Ivan Perisic

Maybe people will stop taking decisions on players during the match and wait for the 90 minutes to end.

What happened today pretty much summed Caf in nutshell.

Sour grapes.

At the end one goal, one assist. He was everywhere on the pitch.

He brought you home.

He gave 100% tonight and then some. 3 consecutive matches of 120+ minutes and he was running his bollocks off until the last minute.

Thought he was shite in the first half, but second half he really lit it up.

Great player.

And then an assist. Just because he runs for 90 minutes and isn’t flash people think he’s shit.

He was the best player on the pitch, he played extra time in 2 games and in 3rd game he still kept going. His stamina is insane.

He did well today when the game was stretched and there was a lot of space, but imo it's been a poor tournament from him elsewise. Not what we need at all imo.

Worst player on Croatia side in the first half. Won MoTM in the second half.
Hmm

He's a decent player who when he plays well can cause havoc. He's not a top player.

He's improved in the last few years. Late for a winger, but he's an exeption. In hindsight, it seems tough to argue we wouldn't have been better off buying Perisic to play on the right instead of Sanchez and keeping Martial and letting Rashford fight him for the LW spot, but of course we could also just stick Sanchez out right and do that.

Thought with real hindsight, the mistake is that when he went for 15M at age 26 we didn't buy him and Inter did. He would have been a solid buy at that time and age. Not an exciting one and I'm sure at the time it would have seemed unambitious, but he could have been a starter or our winger off the bench.

Wonder if there's a mid 20s right winger we should be looking at now with similar upside who's also not going to cost a 80M pounds. The obvious move is to buyback Januzaj as he's improved, should be entering his prime and makes sense as RW cutting in and creative enough to help supply Lukaku. But I can't say I've seen enough of Sociedad to make that call. Shaqiri? Carrasco? The Iranian RW who tore up the Eredivisie?

Average player and will always be average for me. Tonight he turned up in the 2nd half though
Yep, not like he's the only average player to run his arse off for a National team game, Russia had a squad of them. He's nothing special and never will, it's like Willian, crap for 2 group games and then has a good half vs Mexico and suddenly we need to buy him, then he was back to his usual self against Belgium.

Worked his bollox off in fairness tonight great second half . Wouldn't mind Rebic too to add a bit of Mongrul to our team

If only he could maintain this level of performance, unfortunately he is streaky as they come. Great game tho.

Finally showed up to the world cup. Was having a shit tournament up until this second half. Hes a good player, just inconsitent. But those that thought us missing out on him had some bearing on our season.... nah. Hes not United level.

Has amazing potential. When he's at his best he reminds me of a peak Robben. Incredibly inconsistent though.

I can see what Mourinho likes about him.

people get carried away by age and look, he's not a fancy player but a very effective one, no-nonsense winger very strong and powerfull and straight forward, players with close control like sterling would never win that header in the box... working hard 120 minutes, plays with both feet potentially if he regressed ablke to be converted into a WB/fullback, would have been a good transfer for us

one year too late

He is better for Croatia than for club most of the time. The performance toady was a performance from a man with passion and heart for his country. He will only play like that for his country or big games and finals, not week in week out at club level. He hasnt got that consistency. But fair play to him, match winner today.

One of the best wingers in europe. Doesn‘t mean much because there are very few pure ones out there. He could have a Vazquez role at a big club, winning titles.

I saw on wikipedia that he's the proud winner of the Coupe Gambardella. Not exactly sure what that is, but it sounds pretty good.
