Why would he lie about it when we never really provided competition to them and why would someone like Mourinho not hit back strongly at anyone supposedly trying to destabilise the club? I clearly remember Mourinho smirking about it when he was asked in the press conference and now I believe he knew already that Pogba was angling for a move almost straight away after his first season here.
For the record, I despise the Portuguese manager for what he has done to United so I'm not some Jose acolyte trying to defend his actions. But I suspect that a lot of his problems with Pogba were real and had a serious reason behind them.
I believe him. Guardiola doesn’t strike me as someone who would just lie about something like that. The only one saying he lied is Raiola. I’d trust Guardiola over Raiola any day of the week.

I don't like Mourinho and was delighted he was sacked but it's always been clear it wasn't 100% his fault.
Yes he's wanted out since the fallout with Jose and probably the 2-1 defeat to City which was the season before last. We had a great start but fizzled out around Christmas and lost track with City. Probably clear to Pogba we were not going to overhaul Pep and Abu Dhabi anytime soon.
The time to go for both Pogba and Jose was before the start of last season, certainly Jose who was always going to start smashing the house up.
Both Pogba and Jose have been awful for us off the pitch but the blame is due to the board for bringing Jose in. We had all the warnings at Chelsea and somewhat at Madrid. Jose brings Pogba back who he can't handle. At Chelsea he tried to prove a point by bringing in Falcao after failing at United yet that backfired too.

We also brought in Di Maria under LVG, who everyone knew wanted PSG, a waste of space disruptive player for us who we sell to PSG 16m less than we paid 12 months before. Pogba was wanting Madrid or Barca while at Juve but they only wanted to pay 60 million. Pogba was a statement signing by Jose of past United failings and not a surprise to me the statements he makes to the board in the Spurs game.
A decent board or director could've avoided all this dodgy business.

His intentions must have been known at the end of the season and we must have had a plan in place for a replacement. If we were a well run club then Id we expect an A list signing - Eriken for example + one or two others, then the announcement that Pogba is leaving.
I'm more expecting a Pogba announcement a week before season starts for 110 and a panic last minute panic buy. 50 mill for Longstaff.

Why wouldnt Young smile though.. he hasnt been good enough for years but will play another season for Manchester United while also getting a lot of money for it. Young has every reason to smile.
Pogba should be in a team capable of winning the biggest things in football but he is stuck in a team where Lingard will most likely be the starting RW next season.
I support Pogba, but Manchester United is the one that deserves the best players, not the other way around indeed.
We should sell him if he doesn't want to be here, which certainly seems to be the case. He's a good, sometimes great player, but he's not irreplaceable. I don't really blame him either, he has the opportunity to go somewhere else to win trophies and it's pretty unlikely he'll do that with us, so fair enough. It shouldn't be a mammoth task to build a good midfield without him, and it might even be easier to do so without him in terms of balance.
I was devastated when Pogba left for Juventus, now I can't get rid of him soon enough.

There is a general opinion on here that Pogba is worth 150m. If that is true, then prime Modric is easily 200m.

100% wish him well. Never worked out for him here and he could of at times offered more but this is not a club you want to offer the prime of your football career to. Look at the ambition of the club, if City finished 6th, would they have signed a couple of unproven young lads? I would be extremely disappointed if we accepted Bale as part of the deal. If this deal happens really would not want us take Bale due to age, injury problems and ridiculous wages which I've read are around £480,000 per week, which we were supposedly willing to pay although I have read figures in excess of £600,000 which seems extremely unlikely, if these figures are to be believed. Only way I would take him would be on a pay as you pay contract on loan with significantly reduced wages which I couldn't ever see happening.

I've talked about this phenomenon for a while now. It's happening in other sports as well. I think the rise of player empowerment is contributing to it, as well as fans being able to get closer to players through social media.
I wouldn't be surprised if star player forums start to emerge, like the Pogba forum.

I've already used the example of Robson for us in the 80s, and Gerrard for yourselves in noughties.
You can maybe argue that you need good players to be at your optimum, but to say you need them to perform full stop is so stupid, I don't even have the words to adequately describe the scale of it.
If Pogba was giving just a 7/10 every game in effort and application, let alone skill and performances, I'd say you know what, fair play it isn't working out. But he's been barely 6/10 (EDIT - that's being kind - more like 3s and 4s) in most of the big games he's been involved in and too prone to going missing in the smaller games where he evidently can't be arsed.

Don't you think that Pogba would have been a lot better if United had surrounded him with much better players around? I'm thinking about how Pogba excelled at the world cup, give him a very good box to box midfielder and quality runners around and things will happen.
When United brought him home, i think that Pogba thought United would bring in every summer a few world class players. At first it looked that way with Ibrahimovic, the next window was a bit underwhelming but last season and so far it's been an absolute joke.
Pogba wants to play in a successful team and of course the club has to be ambitious. At United it's been mostly talk, there's no Griezmann, Mbappe or Dembele coming. Of course United spent money, but when you compare it to the Spanish giants who continue on spending until they hit quality, difference is night and day .
On top of that Pogba gets an unbelievable bad treatment on social media. Fans could call Pogba's attitude ambitious, he doesn't accept mediocrity. We'll see, but i don't think United will be a better team with Longstaff and Fernandes in it instead of Pogba.
Question for you : Has Pogba put in a transfer request? I am guessing not. Mino wouldn`t want any reduction in his "prize" I guess?

Think he needs to go, But looking at the state of that midfield going on Tour it really does show why we cannot afford to lose him.
Instead he gives him more time off and permission to join pre season training late. Well just in time to catch the flight to Australia. Pathetic, that really does sound like weak management to me, treat him the same as every one else or show him the door, don’t give him more time off as though he’s deserving of it.
I think the club is in terminal decline.
