never change Eric
Sorry, it's my fault for referencing something so obscure as the title of this fecking thread, you fecking plum. hehe
Thank God. Because losing assets for free was like cutting off a limb for Mr WoodwardI assumed we'd sold him!
Looked it up and he's under contract til 2024....... and there's an option for another year
Fair enoughYou would have a point if I read the title of the thread or cared about Bailly.
Perhaps not Marseilles’.They have an obligation to buy if they get CL football. It’s within everyone’s best interests that it happens.
Was that obligation not if he played a certain % of the league games and they qualified? They have an obligation to buy if they get CL football. It’s within everyone’s best interests that it happens.

He was injured. They actually like him down there.
This is what I found:
"the purchase figure for Bailly has been set at €6m. This will be automatically triggered if one of two conditions are agreed. Firstly, if Bailly plays 50% of Marseille’s games, he will become their player on a permanent basis or if OM qualify for the Champions League next season by finishing in the top three in Ligue 1."
So let's all cheer for Marseille finishing top 3 as he barely plays for them. Good news is they're currently 3rd, 2 points above 4th place Rennes.
What ?Six appearances since his move. The problem with French teams is they always favour French players.
No, too late. Time for you to take your medicine like @JPRouve had to...What ?
Edit: I am an idiot
I think it's a good deal all things considered. Bailly is so injury prone and inconsistent that no team, that can afford his current wages, would take him.Another one of our woeful deals - they basically get him on loan and we "might" get £5m if a few very favourable happenings take place!
All things considered, it’s one of our better ones. They either need CL football or he needs to play a bunch of games and they have to sign him. Unfortunately however it’s more likely that neither will happen…Another one of our woeful deals - they basically get him on loan and we "might" get £5m if a few very favourable happenings take place!

Kung Fu kicks someone in the chest and injures himself in the process while getting sent off.
The guy is a fecking liability, on the rare occasions when he's fit anyway.
English players wee favoured my fecking arse Eric.
We'll have to hope Eric doesn't play that much for them then. They'll not come in the top 3 playing this lunatic week, in week out.
Spot on.Same story as here then, much liked, much injured.
Comes back from injury, does something nuts for a few games, then finds form for a few games and looks top drawer; then gets injured for a few months.
Rinse and repeat.
Imitating his name sake hero? Kung Fu Erics

Group stage qualification, where the money is.What if they finish 3rd? In Ligue 1’s CL qualification place? Does that count as CL qualification or do they have to finish in the top 2?
Perhaps not Marseilles’.
Group stage qualification, where the money is.
Covering themselves in those Pot Noodle flavour packetsRead it as English players were flavoured.
Why is it not on Merseilles interest to qualify for CL? The money that they receive from CL will far out-weight Europa.
For argument sake, let's say PSG will sell Mbappe for 50m, add-on 30m if we win EPL, add-on another 30m if we win CL, do you think it is not our, Club management and fan's interest, to pay the add-on? Or we would rather play Europa for the next 5 years in order to save 60m?
In fact, sometime you have this clause of add-on if a player is nominated for personal award, which doesn't bring in financial incentives, but is still worthwhile in other indirect benefits.

Was just looking that up myself - he’s started 3 league games for them. Assuming he’s had injuries.
