I have said it before a few times, the problem with our most talented players (and Pogba is our best) is inconsistency. Martial, Rashford, Etc. I said if Pogba can be consistent, he would be the best in the world. That is how insanely talented he is. What has impressed me about him under Ole is how consistent he has been over the kast 10 games and that has made the world sit up and pay attention to him. I hope Tuesday was not reverting back to type. Yes, he was marked out but one could see he was not at his dangerous best even then.

Flat track bully , bullying farmers when he wasn't down tools , but went missing against world class player. Has always been like that. Just check his UCL final performance against Barca
Still people spout this nonsense.

He actually played well in in this game. Shouldve been awarded clear penalty by the ref (fouled by Alves ironically )but ulimately Barcelona was too good and ran the game even with Pirlo and Vidal in the midfield.
Doesn't change the fact, pogba gets owned against top opponents, as his positioning and his control aspect of the game is utter tosh.

"Flat-track bully."

Find it astonishing how people still say this after watching him for years. Particularly the ones who have seen him coming through the reserves, at Juve and even in our first team. PSG overloaded the midfield and marked us out of this game, props to Tomás. Veratti and particularly Marquinhos dominated the half spaces and didn't allow Herrera and Matic (who clearly lack the technical ability to resist press) to play a single pass through the middle. The only passing pattern I observed in our entire attack was Matic/Herrera to Young/Shaw and then whip a wild cross/pass it back to De Gea. Martial and Pogba, both didn't get a sniff at the ball, let alone clear opportunities. We need a technician/high volume passer to come anywhere close to operating at this level. Or else, this will keep being a regular occurrence.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Need to improve next immediately:
  • reckless challenges.
  • 'shielding the ball' pog-style motions.
  • temperament (I think he's a hothead).
Hmm, "improve" sounds weird, maybe "adjust" fits better.

Great effort again, but alas those challenges of him is too reckless. He's too important to the team to get himself suspended.

Many of his yellow cards are needless can be avoided. The red cards he got are well deserved. Before this vs Alves(?) red-card worthy not double yellow tbh, it was vs Bellerin, don't remember other red card incidents.

It's not the first time, he did this way before this. I like his good fighting effort, but need to calm himself down when he's pissed/agitated/etc. Use those strong emotions to win, not hurt others costing yourself and team loss. Expecting more opposing teams to target him more and more now.

It's like saying a fullback doesn't need to provide width, overlap and provide good crosses as his primary job is to defend.
Not an accurate comparison. The midfield gets delegated. So long as the midfield does its job as a whole, it's fine. What are you expecting really? To have all 3 midfielders control the game?

They're regurgitating whatever lazy analysis suggests that control of a game boils down to a single, individual player. PSG have better players in more positions and they exploited United's weaknesses, specifically on the flanks. The passing from the back is still a glaring problem that infects a lot of the buildup. Shaw is a low risk passer, Same with Bailly. Lindelof is not assertive enough. Young is just garbo. Hererra is too basic. Matic too laboured. Simply put, United's creativity is too dependent on Paul and too easily shut down. There was no controlling that game with that lineup. The best case was some individual moment of brilliance but long spells of control? Nah.

He's a very different player from Verratti. He's pretty much a flair player, big in moments, but doesn't really control the tempo in the big games, that's just not his game. More of a Lampard than a Scholes. But I think anyone sensible probably knew that already.
Spot on. You make me miss Scholes, having a prime Scholes next to Pogba would keep us winning titles. We'd be proper contenders in the Champions league fir several years

Regarding Pogba. I have no issues with him having a shite game. He's been fantastic for during last few months. He has aspects of his game that he needs to work on. However he deserves some patience

Last 12 games 9 goals and 6 assists from Pogba the virus. Messi meanwhile has 13 goals and 2 assists in his last 12 games. Which just highlights how brilliant an in form played in the right position Pogba is.

He has turned on beast mode since OGS turned up. He is something else right now, a pleasure to watch.

That header was just fabulous!

Wonder when we'll hear about him not doing it in the big games again.
Slow start but after 15 minutes or so he grabbed the game by the balls and put in a masterclass.

Absoultely magnificent player who stepped up against a team that we have a poor record against, especially at Stamford Bridge.

Game changer with world class abilities.

With more stable midfield and reasonable depth he got a chance to sustain this full season.

Fantastic player. An absolute monster. I hope one day we get a world class winger and deep lying playmaker to control the midfield so he can happily play his game.

Monstrous player. Technically as good as anyone in the league and physically as good as anyone in the league. Thanks Juventus and thanks Mourinho.

His fitness level is at monstrous level.

We never had a midfielder this perfect. Let's just enjoy Pogba for years to come!

Providing he doesn’t get injured, he’s gonna hit 20+ in goals and in assists by the end of the season.

When you consider Mourinho was starting Fellaini ahead of him and people tried to justify that

He was OK that game, but not as good as Marchisio. Better than Vidal and Pirlo though.

He's been the best player in the league since Ole took over IMO.

His production has been insane as well since Ole got the job. Has to be up there with Messi and Ronaldo in the same time period.
