Never been on the 'buy him fergie' bandwagon, and it's very unlikely that I ever will be. And I've also always thought he was overrated, which you can verify by my previous posts ITT.Which Bundesliga are you following?
Neuer was and is a world-class keeper. One game doesn't make a player and one game doesn't break a player.
But I don't expect anything else from this place. People jump on the 'buy him, Fergie!!!!!' train based on one single game and jump off it again based on one single game.
He has a habit of making a few mistakes every now and then though doesn't he?Which Bundesliga are you following?

I never insinuated any of that, you weirdo. I was laughing at the howler he just made.
Hes deffo well shit. Why are we linked with this guy? I cant believe that. What a howler. Fergie needs to feck off this idea and buy Buffon or Casillas or something. Absolute one game wonder. Utter shite.
This is the Neuer that I know from watching Bundesliga matches.

Aside from VDS, which keeper doesnt? He has a habit of making a few mistakes every now and then though doesn't he?
Most keepers do. We're blessed to have Van Der Sar because he makes less mistakes than pretty much any other keeper in world football. He has a habit of making a few mistakes every now and then though doesn't he?
I'm sure that has been a decisive factor in whether our scouts think he's good enough.Fm2011 ratings are perfect about Neuer
Neuer is generally a great keeper but of course at times he has a dip in form or makes a mistake. As great as vdS is, there were periods when even he would have the occassional blunder. Most keepers do. We're blessed to have Van Der Sar because he makes less mistakes than pretty much any other keeper in world football.
Whoever we get, however good they are, they will make mistakes, for a while anyway.
Not quite sure what your banging on here about, Neuer has been hailed as a superstar in the making since he was 18 at shalke. Hes grown and grown, still not reach his prime and has fantastic qualities that have been reconized worldwide. His game against us in the first leg was hailed by our manager as "the best hes seen against United"Never been on the 'buy him fergie' bandwagon, and it's very unlikely that I ever will be. And I've also always thought he was overrated, which you can verify by my previous posts ITT.
I just think it's a good thing that Unitedfans who barely watched him (other than highlights, in which anyone can look worldclass), now see first hand, that he lacks certain qualities.
Of course when someone points it out in here, you're shot down, because half the people in here can't get stop wanking over worldclass, flawless Neuer.![]()
Everyone kept wanking over him after the first leg, but now that he makes mistakes, everyone should just shut up?

Pity he has no handling capability and shite command. He has the soap on that glovesthe nearest thing to schmeichel i ve ever seen.... makes his presence felt in the box, great throw, out of this world saves and then the odd cock-up
Today was not a good day at the races for him sonny. He is much better than that and we used a tactic of trying to shield him from handling crosses, which drew his ire.Pity he has no handling capability and shite command. He has the soap on that gloves
This is a good post highlighting his weaknesses based on tonight. He's an excellent young keeper but does have weaknesses. If you look at the majority of our goals against him they were either slotted underneath him or close to his feet. He is brilliant at making diving saves or reflex saves but because he is so big he finds it difficult when trying to save with his hands low close to his feet or legs. A good example would be Andersons first goal where he actually stretched too far and the ball went under his arm. If the shot had been further away from him he would have saved it easily.
West Brom @ Old Trafford this season, our Edwin made a howler.Aside from VDS, which keeper doesnt?
It's the only one I can think of this season, I think both goals were his fault in that utterly weird game where we basically scored two goals for West Brom who didn't even try hard to get them. Weird stuff.West Brom @ Old Trafford this season, our Edwin made a howler.
So did Van der Sar at that same age. Remember his infamous Juventus spell. He has a habit of making a few mistakes every now and then though doesn't he?
VDS had the same problems at Juventus. In fact he was called Van Papera (Van Duck). He's an excellent young keeper but does have weaknesses. If you look at the majority of our goals against him they were either slotted underneath him or close to his feet. feck off it was. Gomes is in a class of his own. No one will ever come close to letting in the number of howlers he does. That second goal off Gibbo was Gomesque.
Cant expect super saves every game. So, lets move on.
To add to this point one thing that amazes me is the GK are always taught to save with their hands - this becomes very difficult when the ball is low down near your feet. Watch Casillas and the majority of Spanish GK and Barthez in his pomp and the number of saves they make with their feet. He's an excellent young keeper but does have weaknesses. Exactly. Neuer isnt the best keeper in the world, but he's up there and he's younger than those that are better than him. Bayern arent buying the finished article, but he's not that far away.If posters think Neuer's gaffs gives doubt to his quality, just wait until De Gea makes a few howlers next season.
Assuming he does sign for United.![]()
F365Bayern Munich are not desperate to sign Manuel Neuer and will happily wait until he becomes a free agent in 2012 if Schalke do not drop their asking price, according to Bayern's director of sport Christian Nerlinger.
Neuer recently announced he will not be extending his contract in Gelsenkirchen beyond next year and Bayern have already declared their interest in the Germany international.
However, Schalke are not willing to let him go on the cheap and are reported to have put a 25million Euro price tag on the coveted goalkeeper, but Nerlinger insists Bayern will not be put under pressure to pay an inflated sum for his services, especially since he will be free next year.
"Every player has his price, but Bayern have always been renowned for not letting ourselves be put under any pressure," he told the Tz newspaper.
"A healthy economic attitude is part of our concept, and that is not going to change with the transfer of Manuel Neuer."
The Bavarians have just extended the contract of their current number one Hans-Jorg Butt by a year and Nerlinger has enough faith in him remaining in goal next season, should the Neuer deal not go through.
"We have a stable solution, with or without Manuel Neuer," he added.
"We would have no qualms at all about going into the season with Jorg Butt as our number one."
Schalke would be equally happy to go into the new season with Neuer still between their posts, especially after their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League swelled the coffers enough to make any sale of the 25-year-old less financially essential.
However, their director of sport Horst Heldt does not want the issue to drag on until the end of the transfer window, as Bayern's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently hinted at.
"We want this issue off the table by the start of our pre-season training," he told Kicker magazine.
"We are certainly not going to be dealing with it until August 31. Everybody involved needs to know what their plans are and we want a clear resolution.
"That means that as soon as a decision has been taken, it will be stuck to."
Why is it brilliant news?Meh. He was good for a week but he's crap now, so Bayern can have him.
If he plays well at the weekend, though, this is brilliant news.
There's no plot really. Neuer is off to Bayern, the only question is whether Schalke will blink first or whether Bayern will pay up. I suspect if he doesn't get his move to Bayern this summer he'll just sit tight and go on a Bosman the following year.F365
The plot thickens.
This makes me think of a commercial they used to run in Canada, wherein an ice hockey goaltender is driving a taxi cab, obviously he's French Canadian and wearing full gear whilst driving...after one car honks at him he shouts out the window "learn 'ow to make a kick-save!" while shaking his blocker. To add to this point one thing that amazes me is the GK are always taught to save with their hands - this becomes very difficult when the ball is low down near your feet. Watch Casillas and the majority of Spanish GK and Barthez in his pomp and the number of saves they make with their feet.
Sometimes GK are too eager to dive to make a save when an oustretched leg though it may look ungainly is more effective.
