention.

He appears to be very hands on. Was just reading that Tuchel and him began to fall out because Tuchel did not want to sign Ronaldo. He could be a problem for Chelsea definitely.

I think even for Chelsea it was a precipitated decision to sack Tuchel. Only time will tell, at the moment is not looking good with all that money spent and how disjoint the team looks.

But we've seen how Chelsea reacts at a change of manager, any on the rumored managers Potter, Poch or Zidane would have a good squad to work with.

There was an interesting piece of info in UWS an issue or two ago about Boehly.

Sourced from agents who’d dealt with him over the summer

He’ll probably try sign him again in January.

It’s amazing that Ronaldo is causing problems and divisions even at clubs he has nothing to do with

Bit early to say. Yes their window has been strange and this is a hasty decision but he hasn't had long in the role to familiarize himself with the inner workings of the sport or apppoint a footballing hierachy.

There's every chance that with time and experience to becomes a better owner himself and surrounds himself with good advisors.

I think Tuchel's sacking is a no biggie. If it's not results-based decision but more of a mismatch of vision and ideology, then all good.

Not certain that most of the transfers were Tuchel's requests - Chelsea has mostly bought players from club, not manager's shortlist. Sarri and Conte complained about it.

And it was known that Tuchel is a complex personality with having proven track record of messing relationships up with the board - it happened in Dortmund and in PSG.

Actually this is a very alarming note for his next clubs - why hire a manager who has this past? Okay, he delivered a CL but it was more of a fluke, because it's the only title he won with Chelsea (Supercup and CWC are not real titles, they are meant to be celebrated by Spurs-like teams). Chances that he'll deliver another CL is just too low and he is currently in a lower level than Mourinho is (although they are very similar personalities) as Mourinho has won lots of trophies.

I'd like to see Poch, not Potter as their new manager as Potter has nice pace with Brighton currently and having a superb chance to become a club legend there, if he finishes in Euro spots this season. But sure thing, he can be flattered by CL, by these stars and a new challenge, although I feel it's 60-40 that he will go to Chelsea.

Poch there seems more suitable and I'd like to see what he can do with that team.

Disagree with opening post. Apparently the signings made were decided by the club not tuchel so they knew he was a goner.

Chelsea have a vision for a more collaborative approach and developing players. Neither of which tuchel was doing according to bbc.

If the owner does carry on with the abramovich approach to managers they will carry on being successful. Works for them. They have won alot more in the past decade than we have.

He seems like a complete idiot. Sacked Petr Chech and instead of getting a Director of Football seems to want to do that job himself, despite having less knowledge of football than my 4 year old.
Chelsea fans should be worried. Neville's comparisson to Woodward seems correct so far.

Literally no difference from the last regime.

They just get lucky once in a while.

Buying lukaku last year was a sackable offence in itself. Whoever the feck sanctioned that for a record fee...

Not that anyone gives a toss about that scummy club anyways. Just full of plastics.

I was just thinking how refreshing it was to see an owner who just dumped the manager when results weren't good enough.

Not sure how much more sterling, koulibally and Aubameyang have to develop but take a lot of your other points

Didn't go for a glitzy name and went for Potter who a good portion of us in this forum would have loved as our manager. It looks like a good decision if he can get Potter and give him time.

They’re talking to Zidane and Poch as well.
