I think playing off Martial and coming off the left suits him a lot better. He's better being direct and cutting inside instead of being leading the line and often being with his back to goal and a CB up his arse. His hold up play ain't the best but his movement is improving. Very good game today

Both are key, we’ll do ok with both + James but we’re fecked if anything happens to either.

Rashford is a ridiculous talent, so happy we have him.
Martial more so, if he gets injured we have to play Rashford there, and we all know he's useless as a CF.

Great game today. Lovely assist that can be shoved down the throats of those who lament fancy flicks. Sometimes that is the best option. Great finish too. Shame about his pens looking shaky. Gone from never having taken one, to looking certain, to being unconvincing in the space of seven months!

He should still be our main pen taker, it's the first time he's made an error really. The other he missed was fine technique wise, this one was just really odd.

This guy had the bottle against PSG, and he's normally got a fantastic striking technique. Keep him on penalties. Needs some backing.

Maybe if you watched more games you wouldn't make statements like this. He isnt even our 3rd best player. Most of his criticisms are correct but we also value what he brings to the team.

he played very well today and were hoping he keeps building on this performance.
I mean it in the sense that he’s probably offered more than the rest of our players in the last year or so.

You might argue that Pogba’s our best player, but he’s often injured and too frequently out of sorts when fit, and the same applies to Martial - who I rate a lot.

It’s no great compliment to Rashford I guess

Good for England, good against Liverpool and good again today. Maybe he´s back in form just in time to save Ole his job.

He's really good in that inside forward position, similar to Salah for Liverpool but from the opposite wing. He desperately needs space to be at his best though, and Norwich gave him all the time in the world at some stages today. When he's on form he seems to glide past players.

He's still young but he really needs to decide what type of player he's going to be. If he can improve his decision making and movement in the box, the skys the limit for this lad. His goal today was sublime. I know he had a lot of time and space but the touch and finish was so good, that was a difficult chance that he made look effortless. If his touch was anything less than perfect it was either taking him into Krul or forcing him wide at a worse angle. Looks so much better playing off Martial

8 goals/assists this season in the league so far.

Only KdB, Aguero, Vardy and Abraham have more. Rashford is ahead of Kane, Mane and Aubameyang.

I agree in our strongest team, inside left is his best position from which to utilise his strengths.

Thing is Martial and him can interchange during the game, so it’s not crucial either is fixed, given injury and rest gaps.

Bale would have been a good one year loan if we could have got him, to help them both develop more.

I’d like both to dramatically increase their conversion rates, and score many more OGS ‘tap ins’.

Sometimes it is the best option and it was a beauty of an assist, but what he's been criticized for is trying it way too often in situations that doesn't need it. As with most things Rashford he needs to learn when and where to try the difficult move vs the simple move.

He definitely isn't a striker, as he doesn't have that killer instinct nor positioning. But he had a very good game, and my MotM.

Would love to see Pochettino here and utilise Rashford similar to how he has used Son in the last couple of seasons.

Agree we need to see more of the simple stuff, scrappy goals and tap ins from those two. We seem to do a lot of very difficult things with ease but struggle at times to create easy opportunities. Rashford and Martial made the third goal look ridiculously easy, but so often in attack we will waste the easiest of opportunities.

If Martial and Rashford could aim for 40 goals or more a season between the two of them, that would be awesome.

Seems to be getting into a bit of form, I do really like his partnership with Martial. I do think our front three looks quite well balanced at the moment, we're quite lucky that James has adapted so well to the right wing.

Even against Chelsea, evidence was that Rashford’s flow wasn’t good. In addition to the goals for England and against Norwich, I think also there are signs that his general play is starting to pick up.

He's best used in a Mane type role really. Excellent when used correctly and gets his confidence back, and will be an excellent player for us long term IMO. Just needs someone like Martial up there so he can play off of them, and needs the right system and service into them.

Him and James on opposite flanks, running the channels is a nightmare of full backs and CB. Their pace is always gonna keep the opposition on its toes and help us in a high pressing game.

Looks far better not having the pressure of leading the line.

This. He can become a great player if we utilise him correctly.

Very happy for him to get a goal and assist yesterday. While he has his flaws in his vision, decision making and control in tight spaces, we have to appreciate that he does have the quality to produce in the final third. He's the type of player who isn't going to control possession or play the perfect through ball (usually), but he can produce that wonderful back heel to open up a scoring chance. But many forget that he has those qualities and berate. It's true that he gets selfish at times but that's young players for you. Going forward he should focus on using his burst of pace intelligently, keeping things simple and making an impact in the final third. And obviously working hard as he always done. Do these things and he'll contribute a great deal to us.

He is a decent player. Just need to take those freekicks off him. Krul went to the bathroom while Rashford was lining up the free kick as there was a bigger chance of Krul catching the ball there than on the pitch.

In that case then you might have a point. One thing I admire him for is his availability. He is always available and works hard for the team. I just want him to learn a bit quicker and stop making the same mistakes. It doesn’t matter that he is still 21 because he is a lot of games under his belt.

Looked good again and I thought he looked dangerous vs Liverpool. Good little player. Too much pressure giving him the main striker role, number 10 when he should be a support striker. Long may the form continue

And having plenty of space to run into, with two players who will help create it. Having someone technically solid like Martial to play off does him wonders.

He's just not someone who can perform against teams packing their own box. Until we get back to dominating games and stretching teams out that's going to be a problem.

He’s not a CF and he needs a break every now and again. Way too much on his shoulders to be asked to carry the attack for months on end. He’s had some woeful performances, and sometimes he needs taking out of the side to recharge his batteries. But the squad is so thin we have no choice but to play him every minute of every game.

He's a model professional, even though he's just 21 its clear that the graduates look up to him. Everyone wants to breakout the dream way Rashford did.

It's unrealistic, but hell, man can always dream. I dream of those three have a decent career with United.

His technique was off and let's not forget that Krul is a pen saving specialist. As far as keepers go with saving pens he is one of the best.

Why do our penalty takers rarely send the keeper the wrong way? Watching others, they score with ease. On the other hand, De Gea always seems to guess wrong. I can only think it's preparation as we're also horrible at corners, throw-ins and stopping crosses etc.

His first touch for goal was pure pure class. I hate to see him as no9 but i love him on left wing. He must stay there and not be moved around. Lets make him natural there instead having another "versatile" player. Same goes for Martial on no9.

The knives were out for him on here immediately after that penalty miss

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...EW-Marcus-Rashford-reaching-50-goal-mark.html
The knives are always out for him very fast. You can be sure if he doesn't perform next weekend and we lose a few will critisise him again and call him not good enough etc. I hope he continues his good form and shoot the haters up, long may it continue.

Really not sure about the penalty situation though, he has missed two in a row now. I will be a nervous wreck if he steps up for the next one again

Edit: no he hasn't missed two in a row, there is the winner vs leicester inbetween.

If he plays from the left he's much much better, Martial back fit shows he can link up with him very well, also James off the right.

He has to play on the left.
