I'm no reactionary when it comes to manager changes, and I like ten Hag, I think he's probably capable of building a high quality, entertaining and successful team for us if given time and patience, but when was the last time we were the best side in a game? We're 7th and lucky to be 7th if we're being honest.
I think there's lots of positives about his tenure so far like restoring the authority of the manager and giving young players a chance, and I know we've had a huge injury crisis at the back, and I know Casemiro's legs have gone, and I know ten Hag has a clear idea of how he wants us to play but doesn't have the players yet, but surely he has to be pragmatic and make tactical changes to cope with the injuries and to give Casemiro the cover he needs. All managers have to be pragmatic at times but ten Hag either can't or won't, and both are worrying.
Unless the unlikely happens and there is a significant improvement over the last few games, I think there are only 2 things that can save him. 1) As unlikely as it seems, winning the FA cup might be enough for him to get another season, or 2) with no obvious candidates and INEOS working from the top down, the fact that Ashworth and Wilcox might not be in position until after the summer means he might more time by default.
Barring those 2 things I think he's gone in the summer, and it's a shame because I really think he could build a winning side here.
