Perhaps time for a couple other Lewandowski mentions again after his dreadul performance today... Same shit every week!
Initially at City? Didnt he get injured just a few games into his first season. He played just like 3 games before he got injured for the seasonHe was a machine at Monaco, performing highly in the Champions League, and even initially at City. Litany of knee injuries since then have impaired his mobility and rhythm.

That is actually entirely in line with his G/xG ratio, which is the gold standard quantitative metric of clinical finishing. Statistically, he's an above average finisher and not much more. He scores buckets because he plays for probably the world's best team, where he gets a metric ton of chances in his domestic league.Lewandowski. Never watch the Bundesliga, but every time I watch him the CL/World Cup/Euros he seems to always miss easy chances and doesn't seem to do a lot.
Early days he was good off the bench. You get the impression he was a million miles better than his school pals, knew it, but can't believe it doesn't translate to the PL.Demarai Gray
That's why I said 'even initially' - just in case anyone wanted to make the point he couldn't cut it in the PL, rather than the knee problems that destroyed his top level.Initially at City? Many of those Monaco guys aside Bernardo Fabinho and Mbappe have been complete busts everywhere else. Sidibe Bakayoko Lemar Mendy
Apparently Cavani was a 30+ goal a season striker for years. But whenever I watched him live he was bang average.
Cavani - I always used to see his name pop up on scoresheets yet every time I watched him, he seemed like a useless donkey.
Rui Costa - Always highly talked about back in the day yet never performed when I watched him play.
Cavani
This.
Cavani, always scores goals but is mostly useless anytime I see him play.
Cavani
Happy now?Same, every time I have watched a match he has been involved in I can't remember him doing anything not watched him a great deal tbh though.
To be fair that thread was about players you haven't seen play well and I had never seen Cavani play well. But I did say in the match day thread that he's won me over and not solely because of today.Happy now?
Missed the match, so still haven't seen him play well.Happy now?
Joke's on you. I saw him play well midweek...Happy now?
Mine was totally tongue in cheek if you look at the timing of the post.Happy now?
Not really, I didn't watch it happen this time either.Happy now?
Was brilliant against Atletico in CL's quarterfinal.Has anyone seen Upamecano have a good game?
Me too, never seen him play wellIcardi
If you havent watched Totti play well its probably because you havent watched him in other games than against United. Sublime player with a trick or two, or just a nice weighted pass in almost any match in Serie A if you ever watched Roma.so much this.
i see dybala also belonging to overrated ss/am from serie a who will flop in england whenever i see him. for all the reputation around his finishing i have seen him bottling penalties.
He had a great 6 months in 07/08 which ended around the time of the Eduardo leg breakCan't recall Flamini ever playing well.
He's the new Delli All, Richardson.Mason Mount
I just never got it with him myself. I was surprised Milan bought him and was even more surprised when Wenger decided to bring him back.He had a great 6 months in 07/08 which ended around the time of the Eduardo leg break
The PL is probably at its lowest ever when it comes to «top» defenders. Back in the days it was easy to name five great ones, now I’m thinking van Dijk and it kind of stops. Yeah Dias is probably up there too, let’s see next season and all, Laporte used to be great... but then it really stops. My point is, Upamecano would easily start for United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, all the other teams. Is he great, nah.. but he’d walk into all of those teams.Looking at upamechano vs US & Liverpool tonight, I think anyone who wanted him bar bayarn who got him have dodged a bullet. He wouldn't live in the Premier league
I think we could get other players though at half the price. The PL is probably at its lowest ever when it comes to «top» defenders. Upamecano is still a lot about potential. He just turned 22, but he has all the attributes you want. He's comfortable with the ball at his feet whether it's passing or dribbling, fast, strong, can handle himself in the air (but not elite in the air or anything), he's a good 1v1 defender, and he's had some notable big game performance. He's younger than Tuanzebe, so of course he'll have some bad performances too, especially coming up against better teams than Leipzig like he often does in the CL.Looking at upamechano vs US & Liverpool tonight, I think anyone who wanted him bar bayarn who got him have dodged a bullet. Upamecano had a 45-50m release clause. Who are we going to get for 25m? Unless it's someone out of contract, or a lower division player, you aren't.I think we could get other players though at half the price.
