The Manchester Evening News revealed last month Ineos are open to retaining Murtough in a more administrative role and Murtough never envisaged his role at United to centre on recruitment.

That's quite revealing.

A- INEOS are taking the football side of things which means that admin is probably either the Glazers domain or a grey area were the Glazers will retain some influence
B- The Glazers are renowned for protection their own. We've seen it with Woodward for example were they stuck to him despite his many many mistakes and up to a point when someone big had to be sacrificed.

Thus its becoming more and more evident that Murtough is indeed a Glazer's man.

Our biggest mistake the last five years has been not landing Kane, Bellingham and Rice. That the supposed biggest club in England doesn't have any of the top English players is quite disgraceful.

I said in a previous post were Blanc as CEO was being discussed that I can see the Glazers playing a rather irritating trick. SJR would want to implement something (ex hire Blanc as CEO), the Glazers might agree with it (ex fire Arnold) only to stamp their authority by not giving SJR exactly what he wants (ex not giving Blanc their blessing). The idea is to prevent SJR from feeling too comfortable with his 25% thus pushing him to buy more shares and in SJR's case I believe that this trick will work in their favor. SJR loves control and the way INEOS is structured is a prime example of that.

If Murtough remains than he'll probably be moved into another role as close to the football machinery as the Glazers can possibly put him. That's because he's their eyes and ears. I can't see his salary reduced and SJR might be forced to defend that move (its said that INEOS and the Glazers have an agreement were no one will dare criticize one another). We'll only get rid of Murtough either if he gets a better job elsewhere or if the Glazers leave.

We need an experienced older striker for Hojlund to watch and learn from. Lewandowski would have been perfect for a season or two. Osiman and Mbappe will negate having Hojlund, so another £70 mill down the drain.

Good shout, Lewandowski would have been perfect for a few years. Hojlund wasn't a mistake, and is the sort of profile we need to be looking at. The mistake was that there was no centre forward already.

SJR is filthy filthy rich. I’m not saying he will come in and sell everybody but I expect to see the fringe and failed players pushed out a lot more aggressively over the coming windows and a lot more competition in the squad for starts. No more walking around for months deciding if you’re arsed getting up for a season or crap loans keeping the squad afloat. We can afford to cut our losses again and prioritise sporting success over all else. Thank fook.

after reviewing the sec papers, looks like the Glazers are desperately want to leave fully only to find there is no feasible offer to go through. Bidder A (SJ) at one point offer 34 for Class B and 24.x for class A and BoD rejected it for the reason of inequality of class A and Class B(possible of litigation)
