Is there anyway to find out our winning percentage when Shaw plays and the percentage when he doesn't since he's arrived? Seems like all our good runs since 2014 are when he's playing and healthy.

As much as some of you liked him, it's insane how much an impact he makes over Ashley Young being our LB

He deserved that goal, I love some of the runs he makes and it makes a difference playing a left footed left back in the left back position.

I actually think he's continuing some of his work that he did end of last season (until the injury I believe which was against Southampton at home).

Really, really good. Getting into that kind of position away to City also means backing yourself to be able to get back and defend if it doesn't work, so clearly he has real confidence in his fitness as well. There's nobody I'd rather have in that position right now.

Goes without saying really, but there's not a more improved player on our team this season. One of the most improved in the league too. Always been solid enough at the back, but he's added an attacking dimension to the that we've never seen from him before. Definitely the best left back in the league on this form.

Best left back in the league. Best in the world? I don’t watch enough continental football but surely it’s a shout? Our player of the season. If he’s not first name on the team sheet in the euro’s Southgate needs sacking.

Shawberto Carlos.

Absolutely immense, my choice for POTY barring Bruno. Got to be starting for England in the summer, there’s no better full-back in the Prem at the minute.

Best LB in the world right now.
I am also wondering, since I don't follow other leagues that much, is he the best LB (or even FB) in the world this season?

Maybe Hakimi or that Davies guy from Bayern could be around there? In EPL only Cancelo would be close.

Anyway, much love for Shaw, I am very happy for him.

Almost unplayable at the moment. Absolutely immense and I’m delighted for him. His driving runs and strength on the ball are a real sight to see. Has to start for England at the Euros in this form.

Has to be one of the most under rated left back's out there.

Having Tellus has been a real bonus in making sure we don't overplay Shaw...hope he can remain injury free for the rest of the season.

There's not many better LBs, that's for sure. What makes Shaw so good is that he barely ever gets beaten defensively and acts as a de facto playmaker from full back, you're not going to find many more well rounded players than that.

Davies has been a bit underwhelming this season, at least in my humble opinion. Cancelo's been great this season but Shaw absolutely bullied him today.

It's a great feeling to see him starting to turn into the player it looked like he had the potential to prior to the leg break. Jose's treatment of him was one of the things that felt wrong about his tenure. Thought he had it in him to perform similarly to this, but even then it's a pleasant surprise. I'd say he's actually exceeding that early promise at the moment. Let's hope he keeps it up and stays fit.

He was outstanding today.

He's running away with the player of the season award at the moment.

Struggled with Mahrez the first 20-25 but after that he was amazing. My man of the match.

He'll be starting for them by the end of this season if Southgate isn't an idiot.
As long as he won't be catching too much fatigue or injuries on international breaks, he should be rewarded like that.

Fergie would probably try convince him to stay, but watching Shaw on upcoming Euros sounds too exciting to not look forward to it.

Heck of a performance and a heck of a player. Best LB in football at the moment.

Arguably our player of the season. It's always a give away when you notice how much worse off we are when a certain player doesn't play. When Shaw doesn't play, we look weaker defensively and offensively. Hard to choose between him and Bruno for player of the year. Bruno would get my vote, but Shaw has been feckin brilliant.

Hakimi can’t defend and Davies isn’t as good at in tight areas. He excels with his speed but as with most quick players usually switches off.

maybe Theo Hernandez at Milan too, but id swap none of them for shaw in current form.

really hope he can keep this up and stay fit, he deserves a chance at the euros.

Best LB in the world right now.

Yep, I can't think of another better. Southgate needs to pick him. As a United fan I'd rather not but I'm sure Shaw is desperate to prove himself at the International level and I reckon he'll be excellent. The best signing we have made post Fergie easily.

Don't think it's particularly close, Shaw all day.

I think he should get a Player of the season nomination. Consistently brilliant.

Who else is in the running? De Bruyne, Dias/Stones, Gundogan, Bruno?
Wan Bissaka has more goals in open play this season than KDB

Best LB in the world right now.
I think he’s been our player of the season so far. But best in the world? He was very good today, but he also had problems defending against Mahrez. I think we’re getting carried away if we think he’s the best in the world. If he continues like this another year, then maybe.

He's in great form but he's always been at least good for us. Now he's probably going to get overhyped. But give it time and everyone will be calling him fat and useless again.

Who is currently better than him? I believe Robertson was considered the best LB around before.

He’s been great but I feel we’re going through this every time a player has a good run. Many United fans claimed AWB was the best fb in the world, now suddenly we have both best fullbacks in the world. I think Shaw struggled defensively in first half today, and even if he might have been our best player it wasn’t really a world class performance.

I was getting fed up with him a bit after that first half, when he scored his goal I actually ran around laughing in joy. So happy for Luke.

I wish we had a second Luke Shaw we could play in midfield. His game is so darn complete, he's got everything we could do with in those areas ; close control, passing accuracy, ability to drive forwaed with the ball . Fantastic footballer.

No one sensible claimed this. A few claimed he was the best defensive fb in the world (a much smaller pool of competition) and more claimed he was the best defensive fb in the league (myself included.) I would say the latter has been true all season and still is. The former probably not, but then it's so difficult to compare across leagues anyway.

Shaw might be in the top five LBs overall in Europe. Creeping ahead of Cancelo as best FB in the league, notably getting the better of him today and also because Shaw could excel doing what Cancelo does for City (fairly light defensive load and lots of midfield work) but Cancelo would not look nearly as good if he had to defend as much as Shaw does for United.
