come off it pal, until milito scored those 2 goals against bayern, you prob never even heard of him, you may argue the case, but no way is Milito better than Dzeko.
 I've known Milito since he was at Genoa in Serie B and watched a lot of him ever since he and his brother were at Zaragoza.

Milito is better. Anyone with even half a brain can see that.

Just to remind those interested, his buy-out clause expires at midnight tonight!

Wonder if there will be any takers?

Wiki now states: "On 31 May 2010 VFL Wolfsburg agreed a £34 million sale of the Bosnian star to English Premier League side Manchester City, with medical and paperwork to be completed by June 4."

the clause is pointless . they will accept 30m tomorrow after the clause expires if there arent too many takers

its crazy money for a decent/good striker who still has a lot to prove

Selling clubs rarely take into account how much players still have to prove, they just want as much as possible and know that sometimes fools will pay way over the top and so they'll hold out for as much as they possibly can unless they need money quick or Dzeko tries to force a move.

I really doubt he'll stay there. That team is terrible and it's time for him to move on if he wants to improve. They'll probably sell him for 20 mil

United could spend £85million on David De Gea, Phi
I can see City looking to put in that 40 million euores bid just a minute before midnight, deadline day style as a way of teasing Wolfsburg and trying to look ulta cool thinking theyve got their man, only for Gary cook to fail to realise the fax machine is unplugged and frantically wondering why the send button hes now punching isnt actually sending! after finally realising it aint turned on at the mains its gone midnight and the whole deals gone tits up.

Because if anyone can, Gary Cook can.

Or faxing the bid but accidentally putting "United" instead of "City"

He's not worth 34mil. If not for the existence of clubs like Real, Chelsea and City, there wouldn't be many 30+mil players around in this world. And even then Dzeko would not count as one.

I hate Citeh, Real, Chelsea and Barca for inflating the god damn market. It sucks to see them spend huge amounts... and making our targets be 10m more expensive than they should be...
In fairness, we did our bit to inflate the market over the years.

Why worry? We have new talent. Raw and cheap. Watch them roll out next season, and hammer the shit out of all opponents.

Our targets have tended to be 10m more expensive as well. Also whoever said that Dzeko was one of our targets.

Wolfsburg have said striker Edin Dzeko will remain at the German side next season after the club received no offer matching his release clause.

Dzeko has been touted as a possible big-money transfer to one of Europe's big names, with the likes of Manchester United and neighbours City both believed to be interested in capturing his services.

The highly-rated Bosnian netted 22 goals in 34 Bundesliga outings last season and was free to leave the Volkswagen Arena on Monday had a release clause in his contract been met.

No offer for the 40million euros (£35million) fee was forthcoming, though, and Wolfsburg sporting director Dieter Hoeness revealed the 24-year-old would be staying put.

The news will come as a huge boost to new Wolves coach Steve McClaren, who had described the front man as "immensely important" to his side's cause ahead of the new season.

McClaren has been charged with reversing the club's fortunes next term after a disappointing eighth-placed finish last time out.

The ambitious outfit are looking to challenge for honours at the top of the table after winning the title in 2009 and Hoeness said in a statement: "The conditions have not been met.

"We are very pleased that the period of uncertainty is over. He is a player of huge quality who would have been very difficult for us to replace."

THE END
