You have to realize how good Sehwag and Zaheer are as well. Two absolute monsters at what they do.
I know but the point is any team would suffer without their best bowler and best batsmen.
He's right to laugh at best 'team', tbf. We're extremely reliant on Zaheer. We'd be half the team without him. We have plenty of depth in replacing the runs, but nothing for the wickets.

That's the way it is though. Zaheer is more than bowler in our team, sort of a leader who also inspires other bowlers(esp Ishant) to bowl well.
I'm with heap, whilst one player can drag a team for short time they can't do it constantly, one player cannot make you the best team in the world.

That's the point. We ARE the best in the world. Maybe we can't sustain it for this reason (although I think we'll overcome it and sustain it) but we've got there in both forms of the game with that disability.
Zaheer is their special player, that's not to say the others are dreadful but they are not in the same class as Zaheer.
Take Zaheer out of the attack and you don't really see who will take the wickets, imo India's weakness is their bowling and it's got worse if Zaheer is out.
