Checo almost in DRS range
So whose fault is it then. Bottas or the team?Fight your main opposition rather than your teammate who is in a title fight.
Red Bull sacrifice Perez at all costs, Mercedes play the nice guy.
Redbull tactically adapt and understand what is needed.
In Russia Bittas let max through straight away, perez battled like crazy with Hamilton.
That start today would be different if it was red bull they would have blocked Hamilton. Bottas has been non existent.
Although, red bull have been the best car this year and also the best team management and work. They deserve it.
This feels like an attempted jinx
for 1 lap? don’t be daftAnd Merc throw away 2nd too
That doesn't seem to be related to what I was saying. But it seems you agree that extenuating circumstances (being hit, learning a new car, having to take your teammates damaged parts, etc) make the teammate discussion about more than just points.Bottas was hit by Ricciardo. That can't really be helped.
Of course he could have braked later, but it still wasn't Bottas's fault.
If that accident didn't happen, Bottas would have been ahead of Perez more than likely.
Maybe Ricciardo is still a Red Bull driver behind the scenes. #TeamPlayer
Think they got away with it thanks to Perez not pitting the lap after. As soon as Leclerc was told to pit, Red Bull should have pitted Perez. And Merc throw away 2nd too
If Red Bull had jumped straight in they may have jumped him. Looks like they will go long insteadfor 1 lap? don’t be daft
Got lucky that Leclerc and Gasly pitted immediatelyFFS Mercedes the timing was a bit shite.
Mercedes in the dirty air is dreadful.
Maybe or Maybe Merc had an idea they would pit, not long after.Got lucky that Leclerc and Gasly pitted immediately
You make it sound like Bottas has never given up multiple first place positions to let Hamilton win racesThat doesn't seem to be related to what I was saying. But it seems you agree that extenuating circumstances (being hit, learning a new car, having to take your teammates damaged parts, etc) make the teammate discussion about more than just points.
Bottas wouldn't even follow the order not to steal the fastest lap point. He's been a far worse wingman than Checo this year. You make it sound like Bottas has never given up multiple first place positions to let Hamilton win races
circumstances were very different to what they are now. he’s changed this year. You make it sound like Bottas has never given up multiple first place positions to let Hamilton win races
Who does Bottas owe?Bottas wouldn't even follow the order not to steal the fastest lap point. He's been a far worse wingman than Checo this year.
He's still racing for them and paid by them.Who does Bottas owe?
His team have binned him.
He’s also paid millions to do a job.Who does Bottas owe?
His team have binned him.
Yupcircumstances were very different to what they are now. he’s changed this year.
He's still racing for them and paid by them.
And he'll get paid. He’s also paid millions to do a job.
he’s been released because he’s been absolutely dogshit this year and deserves to be replaced.Yup
His team has released him.
It's a big landmark to be fair
Dogshit, but outscoring his rival, which has so far kept Merc ahead in the constructors.he’s been released because he’s been absolutely dogshit this year and deserves to be replaced.
I firmly believe he starts the season on par with Lewis. His performances in the car are what make him #2 not anything else.Who does Bottas owe?
His team have binned him.
Regularly getting better start positions than his teammate after the announcement.he’s been released because he’s been absolutely dogshit this year and deserves to be replaced.
No, they just didn't renew his contract. His contract was only on till the end of the 2021 season. Big difference to being released from a contract.Yup
His team has released him.
It's a big landmark to be fair
Done alright for himself, not helping his teammate, where he's been shockingDogshit, but outscoring his rival, which has so far kept Merc ahead in the constructors.
Considering the Red Bull is apparently the better car this year, he's done alright
Bottas is not working for the team, so he should be replaced. Red bull would no question, this is a ruthless business. Merc are to blame for lacking ruthlessness. So whose fault is it then. Bottas or the team?
Don't basically sack your driver half way through a season
Done alright for his team too.Done alright for himself, not helping his teammate, where he's been shocking
You're taking my statement an inferring extra meaning. I don't blame him for phoning it in a bit (although he wasn't exactly the model team mate before he was replaced), but he's still been a poor teammate.Who does Bottas owe?
His team have binned him.
So they're releasing him at the end of the season. No, they just didn't renew his contract. His contract was only on till the end of the 2021 season. Big difference to being released from a contract.
At the end of the season, yes. Not mid season, which you could think seeing him raceSo they're releasing him at the end of the season.
Thanks for clearing that up
Thats why I didn't say they've sacked himAt the end of the season, yes. Not mid season, which you could think seeing him race
No, releasing would be inferring that he's still in a contract. I.e. we're releasing you from your contract. His contract expires at the end of the season, so he would be without a drive without a renewal either way. Either way, I'm not sure you get the driver market and how it works very well.So they're releasing him at the end of the season.
Thanks for clearing that up
So whose fault is it then. Bottas or the team?
Don't basically sack your driver half way through a season
You did, thoughThats why I didn't say they've sacked him
I'll admit I don't know the logistics of F1 driver contracts etc, if I did, I'd be a millionaire. No, releasing would be inferring that he's still in a contract. I.e. we're releasing you from your contract. His contract expires at the end of the season, so he would be without a drive without a renewal either way. Either way, I'm not sure you get the driver market and how it works very well.
TrueYou did, though
