Will take him in a heart beat. Weird that most fans did not mind us to sign Ivan Toney, Scamacca, Isak etc and if you think any of them is better than Depay then i don't know what to say. The only reason I can think of that people might have doubts is because his first sting did not go well but I am certain if we resign him again he will like to prove a point and will succeed. Plus he is coming here as a backup so why all the fuss?

I've sort of come round to it. I think getting him on a reasonable wage would be key so we're not too exposed on the deal. I have a feeling he'd be up for righting a few wrongs here and no doubt he's a more mature player and more of a striker than the flakey winger we saw previously. I think he could fill in for a couple of seasons without stopping us getting a proper longer term solution next year. It's similar to the Morata idea really, nobody would claim they're world beaters but if Ronaldo goes we need something.

Caftards always complain about buying any players but somehow cant help solve the issues of lacking players to help the team.

We have the problems now and the club have to solve it. Complaining and cant come up any name to help negate the problems wont do any good for the club.
Exactly. Many would rather buy no-one?

What kind of logic is that, would rather watch the club struggle than have options and then call themselves fans.

Why are people against this move so much? Sure he isn't world beater, but it is a pretty decent option on free, he is not bad, would gladly take him.

They seem to believe he's the same player who left 6 seasons ago.

His current version would be a good fit for ETH's system and it's not a surprise that ETH seemingly rates him and would be interested.

I clearly don't rate him and can't look past the fact that he isn't very good.
Yet you ignore his international record, his more than decent record for Lyon and Barca? Perhaps he's.... improved?

He has improved for sure since being with use first time round, but he couldn't have got much worse.

He's been playing in different leagues, so it's incredibly difficult to state that he will be good in the premiership again, certainly not without a specialist statistical algorithm, which I'd imagine you haven't got.

Doesn't require any of that to know he's better than half of the strikers in this league. He scored against City this week, can't be that bad.

His record for Barca wasn't decent though he ranks in the lowest 34 percentile for none penalty goals, 12 for assists, 11 for pressing.

Obviously much better in the French league but there's a good reason for that.

I’d rather Memphis on a free than Gakpo for more than €25m. On a loan especially.

I’d rather we kept the money than just spaff it on players who aren’t good enough, as long as the money is made available next year.

You never know who will emerge over the next 12 months.

Now imagine what his stats would be in the Dutch league!

I don’t hate the idea but personally I’d rather us bring in Antony in and use Rashford as a striker.
I thought the whole point is getting someone in who covers at least some of the things we’d lose with Ronaldo, whether that’s poaching, being cool in front of goal or aerial ability. Depay is quite similar to the rest of our forwards only slower.

Would take him on a 2+1 year kind of deal. He's experienced, has played for big clubs and is better than the other options available, especially as he's available on free.

I mean it's hardly bad either, considering Barca were in just as big of a mess as we were also.

It just makes me laugh that he's able to play for Barcelona, but suddenly he's available cheap and a good squad option, but we turn our noses up at it?

who are we happy with? Joao Felix for 120m on the bench?

Personally I wouldn't sign anyone who doesn't look like they may turn into our number one. In all likelihood whoever comes in will be our main striker. We already struggled to sell Martial we don't want another player we can't sell in a years time.

Either keep Ronaldo or sign someone worthwhile.

Even though rashford is only successful against 3 teams in the league?
Liverpool city Leeds
Everyone else will low block us and rashford might as well sit in the stands when that happens

Just having some fun. Patrick Kluivert and Steven Bergwijn (in a peaky blinders type hat ) are in the video
Yeah I noticed , I guess they're mates of the pitch .
I'm not a fan, but it's probably a more interesting and constructive way to spend his free time than what most footballers get up to. As long as his music career is a hobby he does for fun and doesn't impact his footballing career, whatevers.
Yeah credit to him, he seems to be passionate about it and power to him pursuing what he's passionate about.

It's still kinda bad but he seems to be having fun so I guess it doesn't matter.

Wouldnt take him. Is Belotti still a free agent? If we're at a stage to be considering Depay we might as well take Belotti instead.

Please, please, no! Don't care if he's gotten better, he was tough to watch for us. Rather blood some of your youngsters. If he comes in and proves me wrong, so be it; I will happily eat my words based on our current situation.

Depay fits us much better I think. At this stage of his career he is actually a pretty decent player. Dare I say, if he does come I reckon he will outscore Martial.

He has improved a lot since he left us. And with Martial so injury prone and Ronaldo possibly leaving, it would make sense to take him for the price.
I see this banded around and I don't buy it, he's just played in worse leagues and has struggled to have an impact in the Spanish league. Juventus were set to sign him on a free but he asked them for daft money and they've pulled out now, so even they think he isn't worth the bother, and that's the Italian league...

What is this based on though? Someone else pointed to how he wasn't actually that good at Barcelona, and it's easy to look good in France.

Belotti has turned down Wolves, Inter and Milan recently, he said he want's to work with Jose at Roma. He's waiting for them to shift a player on so they can sign him up, pretty much done deal.

On the other hand he is the 4th highest scorer for Holland, only 1 behind Kluivert and 3 behind Huntelaar. and I'm not saying he would be first choice but as back up to Sancho, Rashford and Martial

Utd will be a laughing stock if after everything this summer we end up with this complete utter waste of space. Useless crap.

His playing style. I don't think it's "easy" to look good in France. We just sent Martial there on loan and how did he turn out? Yeah he's no world beater but as a rotation/backup option he is much better than someone like Igahlo. He does pretty well for Netherlands as well.
