BTW so many of his goals are his individual efforts. It's not like he is finishing off gilt edged chances. That's one of the reasons why I want Sancho. We would be creating so many more chances.
very good point. He's scoring so many goals through shear individual quality

He signed a contract in october until 2023 with an extra year option, feck that we need to give him an Atletico's Saul type of contract 10+ years contract, he's that good I dont want another Cristiano going to Madrid situation.

Funnily enough, both Barca and Real are looking for a long-term replacement for Suarez and Benzema.

It’s crazy just how talented he is. I’m not someone who watches the youth team, so when these guys come up into the first team it’s always completely new for me, and Greenwood has completely blown me away.

Before the break, everyone agreed we had a whole in the team up right. Greenwood spent his time without football bulking up and came back as a much stronger player. While the player who was singled out to fill that whole, came back slightly overweight and totally out of form.

I still want to sign Sancho, but not so desperately as before. Greenwood has arrived.

Edit: And btw, shirt nr. 11 is available.

He’s the best youth stepping up to senior football I’ve seen since Rooney.

If we sign Sancho I don’t think it’d be Greenwood I’d be benching.

These ease at which he scores these kinds of goals, he’s unreal. I think he can become one of our greatest ever, I really do. Feel like we’re seeing the start of something very special, but he is only 18 and you never know which direction a player can go in terms of their potential. I just get this really good feeling from him.

Probably will sound like I'm exaggerating it but if Greenwood can get into a good position for a tap in goals which will boast his goal tally, he is going to be unplayable. He has overachieved his XG due to his finishing, Xg suggests he should be on 2 goals instead of 8 goals which are remarkable.

Greenwood's two-footedness makes it worse things for the GK & DFs. They find it hard to guess which foot he is setting up for the next thing. Greenwood's 2nd goal against Bournemouth is an example, they were trying to block his left-footed but didn't realize he could score a goal with a lot of power using his weak foot, as natural as equally as his left-footed.

His finishing is beyond the world-class level as if it was auto-aim and two footedness is cheating code with the ability of beyond world-class level finishing, You can see finishing level between Martial and Greenwood, Greenwood makes Martial's finishing look inferior even though Martial is one of a best finisher in the league. Almost all of his goal was created due to his finishing rather than getting a goal on though vs GK, I said if he can get into position for tap ins, I believe he's going to take his game to next level, perhaps he will surpass Ronaldo and Messi in goal-scoring stats if he keeps up and remains free injury. Messi and Ronaldo were not like that at his age even though you can see their talents but their finishing is not close to Greenwood, not even close, they're far off.

Can't wait to see Greenwood's progress in a few years.

He is already one of the best finishers in the world. When he got that chance in the 1st half from that Bruno pass, I just knew he'd bury it.

He’s got clever movement, a sweet shot and that directness which means he’s got the makings of an incredible goal scorer. It’s still early days though and Ole needs to nurture and protect him.

He's also the first teenager since Rooney to score 15 goals in a season. Rooney got 17 in total in 2004/2005. Mason is now on 15

All that tells me is these type of stats don't belong in football.

The future is bright. The future is Greenwood

I'll leave now.

I can't believe how rounded and mature he is. We've seen plenty of talented youngsters but rarely this mature. I can't remember a game where I've thought he's been poor. Shocking at his age.

It means that he scores from positions that you would expect him not to, judging by the average.
Yeah I know I just think it's a load of shite  football isn't a game you can measure like that it's all about individual ability and who's to say it should/shouldn't be a goal.

For me every goal Mason has scored so far are nothing "unexpected" due to his ability.

His two footedness makes him such a dangerous player already, but it's his ability off both feet that is astounding. I genuinely expect him to score, or at the very least work the goalie, every single time the ball is at his feet within 20 yards.

This kid has just as much potential as Mbappe, and actually if you factor out Mbappe's pace, I think Mason's game is more rounded. I think he's an Old Trafford legend in the making, and he'll smash Rooney's record.

That second goal today by the way, the difficulty to hit that ball across the goal while running away from goal is just hard to even fathom. Brilliant.

How did I know the Mbappe comparisons would be made, this is like Rashford all over again. Mason's a great young player, there's no need to compare him with anybody, especially a player like Mbappe that's a freak when it comes to performances at a young age, and was actually more well-rounded than Mason, even if we take out pace (which is as ridiculous as asking to take out dribbling from a young Messi for comparisons).

I hope the huge and deserved hype doesn't get to him too much and he keeps his feet on the ground because this really felt like his coming out party and now all the medias around the world are going to gas him up.

But one thing is for sure, United have the best 18 year old in the world right now for forwards. He is a mega asset that clubs would pay a fortune to have on their team in the near future. Whatever you say about Ole, he's done a bang up job managing him and hopefully it doesn't get him thinking about other clubs down the line.

He's gonna get 20 goals isn't he? We knew he had the talent but to show it in his 1st season like this is a wet dream. He is on a roll and I think the break was good for him.
He can easily bag another 5 out of our remaining 5 league games, possibly 2 cup games and at least another 3 Europa games (unless we lose 6-0 )

The finishing was always there but it was whether he can handle the physicality, find the space and be aggressive enough to show it. He seems to be confident since coming on against Spurs. running at people more like he did in the under 18's and using his trickery to create shooting opportunities.

Mason for Euro 2021, we need to start the wave

If he has luck on his side to go with his unbelievable talent, I think we are looking at Utd’s all time record goalscorer. I think he could finish this season on 20 goals, which is absurd for an 18 yr old in his first season.

That also suggests he doesn't need the player to feed him a chance on through inbox closer to the goal line. XG collected large data of all forwards shots and assess every goal-scoring chance, and the likelihood of scoring. Closer they get to the goal line, it boasts Xg higher.

XG believed that he should be on 2 goals, if it was another player in his position to shot, they are very unlikely to score from that position due to their finishing and not many of them are footedness players. That show how lethal Greenwood can be with his shoot, it's like auto-aim installed in his finishing.

Fair enough, I guess it supports the fact that Greenwood is very special, just not a fan of too many stats in football.

Mbappe is like the Giannis Antetokounmpo of football. People Forget Mbappe was doing crazy shit as a 18 year old and smashing up Europe's best in the CL. At 18 he managed 26 goals and 14 assists in 44 games (2600 mins) and spearheaded a title over Zlatan's PSG.

I just now seen he has 30 goals and 17 assists in 33 games this year. he is matching Zlatan's rate at 21!

In 2016/17, Zlatan was at Utd, not PSG.

Anyway, we're at the point that whenever Mason pulls the trigger, you just expect him to at least hit the target. His accuracy is incredible.

He will be in the squad, no doubts.
Vardy, Sterling, Sancho, Kane, Ings, Rashford, Greenwood - that’s the attacking lot to choose from, from the looks of it

All that tells me is these type of stats don't belong in football.
I disagree, that stat tells you a lot. It just shouldn't be used in isolation, and should be taken within the context of what we're actually seeing. In Greenwood's case, he scores a lot of low-percentage shots because he takes shots early and from angles that the keeper doesn't expect. That plus his alarming accuracy means they all seem to just fly in.

I‘m very happy for the kid. He‘s been outstanding.
