Whatever the odds, hope Chelsea find a way to get through. Mostly because I think it helps reduce some of the question marks of how good is the PL.

Know what you mean about the PL talk, fed up with people going on about 4 teams in the Europa cup to make a debate. No one usually cares about that competition but now Mourinho is in Spain and changing Real's bad fortunes in Europe, added to the usual of Barca doing well, it sounds good for people to say 6 Spanish teams in Europe, they must be the best. I don't think they are myself. Its the same old, same old as always with Europe just about.

Still, can't bring myself to want Chelsea FC, Terry, Lampard, Drogba and Torres to make a final where they might lift old big ears. Wanting them to win the Fa cup just so the dippers don't is bad enough.

In all the years I've watched football I don't subscribe to the "the ref cost us the game" etc it generally does even out but that match is an exception for me - they had ten years bad luck with that Norwegian ref.

And in recent times Barca do seem to have the 'eye of the Ref Lord' watching over them so I wont shed any tears if they get a couple of 'diabolicals'

I think, it's not as much as wanting Chelsea to win as wanting Barca to lose. Many MU fans resent the Catalan side for beating their club in two recent CL finals.

Even if Chelsea somehow manage to get past Barca, the same people won't want them to win the final.

Main reason I don't want Chelsea to win the final is because I don't like the idea of a sugardaddy deciding that it would be fun to BUY the most coveted trophies with cash. If Chelsea somehow had managed to get themselves in this position without the help of billions poured in by somebody like Abramovich, then I would be rooting for them to win it.

It's the same reason why City winning the champions league would just be wrong, of course that's not the only reason, but you get the point.

But Chelsea getting past Barca gives them a 50/50 chance of winning it, possibly even being the favourites after knocking out Barcelona. Look what it done for Inter a few years ago. So yeah I reckon if Chelsea do somehow overcome them they will go on to win it, and as a United fan I wouldn't want that at all.

Barcelona outplayed us twice, and there is nothing to be ashamed of from it.

Even though Barca annoy me, Chelsea winning the CL isn't a good thing for football, same as if City were to buy their way to winning it. However sometimes unexpected things happen in games such as this, so I wouldn't be wholly unsurprised if Chelsea were to come through this although I don't want them to.

They're a recognized 'brand' now - even if he pisses off, there will be a new sugar daddy. They've been at this for a decade - proof that money alone can't buy you the CL. You might win the domestic league(as they did very quickly), but when it comes to conquering Europe, you need a bit more.

I don't think Chelsea winning it now, will be the same as City winning it next year(they are a proper team now, lots of those players have been at the club for years and years, this isn't just a bunch of guys put together over the summer prancing their way to a CL SF/Final). As I said, I don't want them to win, United only have 3, and I don't want other English clubs catching up

I can see it happening. I just don't know where people are seeing signs of chelsea doing well against barca. At best they'll do an arsenal and get a decent result at home and get smashed away from home. They're simply not good enough.

I'm pulling for Chelsea cause of Ivanovic of course, but I just don't see how they can win this over two legs. Especially if they play Kalou and Lampard. Lampard will not survive this type of game.

I think he will start with Drogba, but if he doesn't get service I don't see him doing much. Torres would worry Pique/Puyol more IMO.

They have a chance, and anything is possible but Barca are just ridiculous (especially over 2 legs).

If anything it would be nice to see another one of Ivanovic's inch punch sledgehammer blows on Busquets. That would be nice.

Pretty crap argument saying that time alone can make it alright for Chelsea to be winning CLs. They have partially contributed to one of the worst developments in the football economy with the wage distortions and resulting player power that now exists in the game. I'll probably get criticized for what I'm about to say but I honestly find it really pathetic to use that as a reason to be against Barca.In the two finals, it ain't like they cheated their way to victory, they convincingly out played us twice.
I have no problems with that personally, I'd understand backing up a plastic side like Chelsea if Barca resorted to diving and cheating in the two finals but they didn't.

Yup. That's how I feel too. Also dislike Chelsea more than almost "any other English team" because of the whole sugar daddy thing. And John Terry.

Chelsea against Madrid might leave me slightly more conflicted, as the scale of Madrid's spending makes me want them to lose every time they play. I'd still be rooting for the Spanish team though.

I think Chelsea stand a chance.

The old guard has been living for the day they get their revenge for the 2009 semi-final exit, as well as trying to give it their all in their last ever shout for a European Cup trophy. Lampard, Terry, Cole, Cech, Drogba will be fired up.

Chelsea has also got more defensive stability than in 2009 when they played the first leg with Bosingwa at left-back due to the various injuries going.

Over two legs everything is possible I think

There are many reasons (some of which I'd apply to myself at the moment). One being their current level and how it directly affects the chances of United being successful in Europe in the future. Had they gone out against Chelsea in 09 we'd have a had a better shot at winning the competition. It's hardly as if the two teams are in complete isolation of each other.

Then there is the cheating aspect which doesn't have to have anything to do with the two finals but it exists in epic quantities, as it does with Madrid.

Personally, I want Barca to drop off a few notches from their current ridiculous level. The cheating is irritating but the former is a more relevant factor for me.

Having said that, I would still want them to beat (read smash) Chelsea. I think the whole sugar daddy concept is football's biggest poison and for them to achieve the one biggest aim they had 8 years back would be a bit sickening. For all they annoy me, Barcelona are a good club that have worked hard for their success. Their status in the world game wasn't handed to them on a plate.

Also, I'd like us to be the king of our own domain, at least. Your most relevant environment is your closest one.
