Eric Dier | Poch: “He is an important player for us and the idea is not to sell him."

Do you want United to sign Eric Dier?

Dier isn't even that good, but Spurs won't want to sell him to us out of principle alone. As you can see from all the Spurs fans on here, they have small man syndrome, and at every opportunity desperately go out of their way to try and make out they're a big club like us.
Lol what Spurs fan has said were as big as United? And we have small man syndrome because we do t want to sell a player? Elaborate please.

Lol ... it's United who are desperate to sign various Spurs players, whilst Spurs look at United's first XI and think "meh ... it smacks of top 6"

I guess a lot of people think a player with a fancy name and a exotic nationality automatically are a better player than, say Eric Dier. Why is that?

Levy can be whatever he wants to be, but this could well be the first step into the inevitable. Spurs have done brilliantly, but they are still Spurs and they are still not winning anything. Players love playing for them when they are part of the group that excels, up to a certain point - and now we see Walker and maybe Dier flirting with other, bigger clubs. What happens to Kane and Alli if they yet again (which is very, very likely) don't win anything this season? There is not a big difference between Spurs and Everton to be honest, other than Spurs at the moment being a much better team on the pitch. A few years ago Everton were better than Spurs, but all in all both teams are just two of the ones trying to make a living behind the big clubs in England - the big picture does not change just because Tottenham have finished a couple of times in the top four.
Lol how are Walker and Dier flirting with other clubs? And no doubt Everton are a good club but it's been more than a few years since they were better than us as a PL team.

Yep, there wasn't a big difference between 2nd and 7th, other than 26 points and a +42 better GD.

The Glaston vs the people that trawl the forum trying to pick a fight with him is the one of the worst things on here.

His silly jibes only work because they are many willing and gullible people that fall for them
People need to ignore him.

I think the wage cap is a bigger issue than the trophy thing, at least in the short term.

If Dier thinks he can double his wages elsewhere then he could force an exit. Spurs are easily good enough to win silverware in the near future.

Because he's so far failed internationally and been poor in pretty much every European game Tottenham have played.

Remind me who are Spurs' realistic taergets this window?....
Unlike United (yet again) we have no great need to improve our first XI, so our targets - realistic or otherwise - are not so important. We've no need to go chasing the Greizmans and Diers of this world and failing to get either.

Ban this clown. Your beloved Spurs have still won feck all, regardless of how much you praise them on different football forums like an obsessed child. You're the most disliked individual on this forum, congrats. Not to worry, your time is certainly running out, you can go sprout your useless poison somewhere else. I'm sure your imaginary wife will gladly listen to your nonsense for eternity.

The price is just too steep for a player who is not a regular in his position in the first team.

But...you didn't win anything. And those around you will strengthen. If you have any ambition to go on and reach the highest levels you absolutely should be looking to improve.

Hi @GlastonSpur , I see you're very active in this thread but you still havent replied to this.
What's to reply to? The post merely poses a question to which you already know the answer, and then glosses over the 18 point league gap.

Exactly. Even Chelsea who won the league wants to improve their team so that they can go for in CL but the team (fans) that was embarrassed by Gent thinks all is fine.

We are looking to improve, but we don't need to do that by spending lots of money on new players .... as the last few seasons have shown in abundance.

You say that those around us "will strengthen", but you are confusing the signing of new players with an automatic "strengthening", when it doesn't work like that.

Lol calm down, where did this thing about we being desperate for your players? By all reports it seems Dier fancies a move a doubling his wage and that's why we are trying to bring him. We were supposedly being desperate (according to the media) for Morata and look how it turned out. The deals done in the last 2-3 years are showing we do our business cleanly, if there is a talk about Dier moving it's clearly done because the player is open to it and maybe even Levy. Otherwise we will bring another player.
By the last summer window you can say Spurs were more desperate by panic buying Sissoko on deadline day, and him turning a massive flop (35m wasn't it?), let's see how this pens out.

What does the 18 point gap mean though? Except that we won trophies, ended up in the CL while you want absolutely nothing and ended up the exact same competition?

Spurs are a good side but even the Champions need to improve their squad, if not starting XI. Youve got virtually no european experience in your team and that showed last year where you were miserable in UCL and Europa. So just hoping it's going to fall into place this year without reinforcements is naive imo.

And to keep this post relevant I'd like to reiterate that I, like many sincerely hope we do not sign Dier.

I'm sorry, but United finished in 6th place last season and 5th the season before that ... and yet you complain about a description of your squad as "smacking of top 6"? Get real sunshine.

How is that 'we finished 2nd sunshine' trophy treating you? Have ye done a parade around London yet? Laugh at United all you want but the harsh reality is, we finished the season with 2 trophies, Spurs with none. Get real sunshine.

What's happening in this thread is that a bunch of United fans don't like hearing that Dier won't be sold ... because it threatens their carefully nurtured (but nonsense) idea that United can sign who they want.

So they attempt to take out their anger and frustration by directing a series of stupid jibes against Spurs. And then they get upset when those jibes are returned with interest.

English and United fan, will probably spend the majority of the rest of his career at the club if he does well so the fee would really be irrelevant. I think he is good enough but it really wouldn't be an exciting signing at all.

The giant club he supported as a boy is promising to double his wages and start him in the favored position that his current club won't? Come to daddy, Eric...

Glaston must be related to a cafe admin or may even be an admin himself. I have seen people thread banned for a lot less than he does on a consistent basis.
