Is it time to burst Ten Hag’s bubble?

How the players bounce back in the next game will tell me a lot about their attitude and mental toughness. Fingers crossed they play one of their best matches of the season vs Betis on Thursday.

As for the match today-- I'm drinking and will pretend that it never happened. I'm good at easily forgetting things.

Yup but it’s the next league game that I desperately want us to respond in.

Today will be a lesson for Ten Hag

Don’t lose 7-0 to Liverpool

Now he knows that, we’ll be flying

Perhaps we were very tired going into the game, Casemiro looked to be wincing in pain earlier on and Varane’s fitness wasn’t a certainty. The fact remains it’s going to take years perhaps even longer to live down the banter from this result, no matter who we play.

What is this thread?
Players are knackered. We've played more games than anyone in Europe, we never rotate because our squad is shite, and you want Ten Hag's bubble bursting? Think its pretty well burst mate. He must have been in the board's ear the whole winter saying "I need bodies" and they give him Wout fecking Weghorst and Sabitzer on loan? Come on. Grow up. The guys have been playing on pure adrenaline for who knows how long and for whatever reason they've some psychological trauma - they looked from minute 1 today like they thought they were going to get a hiding - so it was obviously going to happen and then their legs went as the adrenaline wore off. We will limp over the finishing line this year. We need reinforcements. But get out of here with your "Oooooh ten hag needs his bubble bursting". He's worked miracles to get us where we are.

It's a wake up call to anyone who thought this guy is on Pep or Klopp's level, he isn't. But he is a good coach who will achieve success with us if given the necessary investment which is why it's important that the Qatar acquisition happens.

Nonsense it will be forgotten about if Ten Hag wins the league next season.

He's very much on Klopp's level. But a man can't make tired players forget they are tired forever. He can't magic six new signings into reality with his willpower.

Klopp also lost by 7 to Villa by the way.

Not saying ETH is at their level right now, just that even these elite managers have days like this.

He's doing better than Klopp this season. A bad result doesn't change that. He's an excellent coach and I wouldn't trade it for Klopp or Pep.

Still our best manager in the post-Fergie era
We won the Europa and League Cup in a season with Mourinho. We won the FA Cup with LVG. . We have no clue that a League Cup may be the only thing we ever win with ETH and that's what ultimately matters for us, trophies. If he can't win the League or a CL he ultimately becomes no better than Mourinho and LVG in the history books. LVG actually went to Anfield and beat the scousers twice. With ETH we just had our joint worst defeat ever in the league

Why do people keep saying stuff like this?

We beat Arsenal 8-2, we lost 6-1 to Tottenham and City. We lost 4-0 and 5-0 to City last year. We've battered many a team 4,5 ,6 etc.

These are one off games. If we end the season 3rd with another trophy it'll be a mere footnote in history.

This is some ridiculous negativity.

If you don't get a feeling he's moving to a different level than the post Fergie managers, I don't know what we can do for you.
One big defeat today doesn't change that.

True but ETH is still here and still has a chance to win a league or a CL for Mourinho and LVG that change is long gone.
It's quite clear he was a problem in assessing our capabilities in away games against good or very good opponents, it's no coincidence we lost this heavily against Pool, City and Brentford. But honestly I prefer this, rather than Mourinho's constant negativity and defensive football or LVG "tactics" with sideways passing and 0-0's.

Our record against the big clubs was fantastic under LVG and Mourinho would never get stuffed 7-0 (yeah I know he lost 5-0 to the greatest club side ever but that was a one-off).

Which ultimately counts for nothing in saving their jobs. It was the runs of poor results and bad football that decided their sacking, not the occasional good wins against big clubs. Yet here you are judging ETH based on 2? 3 games out of 40 over games?

This isn’t a “good kick up the arse” this is a grounds for sacking, Guardiola and Klopp have never lost 7-0 because they’re actual good managers.
This thread is a shambles in general, but this post is terrible. One poor result (a week after lifting our first cup in 6 years) and you call it "grounds for sacking"? Jesus wept.
Then suggesting having "never lost 7-0" is some kind of quality that proves you're a good manager? Sam Allardyce never lost 7-0 either - is he an "actual good manager"?
Mate you've had a shocker with that post.

It's embarrassing but ultimately irrelevant. We're getting better but we are still a work in progress and had a bad day. Liverpool are in decline but they still had a good day. That's the big picture. Several factors caused today's thrashing and one of them was luck. Another was tiredness, both emotional and physical.

It's very different from the beatings under Ole and Ralf, where we looked lost.

Never felt this humiliated supporting us. That 2nd half was the worst football I have ever seen us play in my almost 40 years as a fan. Dogshit from all of them including our gaffer.

Listen, its a horrific result, against a bitter rival.
Let people express their emotions as long as they follow the forum’s guidelines.
If people are calling for the manager’s head or think we’re as shit as ever been, I think they’re allowed to.

Its an atrocious and disgusting performance, it shouldn’t be acceptable even if Liverpool were peak Barca and United were in the conference.

How do you even overreact to a performance that will be remembered for decades and is a stain on this club and its history?
I laughed it off as a weird one
Same as Liverpool 2 villa 7

It is already history to me. Let's move forward and win the next few games. Let Liverpool fan rejoice, they had nothing much to cheer this season. I am more concern with what Antony brings to the table beside scoring a odd goal here and there.
