So he has beaten Kovalainen and Rosberg twice out of three attempts, if that makes a fantastic driver, what would you call Vettel?

As a person I quite like him, but as a F1 driver he's mentally too weak for me to like him. I like it when drivers, or other sportsmen at a high level, are at their best when the going gets tough and it matters most, so I haven't been a fan. But I don't blame him for beeing hyped his whole career, that's not his fault but is what annoys me most about him. He's very quick when everything is going his way, but he's only been in competitive, very competitive or superior cars his whole career. A fantastic driver would have done a lot more with those.

You can say the same about any driver, Vettel , how I also think is a fantastic driver, did nothing last season in a poor car.
Even the likes of Senna , Prost and Shu struggled in poor cars.
I like Lewis , he was the driver that got me watching F1 again after many years, in fact from watching the Senna crash.
All the criticism at him is all valid, when it is not going his way he moans a groans, is that any different to Red Bull saying they will pull out if they dont get engines they want or moaning about this wing and that bolt.

Vettel won Monza in a Torro Rossa. Alonso is probably the best in the modern sport at putting a car higher up the rankings then it deserves to be. Hamilton hasn't ever really (to my admittedly poor memory) outdriven his car that I can think of.

Granted he's not really had to all that often.

A new leader in the Fantasy League this week.

Wicked_badgers jumps from 5th to 1st and I dropped from 1st to 3rd :( but with a very slender lead of 1 point over TT_Caf in second.


Team of the week
First is Wicked_badgers with 113 points, no shock there and by 14 points, well done.
Second is Evan GP with 99 points
Third is Red Shift with 97 points

Should have been 2nd in the overall standing this week but didn't make the list on the site for some reason.

Looks like Ferrari have the pace based on FP3 but reliability's not been great all weekend. Weird that his race engineer told him to stop the car when it was still capable of doing a good time.

Bit annoying Alonso's missing Monaco, would probably be fighting for serious points there. Instead we get a driver who doesn't want to be there and a hugely underwhelming Vandoorne.

I watched an interview with Button , you get the impression he is treating it has a bit of fun, the Monaco track is tough to drive doubt it will be much fun.

Vettel literally threw pole away in the Spanish Grand Prix yesterday. Hopefully he can make amends today.

I know it has, as it should go down as "racing incident" but surely as a sporting spectacle, if someone is at fault which takes two competitors out of the race whereas you continue.. that's not entirely fair.
