OK half... good movements, good passing, but lacking cutting edge. Mata/Hernandez has been invisible but Young looks good again.

Ermm not really. How about you get your blinkers off before commenting? Young had two players closing him down but his perseverance got him a little luck and he put in a decent cross.

It really annoys me when people like you have preconceptions about certain players and will use any excuse to criticise
Totally, he was one of our best player in this first half.

Decent half. We're completely dominating them and I think we'll score a few in the second half. Herrera, Jones and Fletcher the stand out players so far IMO, front 3 not doing much or getting too involved. The rest are all decent.

a bit dull first 25 minutes but have gotten better since then. Some good stuff from Young and you can tell we want to to work the middle. Some good through balls, Hernandez' pass to Rooney and Fletcher's pass comes to mind right now from our through balls. We've been the better team but no end product

Jones and Smalling were both very good in that half and Herrera has been decent as well, Young probably the only other stand out but James has been solid, we just lack any penetration.

Young sees a lot of the ball but need to do more with it. Going forward, we're not fast and decisive enough

i still think we need a winger who can beat players. Wats happening is we have no one to open things up.

Herrera looked class. Mata and Hernandez invisible. Rooney just shocking; poor freekick, failed to control throughball, penalty against the post. Young ok(ish). Reece James safe but no cutting edge. Blackett a couple of poor moments otherwise looks decent.

hernandez is getting better with he ball but he tends to make a lot of runs without it not getting on the ball that much, rooneys touch is woeful, he is no robben, some of them two up front should make more runs to the sideline to make more room for mata. it is so diffiult to get through the middle, we dont have anderson anymore haha

Boring first half.
Almost like they're parking the bus... in a pre-season match.

Bet RvP will be our penalty shooter this season.

It's a dull first half but at least we seem comfortable with Valencia's pressing (not as tight as Liverpool's though..). Perhaps switching back to a 443 can provide some more penetration?

We're in complete control but can't find that final lethal pass, valencia seem content to sit back, an early goal in the second half would open the game up and make it interesting.

Pretty boring half but we are in control. Valencia approaching the game like an away CL leg. Sometimes feels as though we don't have many passing options up top, everyone is more spaced out so the intricate passing triangles aren't coming off like they were on tour.

Let him play so LVG can see how poor he is. Maybe we'll get a signing before the end of the night
Or maybe he'll put in a good performance and LVG will think of giving him a chance this season .

I've been very impressed by our back three. Never looked too uncomfortable.

Right now I want Cuadrado to take Young's place in that team.

Pretty much what I've been expecting. Lots of neat possession without much penetration. Without players who can carry the ball at pace and are willing to take people on and defenders who can be hesitant to come forward and are cautious when they do, unless the passing is really in sync it's hard to get in short of mistakes. Their attackers are happy to stand off the defenders which puts more pressure on our midfielders and restricts their options.

Still some positives and we can clearly control the game, need to get more pace in the passing though to open things up. I like Blackett and James is showing he could be decent backup at lwb/lb as well. Herrera showing he'll put a good shift in as well.

We need to get Mata more in the game. We did ok so far, we're gonna crack them for sure.

Put Adnan on for Cicha/

We have players out that will obviously improve us but its plainly obvious we lack a talent or two in certain positions, fix it.

disappointed with Mata.

Agreed what others have said, we need a quality winger to open things up a bit - Di Maria would be magical!
