Shiiiiet what a bellend. A goal would be better than a pen and red card.

Drama right away!!! Huge for Japan, big feck up for Colombia. Could be costly for the group as this was the game you would expect all of them to win if they want to progress.

First red of the world cup!

So many penalties at this World Cup. All good talking points. That was a clear red though.

Excuse the ignorance but I thought there was no double jeopardy and a penalty meant a yellow only?

Oh, and free shinji!

Well, that's definitely the winner of the "Moronic Play of the Tournament" award. Congratulations, Sanchez. You're an idiot.

Only if it was an honest attempt at a tackle. That was pure cheating, so a red is valid.

I thought that pen and red is not rule anymore. Triple punishment thing.
I think that is when its a foul, like last man etc. For a blatant deliberate handball the red is justified.

Only if you try to win the ball as last man in a tackling for example.
Sanchez just wanted to block the shot with his hand, clear red.

If it's an attempt to make a genuine tackle
However this was the daftest thing he could have done
So idiotic in the 3rd minute
