I was thinking this the other day. Incredible that we've still been more successful than Arsenal and Spurs, and equal City and Chelsea.

I like that we're currently holders of the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League. Quick, get a picture of them together and we can truly celebrate a micky mouse treble!

As nice as they've been playing in the league, they've been poor in Europe and in 5, 6 years time people won't really remember the 'great' Spurs team of the Poch era, unless they win a trophy. Next season is huge for them IMO. Another season like this one won't cut it.

I agree about their European games and how big next year is for them. Though, they've been great domestically yet still haven't won a league cup or FA cup, nevermind the PL. That's what surprises me.

Someone seriously considers League Cup as major trophy? Its pretty close to meaningless to me tbh, if we lost today this season would be awful result wise so that trophy would mean absolutely nothing.

It's funny how even in our worst period in decades, we've managed to win more trophies than Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs etc

Do you actually go to matches and travel down to cup finals and lose your mind when the team score and you finally win?

Yeah, great response mate....by that logic community shield is also a major trophy, maybe Moyes wasnt bad after all....
Obviously id prefer if we win everything but compare league cup to other trophies and you will see its not even close. Can you honestly say that this season would be a success result wise if we failed to win today?

You can think or call it what you like, it's a major trophy.

It isn't as prestigious as the FA Cup, I agree. We all do but sometimes I wonder why, the teams you can face in the FA Cup are the same teams you can face in the league cup.

Its nothing like a one off friendly that is the Charity shield, its a proper knock out competition.

Obviously the league is higher in prestige in that list, but still nice to see.

Even in our decline, we've managed to win trophies.

Need to get the Prem trophy back now.

Will need to be updated after the FA Cup final this weekend. ;)

Also didn't Mourinho once said the Community Shield is nothing more than a "glorified friendly?"

I would also not count CS as a major trophy.

of course, im not saying its a friendly but what i consider as major trophy is something that transform your season from bad/average to a good/great one and league cup doesnt do that in my opinion.

The definition of a major trophy is generally agreed to be any fully fledged top flight competition, so you coming up with your own definiton is pretty meaningless.

Given we haven't won the league, our 3 trophies are well behind Chelsea and City's 3.

But it's still a decent effort given the changes within the club.

Winning trophies is in United's DNA. As simple as that.

Well it is a major trophy theres no debating that. If the League Cup isn't a major trophy then neither is the FA Cup. Same teams similar format.

Think that should be 2 for Liverpool when you count the Fair Play cup

Don't think we should count any cup that puts Arsenal above Chelsea

They'll be remembered. But for all the wrong reasons.

Everyone remembers Keegan and Shearer (One title aside) as perennial losers.

Apparently some posters thought Tottenham had a better season than United so you can add that accomplishment aswell

Get over yourself. Such an arrogant sense of self-entitlement.

so im not allowed to not rate a certain competition? As i said earlier, im happy we won it but its not a competition that would transform a season like other major trophies, at least in my book.
Maybe i expressed myself badly, it is a major trophy but i rate other competitions much higher so when ever we win at least one of the other trophies, season is successful result wise.

So, four trophies for Spurs then.

PL 2015-17 Cup
Finished above Arsenal Cup
Unbeaten at home Cup
Alli is better than Pogba Cup

Yeah league cup and europa aren't anyone's first choices, but the facts are we've not been challenging for the league or champions league. So for me, while we get back there, it's important to be challenging for the next best thing.

Not bad considering team was in transition, this would've been much better if Jose was given in charge immediately after SAF retired.
