Man United have been struggling in the league. There’s no way to sugarcoat it, they’ve not got the results they deserve all season. Suddenly they have Liverpool in the league. What a game to prove they’ve still got it.

Unfortunately, united capitulated. On this day Liverpool battered Tottenham and got the win. It was inevitable. The stats were ridiculous. Liverpool had a mental amount of shots. The last time they’d had as many? Mourinho’s last game at United. Liverpool humiliated United. Ole though? He wouldn’t allow that. Despite not being backed and having a horrendous injury crisis, his team refused to be beaten by a Liverpool team looking to break records. It might not mean much in terms of League table, but to United’s fans, the fans who had been let down for half a decade... it meant everything.

Of course there were fans who didn’t agree. There always are. The more unintelligent in the fan base called towards a relegation battle. They were ignored. As they should be. United are currently in seventh despite having a lower net spend than any of their rivals. Their wage bill had been slashed. After United battered Norwich many were impressed with Rashford (revitalised under Solskjaer) or McTominay (twice the player he was under Mourinho) but the largest credit had to go to James, AWB and Maguire. United's worst performer? Fred. An expensive reminder of Mourinho’s legacy.

In the 87th minute United supporters launched into a massive chant. It wasn’t the name of any of the scorers or the great defence. It was the name of Ole. He has the support of United’s proper fan base. A far cry from the prior three managers, united fans were always worried about them. If united hold their nerve... could be onto something very special here.

United have a very young squad. Unlike under Jose, united now have regular young players playing every week. Despite missing penalties (consistently) fans are happy with the football that is being played. Greenwood, McTominay, Williams and Tunazebe look great. Players such as Matic, Valencia, Dalot, Fellaini, Lukaku and Sanchez have been eradicated. The mistakes of the past have been eradicated.

Ole’s United are coming up the hill. The opposition fans are worried.

 We beat Norwich FFS. Ole has a long long way to go to prove he's good enough for this job given he's been crap thus far.

This is the story of Andrea Pirlo. This is the story of Charlie Adam

What?
Bar today and Chelsea, the football has been pretty poor.

We did well v Palace, Wolves, Liverpool, Southampton.

We've missed penalties. We've now missed four in the league. Apart from the injuries and missed chances, we have looked solid.

Like I said, under Mourinho Liverpool set a record for shots against us in the league. That hasn't happened under Ole.

We lost at home to Palace.
Couldn't beat a woeful 10men Southampton.

Quite a nice attempt v Liverpool, though cowering in defence for longer than any of us would have liked
Decent display v Wolves and should have won.

About 4 decent displays in what is it, 14 games so far?

If VAR was fair v Palace, we'd have scored seven.

'crap'?

He's the first manager since LVG who has improved on his predecesor.
He's only the second after LVG. You make it sound like there have been 15. Mourinho won the Europa and achieved a top 4 finish. As much as I didn't like the dour one, ole has a long wat to go to match that.

And, absolutely crap. Especially post being confirmed as permanent manager. Today was very nice though.

We did jump to the top half of the table, so they should be worried

Well, let’s focus on that. Because as of right now, there’s plenty of reasons to be positive!

Must have been annoying having to wait so long to post this

This thread is going to age well, like the one that mocked fans who wanted more signings which now apparently is common sense.

I would say this deserves a stand to be named after Ole at the very least.

Happy with today. But I've not seen enough from ole to be that positive to be honest. I'm much more wary than that.

Yet another embarrassing thread which will be bumped every time we lose. You just can't help yourself can you?
