You seem quite annoyed he doesn't have a song.. I dont remember fan favs like Beckham, Yorke, Rio or schmeichel having songs either. Pogba is mentioned in the 'Oles at the wheel' one we sing at the minute.

John OShea isnt a club legend (He was liability alot of the time) but we have a novelty one for him. Songs just work for some players and dont work for others.
He is our best player on the pitch ( our only world class player ) and off the pitch ( Adidas poster boy ) but he doesn't have a song. It's weird, no ?
Maybe Beckham, Yorke, Rio or Schmeichel didn't have a song too but they weren't booed.

so loyal not with everyone...they booed him because Mourinho called him a virus ;)
I'd just give up in this thread tbh, I have. Fed up of arguing with a rabid pack of dogs that are looking for blood every week.

I'm sure Mourinho will be sending them a birthday card.

There's no comparison between us and Madrid fans. Ours booed one player who was underperforming and severely downing the tools for his team, and did nothing to the club so far, and did it once even though he deserved it even more actually. Madrid fans boo their fecking legends who brought them loads of major trophies and just because of 1 or 2 poor performance.

Stop shitting on our fans mate.
Madrid's fans boo every players. Our fans rarely boo our players but they booed Pogba. So I find funny that some people are trying to warn Pogba about madrid's fans.

Ah yes, it was big bad Mourinho. I wonder why Fellaini got booed as well even though he is a cherished player by Mourinho

Pogba got booed because he was taking the piss, performances like Spurs, West Brom, Southampton. Mourinho called him a virus THIS season, he was already booed before that.
A long list of players will have been booed before Pogba if it was down to performance. He was our top scorer halfway in october. It's quite clear why they booed Pogba specifically.

He was booed once here. They will boo him every game.

KDB is a real super star that rises to the occasion and drives his team forward. Pogba is just a luxury lazy player who plays well only when the other players are having the game of their life then sinks lower with them when they are not performing.
So does aguero,Siva, fernandinho, sterling and b.silva. Jesus! You make it sound like he's playing with the likes of young, rashford and lingard were he is the superstar. His manager is pep fecking guardiola and by the way I can't remember him doing this in champions league or in wordcup final or Europa league final so rubbish statement.

He was already booed before this season. Moaninho causing fans to turn against him is a pure fabrication. The OT crowd had doubts about him long before Moaninho had a meltdown.

Also interesting to see more activity in the Pogba thread than DDG even after he cost us the game directly..
Imagine trying to act like he's not the scapegoat.

Shocking post. De Gea has given us several years of top performances, the best shot stopper in the world by a mile and top 5 in the world in his position until this season. You can say with confidence that De Gea having a howler is out of the ordinary. Pogba has put in shocking performances regularly for us. I thought he was fine against Barca, young and De Gea cost us that game. But, he spents significant parts of a season doing feck all and significant parts being the best player on the pitch. Way too temperamental.

Not out of the ordinary. He's been flopping since the world cup but the fans are reluctant to get on his case because he was in their minds the best keeper in the world.

Pogba was the one of the most productive midfielders of Europe this season yet our fans finds reason to complain even when we won!! You can check the comments after the west Ham game and Everton etc

This shouldn't need explaining, its very simple and most fans can understand it. A player that has performed at a high level for a long time for us will get more leeway than a player that hasn't. It took Pogba 3 months of playing at the level we expect for him to put in multiple poor performances again. De Gea has been performing for us for several years.

But but but Pogba doesn't top the running stats  Pogba doesn't make 1000 tackles a game  He's a mercinary and must be sold to Madrid with immediate effect! All hail Jose!!!

..or maybe its because over the last 5 years hes single handedly saved us on multiple occasions pulling off world class saves while the rest of the team ran about like headless chickens. Without DeGea we probably wouldnt even have been in the Champions League this year. And wouldnt have any recent trophies to our name

Are you a complete idiot?

Even without the de Gea mistake, we're losing the game 0-3 and with an away goal. Pogba failed to protect us from conceding or helping us to create a goal. De Gea has saves us on dozens of occasions every season. Pogba hasn't even had 10 great games in a United shirt!

Just watched one of those FullTimeDevil fan-cams and a supporter in the ground said Pogba was the only player to not go over to the fans at the full time whistle and went straight down the tunnel.

What a disgrace Pogba is. Can't stand him to be at the club any longer and it would be an even bigger disgrace if he was appointed captain next season.

He gave Rashford 2 golden passes alone! It's amazing how forgetful you guys are :D If only we had players that could finish their chances, Pogba might get some recognition.

This. It's so fecking obvious, I have to question someone's intelligence for not seeing why De Gea gets less criticism. He's been our player of the season 4 seasons now. But apparently Pogba deserves the same treatment because he shows up for half a season.

Its pretty obvious what is happening. Some fans drool over players with talent and treat them like Gods. Martial gets similar treatment, but even his biggest fans have gotten fed up with him because he's not improved in 3 seasons. I'm sure next season when Pogba does the same thing again (plays amazing for a while and plays horrible for a while) they'll be talking about how our £70m midfielder we bought in the summer is holding him back.

Deschamps said that France won the world because of Pogba. He came at the training camp with this goal and carried the group ( Deschamp literally said that).
Zidane badly want Pogba at Madrid, every single midfielder in the world is willing to go to Madrid and he chooses Pogba as his target number one. Not CAF favorites like Eriksen, KDB or Verratti but Pogba.
Juventus despite still winning the italian league every years, playing another CL final after Pogba's transfer, signing Ronaldo etc are still obsessed with Pogba. And it isn't only the board. The media too since they are talking about Pogba's comeback every day since 3 years. The players too, ask Chiellini and Dybala.

They must be a reason. But here he's the scapegoat. What an irony. While De Gea that cost us a lot of games this season and never shone in the biggest stage as opposed Pogba ( World Cup, Euro Cup and Champion League ) is the hero. Maybe we have chosen the wrong hero and that's the reason of mess in this club since 2013. The same De Gea that became a meme in Spain because of his poor performances since 5 years....

The Ozil-ification of Pogba is complete. Disappearing for most of the game is fine as long as you create a few chances in a 10 minute spell where everything is going well for you. It was a 5/10 performance, the moment things got tough he went into his shell.

You are rambling. Who the feck is making him a scapegoat? It would be very difficult to find someone say that Pogba is the reason we are where we are. Young/De Gea has been blamed for the Barca defeat while Woodward, the Glazers and Mourinho are being blamed for our general state of affairs.

You probably think criticizing Pogba is making him a scapegoat. You probably don't even understand what the word means.

What boggles my mind is that most of our fans want him to be some messiah on the field and carry games on his own. And they want him to do that each and every fecking game. It's starting to be lame and pathetic thinking.

I still wonder what players perform to godly levels of football each game, other than dunno, Leo, Cristiano, Degea(excluding the last 3-4 games), Hazard(maybe).

It's so strange to see people thinking that he should perform each game. Nobody does that, Messi doesn't do that in a team full of fecking amazing players. Messi, on his good day, can't do it without his team so, my big question is, why should Paul?

I still think it's a bit sad that people can't understand that for a player to really "carry" a team, he should have a particular setup around him, a very fecking good one. And no, we're not even close to being a even decent setup.

And what really pisses me off is that people want to sell him. Well that's plain crazy. He creates by far the most chances, the most assists, the most key passes, and, in most of our games, he fecking runs back when players like Lukaku, Martial and Sanchez stand around with their dicks in their hands. Removing Paul from this team would take us to 7-8-9th place.

The way I see it today is that he's wasting the best years of his career in a club only focused on winning on the money front and not on the sporting one and that's sad. It's sad because, in the right setup, he could really be a player we can remember for his outstanding ability.

Dunno, Pogba threads are so cringe to read these days. Some people still drool about Roy Keane too much in a totally different era.

He was at that level for longer than 3 months btw. By january of last year he had collected 9 assist in 13 matches until the Mourinho problems. In his first year he led the team to the EL victory. DDG has been here longer and the style of play helped him. Mourinho set us up to defend and invite pressure. LVG was defensive too. When we got an attacking manager like the same as Spain he started to flop.
On current season is worse than any season Pogba had actually. Real Madrid and the top clubs doesn't want him now.

if he isn't the scapegoat, why I keep reading that we should sell him ? why is his thread the first to be bump every single time when we lose ? why do people act like he's the reason of Mourinho sacking ? ( Mourinho would have been sacked after he benched him against Sevilla if Pogba had so much power ) etc

Apparently it was Mourinho problems and not his shambolic displays at Spurs, Southampton and West Brom. Also this idea that he led us to EL victory is pure nonsense. Zlatan and Mkhi were our key players in the EL not him. Lovely of you to forget De Gea's 12/13 season where he was the best keeper in the league under SAF, doesn't fit your crack pot theory.

He was great agaist Newcastle etc...
Zlatan was injuried before the semi in Mkhi was good but Pogba was the man. He bullied the Ceots Vigo midfield and was great defensively in the final + scored the first goal in the final.

1) Pogba is a unique player, difficult to find midfield balance with, will fetch a big fee due to his quality. That is why you can sell him

2) Most players get bumped when we lose. Pogba also got called the best midfielder in the world when he was unplayable for a 2 months. He's not being made a scapegoat.

3) Pogba was probably part of the reason why Mourinho was sacked, but it had little to do with Pogba. Moaninho went to war with Pogba and lost. I don't think Pogba had any problem with Mou until Mou started going crazy by taking away the captaincy.

Zlatan was injuried before the semi. Mkji was good but Pogba was the man.
Based on your posts in this thread I won't take that opinion seriously. Mkhi and Zlatan's goals carried us in that run, our midfield was nowhere near good enough during that EL run.

Most passes, most shots, scored the opener of the final and carried the team past Celta. The best keeper of 2012/13 was Hart. He kept 18 clean sheets

Zlatan scored 4 goals in 5 games. 1 goal against Rostov ( Pogba assist ), 3 against Saint Etienne in 1 game ( deflected free kick, penalty and tape-in...awful hattrick )

Mkhi scored 6 goals in 11 games half of the goals didn't matter...

Pogba played all the EL games ( 15 ) , he was the number one in almost all the stats ( touch, chances created, take-on...).

He carried the team on his back and was fairly named player of the tournament.

Not sure what you mean about each and every game but it would be nice to see him carry the team maybe just once?

Honestly - apart from walkovers against cannon fodder - when have you ever looked back on a game and thought, thank feck for Pogba, we wouldn't have won that without him? Thinking of crunch matches like last night. Big games against top opposition.

I can only think of two occasions and in both those games his flaws were just as apparent as his strengths. When we beat Arsenal 3-1 at their place in the league. It was a great run from him to set up the Lingard goal that settled the game for us. But he was also (at least partly) responsible for Arsenal having insane amounts of possession and relentlessly peppering our goal (De Gea's famous double save from Lacazette/Sanchez) and ended up getting a red card. The other was the comeback win against City. Although, again, this was a game where our dysfunctional midfield handed the opposition almost complete control for the vast majority of the game. Pogba's first half performance in that match was a disgrace.

Are there any other MOTM performances against top teams I've forgotten? Genuinely curious. He's supposedly best/most expensive player and he's played 87 games for us. Surely I'm forgetting some obvious ones here?

Because if we go to the opposite extreme - big matches against top teams where he was either ineffectual or actively bad - well then it's an awful lot easier to start coming up with examples...

I don't think he works in an unbalanced side. It's also not a coincidence that he plays well when our attack clicks but drops away when they don't.
Not having a balanced right hand side funnels everybody to the left which limits Pogbas movement and the out balls he can provide. Scholes used to drop a shoulder, slip a ball the other way or play cross field balls to stretch the play. Imaine he didn't have anything on the other side and how limiting his scope could harm his output.
Now I'm not a big Pogba fan, I think the idea of having Pogba blinds fans to the reality of having him but he does have his uses that's not being exploited in our current set up.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Rashford and Fellaini scored the winners against Celta.

Man of the match in the 1st leg: Marcus Rashford
Man of the match in the 2nd leg: Fellaini

Man of the match in the final: Ander Herrera

Number of man of the matches in the EL:
Mkhi - 3
Zlatan - 1
Rojo - 2
Rashford - 2
Herrera - 1

Mkhi scored in 4 knockout games in the EL. No way can Pogba be considered above him in that tournament.

He puts chances on a plate with a great consistency. Who's fault is it if our strikers like Ibrahmimovic, Lukaku, Rashford can't finish their dinners? His chances created is matching with all these midfielders that CAF likes to wank over like Eriksen, KDB etc yet it's pogba fault for not carrying 10 other players..

Bollox.

Dunno the stats under Ole but one of the few things we did well under Mourinho was convert a higher % of chances than our rivals.

Question aimed at everyone, not just the person I quoted.

Big games, against top opposition, where Pogba stood up to be counted. Proper game changing performances. The sort of thing you'd expect from the best player at a football club.

Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller?
He was fantastic in Spurs away this season, Chelsea away twice and was our best player v Juve at home.
He was fantastic because he kept it simple. Paul falls between two arguments here. If he plays well and keeps it simple then it's not really remembered but when he does express himself in a marauding fashion he has to be 100 percent on it or he gets criticized for it.

Big games, against top opposition, where Pogba stood up to be counted. Proper game changing performances. The sort of thing you'd expect from the best player at a top football club.
