Won’t happen, unfortunately. He’s had his tonsils removed and is out for the end of the season.
Ah! :( Hadn't actually checked on his condition or likelihood to return. Most I know about tonsils is get some ice cream down your throat and you're good to go, which probably isn't the advice our medical staff are doling out .

Good finish for the goal.
Should have hit the target with the second attempt.

Really interested to see how hes used next season.

Maybe there is a reason he loses possession alot.

Teams know to target Bruno knowing he is the main creator.

Basically yeah, he is also playing in a terribly coached team with no confidence where he often gets passed the ball from a full back and expected to create something out of basically nothing. I see some of the comments in this thread and whilst I agree he has not had a good season, he is a mile away from our biggest problem. The only major problem I see with Bruno is the same problem I see with most number 10's, I think starting with a 10 is just asking to be dominated in midfield.

There are some stats, like this one, that have to be questioned.

Not because of who comes out on top but because "while under pressure" is quite subjective.

I stuggle to believe that could be accurately measured or that it's of any particular use really.

Because except him, we don't have any outlet in the midfield that take down pressure from him

This is it, we have one player that every team can target, press Bruno is the way.

Yeah its almost give the bell to Bruno and hope for something special. It works when you have runners and we all know Bruno can find the ball, this season we have had issues in people running in behind.

I agree, he is not the biggest problem like people think, if we have 2 capable midfielders who are press resistant and can pass, Bruno will get better.

What with these people, Bruno is a creator and goal getter, the only stats we shouldve been interested on are assist, goal, and chances created NOT some silly like passing completion rates or bs like that. ARE WE GOING TO TURN BRUNO INTO POGBA v.2 where we expect him to do everything? seriously CAF is worst place to expect support. As we have seen against Brentford Bruno is capable of receiving and making passes from deep and he's more than capable of working together with another technically sound player as long as that player is working as hard as him.LOOK at his midfield partners, painfully average McT, headless chicken Fred, Lazy Pogba, Donny who? and Ancient Matic, yet somehow you expect him to have better passing stats?:lol::lol::lol:

Yep, thats right. He passes backwards which is why he also has been one of our best creators.

Passing backwards creating.
Creator also means feck all to be honest. Passes the ball to Greenwood who takes a shot on the corner of the box that goes into the stands, chance created..
Assists is a stat that says something. Chances created not. Bruno in most matches is either passing the ball backwards or going for Holywood passes.
He should sit down and watch how Mata played as 10 against Brenford, maybe he could learn something.

If creator means feck all, so does assist, pass the ball to Ronaldo and hits a 30 yard screamer... assist.

That's funny that he only passes backwards or holywood passes.

So a player that has created alot of chances, hes played 3rd most progressive passes in the PL this season behind Trent and Cancelo who are full backs only passes backwards. Nice narrative with 0 evidence.

Don't make up things which aren't true.

It means that he passes to players that are in a position to shoot or in space to then them make the final pass, assist; sees runs, etc. It's one of those stats that are more difficult to asses. Scholes did this a lot without actually being the assist maker.

I know that Bruno’s contract extension was met with a little mixed reception due to the fact we’re renewing contracts when we were in manager limbo at the time, but I wonder if ETH has already said that he likes Bruno a lot in the interviewing process and therefore they just went ahead with the extension.

Brighton 4:0 Man Utd
Another real captain’s performance.

Why do people keep throwing out stats as some desperate attempt to show he is still playing well. He has been shambolic for a good 3/4 of the season

Another real captain’s performance.

Only so much you can do as a creative player when the team performs like that.

Bruno was about the only one who at least maintained some kind of personal standard today.

I don't know what game you were watching. He was shit this game.

In fact, he's been crap the whole season. 10 goals, 13 assists, most chances created in the epl might sound good on paper, but it doesn't say how destructive he's been to our structure/play, how non-influential he's been in most games, how inconsinstent his passing is, how awful his finishing has been. And most importantly, how weak-minded he is, never seen such a whiny captain for United in my entire life

I'm not saying he was good but I thought his basics were ok. Put it this way he's played worse than that.

He's certainly nownere near the worst today so it's odd to see some going to his thread first.

He was shit today, didn't do shit, offensively or defensively.

Worryingly bad these days. Although our CMs are our biggest point of concern.

Going to regret his big contract.

So easy to play against, just pressure him and he'll dive eighty yards from your goal, disrupting his own teams rhythm or just wait for him to play a blind pass.

i still insist he’ll go back to his best once we have/if we ever have a proper CM due behind him. Currently, we have no midfield.

He gets a second chance purely because of the fact for a season and a half he literally carried us - but patience will wear thin if this continues under the new manager.

It almost seems like it's become too big for him, even though the behemoth the club once was is diminishing day by day.

Terrible season? No chance. He’s only second to Trent Arnold for chances created and behind Plodri and Romeu for “passes under pressure”.

We have the same exact same players in midfield as when he was playing well. Team has just given up so the levels of effort and energy are way down and his faults are gonna stick out more because of it.

He's been bad but went to a whole new level after that contract.

it is different. It’s all good when everyone is at their best. As you said, the team has given up and here is when weaknesses start to show. With Paul Pogba’s sever drop in form/injuries, the midfield went down the drain.

When I see him hoof the ball forward into random space like the u11. I have to wonder what most of these fans on here are actually watching.

He's not deluded at least for accepting his poor performance unlike some other players who said they are in XI because they played well or we need your support not critics.

He is so crap. Cant believe we gave him a massive pay rise. He should be playing for Aston Villa, not us.
Crap? He made it into the Fifa 22 team of the season...

Shows what we know.

Lad's been consistent at least. Shame it's a consistent 4/10 since January/February. EtH will need to work hard on this "free spirit" - there's a player in there who just might transcend the Stevie Me complex if he will accept being reigned in and focus on the ball instead of whining.

He needs to watch Grealish, Verratti, Arthur and De Jong on how to properly win a foul.

They're experts by doing two things and just generally knowing how to position their body inbetween the ball and opponent. One being how they purposefully leave a trailing leg knowing the player will run into it and trip. The other being waiting for contact but instead of going down, you just keep the ball on the other side whilst the player niggles away and, even if he eventually wins it, the ref will think he's had too many niggles and blow.

Bruno doesn't like contact at all which is why his dives are so easy to see through. He doesn't initiate a proper collision and doesn't want to be niggled at. He's already diving when he sees an oncoming player instead of waiting for contact.
