I would rank Chelsea a little closer than that, young up and coming squad vg manager, ambitious owner who’s not afraid to spend. Would be a good fit for Kane as lead player.

Of course the fly in the ointment is Levy so yeah probably not going to happen....
Whats young about Chelsea?

Kane does get niggling injuries but you would think he were held together by rubber bands and chewing gum by the way some people talk about him being injury prone. Since he broke through the least amount of games he's played in all competitions is 34. And he got 24 goals in those games. Not exactly Darren Anderton.

Would it be the worst piece of business if Spurs sell Kane (140m) and bring in possibly Grealish (80m) and Lukaku? (85m)

Grealish Lukaku Son

Is a very good front 3.
why on earth would lukaku want to go to Spurs?

Sorry but Kane doesn't fit our system. We are playing fast paced, high tempo, counter-attacking football. Kane is nothing like that. He is basically Lukaku with better touch. And we already saw how that fit us. We need someone with more pace, ideal would be Haaland, but we wont buy him. Man City would be scary as hell if they signed Kane. Pretty much perfect to Bald Pep system in Man City.
Personally I would just continue as we are right now in attack. Would buy world class DM and CB and give more playing time to McNeill and Hannibal next season.
There is so much wrong with this post. Did you see Spurs this season? Their best performances were all counter attacking displays with Kane dropping in deep, creating space for the Inside forwards, and then arriving late in the box to finish. He would do brilliantly with Rashford and Greenwood on either side of him and Bruno joining in.

Also, McNeil is at least a couple of years away from first team football.

United should be all over this transfer.

What a title race we could have next year !

City will be the ones to beat but with Kane at United it could tip the balance and who knows Liverpool might get their shit together again. Plus Chelsea could well challenge.

A mouthwatering prospect !

Surely City or PSG. If he wants guarantee of trophies. We don’t guarantee Major Trophies anymore.

Wait, are people seriously suggesting we will spunk 120-130m on Kane when Haaland who's 7 years younger is available for 70m next year? Ain't happening.
Håland may be €70m next year but then you need to add €30m+ to his agents and €750k+ a week.

He'd be great for us. Unfortunately we'd still need a RW, CDM and less urgently a CB. We don't have the budget to fill all the gaps.

City literally only need a striker. It's a no brainer. Likely already in discussions. Then, we'd need to bring in £150m+ worth of first team players and for them to hit the ground running, to even compete with City next season.

The guy who has scored more than 15 league goals once in 6 years and 10 or less 4 times while contributing little else to the team play?
This isn't a Martial thread but he's been excellent in two seasons, good in two seasons and bad in two seasons. In his first season he was the main ball carrier and arguably our most creative player. The season before last his link-up play was excellent. That's not contributing nothing to the team's play.

Martial still has a role to play and signing Kane might give him a kick up the back side or get him more time on the left to ease back into form with lower expectations.

Kane has left it too late for a move. He would be great for a few years, but I hope to god we don't buy him at the crazy price Spurs will want for him.

Only PSG or City could afford him and he’d be an incredible fit for Pep, he’ll be City’s biggest ever transfer now they’ve laughed off FFP.

Anyone who hasn’t yet seen how City’s owners will make them the most dominant side for the next decades & why clubs wanted the ESL to ”even things up” is living in cloud cuckoo land.

For all those claiming it'll be Chelsea...

Who was the last player to move between the clubs? Gus Poyet?

He's not out of contract, so Spurs have to agree to sell him. Not a prayer they're selling him to Chelsea.

It's us or City.

How many more kicks up the backside does Martial need ?

Yeah, I'd say rather confidently Chelsea is a no go.

If he is City bound as many people are saying, we are in big trouble. We have significant potential as a squad but I don’t see is getting near City if they get Kane.

Too many people thinking about the distant future. We don’t need Kane to be our spearhead for a decade. All we need is around 3 good years out of him. This team is on the cusp of a league title. A couple more top quality additions and we’ll be there.

PSG or City makes too much sense.

City need a no 9 and Aguero replacement

PSG need a no 9 and Icardi / Kean replacement

I feel this could be a blessing in disguise for Spurs.

Yes he still has a few years left potentially at the top of his game, but the annual layoffs don't make that a guarantee. And there are some decent players likely to be attainable.

Grealish sticks out. I think villa would let him leave at the right price and i can see Grealish wanting to go there. Spurs will be better next season than this season without question

I think other teams thought that about us in the past and some of our signings yet we didn't always win. It's not so easy to predict across a season the better team doesn't always win.

I still maintain a player like Kane moving for trophies is not coming to us. Our europa league win won't convince him chaps

Get Sancho and a midfielder and we won't be far off.

Plus he is pretty much guaranteed to win multiple trophies at both clubs. I don't see him joining us for that reason.

I don’t think he tells Spurs he wants to leave unless he’s been assured a club will move mountains to get him. Has City written all over it.
Utd have proven in the past we will go hard for certain players and we still have more history of big fees. I would say If we are interested we have a good chance.

Kane to city is a different beast though. He fits that team like a glove. I could see him being even better than Aguero under Pep because he just fits the way they want to play perfectly. Would be a big worry regardless of how we respond.

And Poyet was a free transfer rather than and agreement between the two clubs. The last actual transfer between the two was Micky Hazard back in the mid 80s.

Kane to Chelsea is about as unlikely a transfer as I can think of.

He's got Man City written all over him. He wants guaranteed trophies and they can afford him.

They have already ran away with it this season despite Aguero and Jesus combining for just 10 goals. I fear the league would be more one sided than ever if it happens.

Gilmour (19)
Hudson Odoi (20)
James (21)
Havertz (21)
Mount (22)
Pulisic (22)
Abraham (23)
Chilwell (24)

thats some very good players - none of whom have reached their peak yet and certainly a very good foundation to build on - I can certainly see 5 or 6 of those being regulars for a long time (barring injury or totally failing to develop)

I think Haaland / Lukaku would more likley be Chelseas targets... not that they wouldnt want Kane but as you say a deal with spurs is probably unlikley

Fergie always said if the opportunity for a world class player comes up you never turn it away. We should be in for him but I suspect like most have stated the destination has probably already been chosen. I just don’t want us to lose out on both Kane or Haaland. Kane would play majority of games and Cavani will still get enough game time.

We've been in for Van Persie, Fred and Maguire against City in the last 8 years or so.
Similar talk on here about City being favourites, no chance for us etc etc.

We'll see how it pans out.
