Surely he'd favour United over Chelsea, if it comes down to it? Play for a better manager, in more competitions, likely guaranteed starter, play alongside a better player in Casemiro, and in a better stadium.

Why can’t we do the loan with option to buy in the summer to get a few players done rather than upfront money now when we don’t have it? Surely it’s an option we can use.

Surely any player being approached by Chelsea now is thinking there isnt going to be consistent game time involved?

Is this just a loan? No option to buy? What’s his style of play like?

He'd be stupid to go to Chelsea on loan if the rumours are true and he has a choice.

If he comes to Utd he'd start games and has the chance of winning at least one cup.

Would assume Bayern want guaranteed money and we don’t want to commit to buying an injury replacement. Stick an obligation on him and if he’s shit we still have to shell out in the summer.

That's where you do an obligation to buy if he plays say 15 games.

What’s paul Merson on about! He wasn’t on our radar beginning of January and it’s panic! Well obviously we’ve just lost a crucial midfielder for months! Things change you clown!

I actually have watched the Bundesliga a bit this season because Union Berlins progress has been a delight to watch. Sabitzer is very comfortable on the ball and he is physical and he can score. He would compliment Casemiro enough to help us the rest of the year comfortably.

Could be a cracking signing this.

Replacement for Eriksen rest of this season and then he can displace Antony next season if he doesn't vastly improve.

It's clear we need a body in midfield given the injuries and lack of depth but won't be too excited. Not much to lose with a squad player from Bayern. Surprised Klopp hasn't been interested given they've been desperate for a midfielder.

He'll go to Chelsea then. They haven't done us on a deal yet.
Not necessarily. If it's a short-term loan option, he's got a shot at winning 3 cups with us vs nothing with Chelsea as he can't play for them in the Champions league, so United definitely more attractive.
No mention of Bayern sanctioning a permanent transfer yet, which is where Chelsea would likely blow us out of the water with their financial muscle.

Why don’t he talk about Chelsea spunking millions on a player that only signed for Benfica in July.

Would be as good as we could have hoped for following on from the Eriksen news. I think he's similar in style to Fred, but better technically.

We'll still miss Eriksen's creativity and guile, but will at least get a lot more energy and dynamism in midfield.

If he beds in well, a reasonable deal in the summer is probably likely, and he'd be a really useful squad player.

Very good player.

Good idea.

Not as creative as Eriksen, but he would be another worker in midfield.

Good mentality too.

Hope it will be done.
