It really isn't, give a rest with the top red crap. Your not a better fan than any of the rest of us. If anything judging by this thread your one of the worst.
United is an exclusive club for real fans only? What are you talking about? We're the biggest club on the planet with 1 billion fans apparently. You do realise that our revenue is as high as it is because these fans spend money on things related to the club? They probably spend more than most of us do but they're not real fans and can't be part of this exclusive fan club?

All clubs want to win. All clubs would happily spend billions to do it. Only a select few clubs will ever have the means. Those select few clubs will forever be despised and vilified and accused of buying success. We're very close to becoming a part of that group. But remember we're only doing what everyone else would do if given the opportunity.

I doubt it'll be a big sportswashing thing, countries like Qatar need good investments post oil, and tourism is boosting by getting your name out there.
United will be sponsored by Qatar Airways and maybe even the stadium will get renamed in a huge naming rights deal with Qatar (mark my words). We are going to be really souped up on cash with no debts and finally we will be able to beat the likes of Real to the punch.

We already have the largest fan base, in the best league soon we will have one of the best stadiums and training grounds again and we have ETH already.
That's kind of my point, 4 clubs spending beyond what was capable before along with real, Barca and bayern isn't going to leave many top players. It also isn't going to leave much room for many states. We've got Abu Dhabi, Saudi and now Qatar. Aren't they the richest of the states, who's left? Bahrain, Oman?
No I'm ready to bet football fans are fickle by nature and will move on from all this once the new owners spend a lot of cash, bring top players and the team starts winning again.
You can ride the moral high ground as much as you want but the reality is most football fans will have zero issue with the morality of the owners if their team starts winning again. They'll cope with it.

There will always be plenty of great players to buy. Look at Dortmund and Brighton. They pick up cracking young players for peanuts
In fairness I think we're well on our way, even without oil money. We don't need the Qatari investors. We just need someone who's going to allow us to reach our full potential, any potential owner could do that by getting rid of the debt and investing in the infrastructure.

The fans at the ground who go home and away are obviously worth more. The fans from Manchester are obviously connected to the club more.
It helped them turn Serie A into the biggest and richest league in the world for a period of time so there really wasn't nearly the amount of backlash to it that financial doping gets now with non-Western actors throwing their hats into the mix.
I understand a disagreement on a pov. Hence a conversation takes place.
However, what I don't understand is, with the outrage of people against Qatar, why continue to converse? Surely it does their head in, as it makes no difference in regards to what they say.
I’m getting more and more convinced that this is a done deal between the Glazers and the investors from Qatar. Probably close to the asking price. Exiting days to come and I’m fully onboard on a new ownership from the Middle East.
But it isn't just about the moral side of things (though that plays a part). State ownership and the associated limitless money pit that comes with it is the equivalent of a cheat code. It will make success feel more hollow (for me at least) and it grows the gap between the big five or six and the rest even further.

The Qataris would be bigger than what City, Newcastle have. And also PSG can't do what United can even with the same owners its the Premier League and this is Man Utd.

During the world cup the Qataris were meeting with the Glazers it was done a while ago IMO.
Yeah but I don't think they'll be enough to compete for the top 4 if us, Newcastle City and Chelsea are established with world class sides and unlimited resources. Liverpool are probably more attractive to investors, historically bigger, recent successes but with only 4 CL spots there's going to be a big 4 that forms, and when it does it'll be very hard to break into, that's why I'm glad we're doing this now, another season and Newcastle will get there, City are already there, Chelsea will get there, we need to be in that top 4 maintaining rather than trying to break in, if Qatar don't get us they'll probably get Liverpool and that's 4 teams we need to get past for CL football

It's pure hypocrisy from some people on here, happy for them to bank roll our country and supply us with oil but don't you fecking dare buy our football club.
To me it does feel almost overkill because I don't think the squad even really needs that much investment as is, it's already pretty good.
I'm outraged that AWB is a professional footballer. It certainly makes no difference that I think so, but I'll still occasionally say it here, as opposed to saying it to my girlfriend who doesn't know who he is.
I'm here hoping that we don't get bought by Qatar, understand that it seems likely we will, but also at times want to dispel the rosy ideas that others seem to have about what that possibly means for the direction of the club.
Tbh, I'm willing to accept that many would likely see no problem with it and as long as they get a constant stream of shiny new things they'll be content. Everything post takeover will be slightly hollow, as far as I'm concerned.
I mean that's just total bullshit and shows your lack of life experience. I've been to many places, met loads of football fans from various countries and some of them know more or care more about United than I ever could and I was born and raised in Langworthy.
I remember feeling the same way about this stuff many years ago, and then I met a guy in Thailand who was big into the Smiths and I told him he couldn't possibly get the Smiths like I did, and then he want on to explain how the songs shaped his childhood and what they meant to him growing up and sure enough, he got it just like I did, they spoke to him in the same way.

How is it a cheat code? City and PSG haven't even managed to win the CL yet. A club requires so much more than simply chucking money at players to achieve consistent success
This argument makes zero sense. Chelsea have just spent 600m in 4 months. What are we going to be spending to be cheating exactly? 700m? We’ve also already had a cheat code the last 10 years. Our revenues have allowed us to spend 1.5bn - how much do you think Brighton spent in that time? Or the rest outside the big 6?
