Oh come on! Don't tell me that Maureen will solve all Manchester United problems? It surprises me how many stupid people on Redcafe has joined that bandwagon.
He won't solve most our problems but he will get a team that is functional enough to enter a title challenge and possibly win within two to three years. He will be given more freedom and power at Man Utd then at any club to date, he needs that Chelsea and Madrid politics where always going to cause problems.

A manager alone can't solve every problem. But what he will do is target to sign the players needed to solve the problems... So yeah. Can you see Mourinho coming in and not bringing in a striker, winger and a center back? The problems at youth level aren't really down to the manager these days to fix anyway, but on first team level, Mourinho gives us the best possible chance of winning trophies again of any manager out there. Better then Pep, better then Ancelotti, better then Klopp. Those 3 were the preferred options for many on here of course because of style of football, but none of them are as experienced or as proven in different leagues and taking over different types of teams and being successful/winning trophies in all of those settings.

I voted yes to Mourinho a while ago and my reasons were.

1. He said before he rejoined Chelsea that he wanted to stay somewhere for a long time and create a legacy.

2. He knows the premier league and what it takes to win it

3. He has shown nothing but respect towards our club in the past

4. He has the drive and vanity to try to emulate the legacy SAF walked away with and I believe he would want to try to better this.

5. He would get full control of our club and be in charge of incoming and outgoing transfers.

6.It would be the ultimate ego trip for him.

As long as he bought into the bigger picture which is Manchester United, i.e. he is not bigger than the club, I think he would be the perfect choice to take us back where we belong, and I think he would see it as his last project before retiring / taking a national team job.

Its a league with 2 teams that win the title year after year after year. There are teams in LaLiga that would struggle in the Championship. Mourinho's teams are all about control, the spinning of this via goals scored in a 2 team league is laughable. I find his teams football dull, its always been that way, his whole game is based on the 4 moments of the game principles which is simply all about control. I might be the only one but I never liked the football his teams play, its close to robotic. He takes players with flare and reduces them to players doing a job in an overly structured system. Not for me. There are plenty of other alternatives and the whole idea that there is only Mourinho capable of doing the job is another equally laughable idea being pushed.
They'd struggle in League One imo.

I'm happy Mou managed Chelsea before so he isn't in for a shock like Pep when he has to prepare his tactics for likes of Wayne Rutledge, Mark Albrighton or Steven Naismith. You don't see such quality in La Liga. He won't know what hit him.

For all you know it's just a rumour about LVG's Custis voodoo doll though you have to admire Stoke's chances, guts, pampers, and cor blimey go on Mou poke him poke him. A lot of solid performances and Rooney is posing a threat to Rooney is not posing a threat this heat is killing Steve Mclar you've got to be joking look at his record umbrellas give the man a chance with or without chips, sir? Sir? My current ringtone is Jose saying "he's a specialist in failure" which Blind is loved by Venezuelan hotties yet some people still want to hire Giggs. I am surprised how many people don't fancy Mou though, he's arguably a better manager than Pep, he's been a dominant force in football for years, doesn't always need a limitless transfer budget and hasn't always taken over readily built teams. This recent stint at Chelsea was a really bad one but if he got full control over everything regarding transfers any trouble makers would be shifted out the doors real quick. Feel really bad for Mata though!

BBC kicking off now. Mourinho was always my first choice once he was let go by Chelsea! I think we're better off waiting until the summer though, give him a clean slate instead of landing him in the shit now. He could do with a break too after the Chelsea fiasco.

We'll be league champions in 18/19. ;)

The man is a complete cock! Yes he can fashion a "successful" side that picks up silverware, but at what price?

I hated Sir Alex's pragmatic brand of percentage football in his last few seasons but the man is God so he can be forgiven! We all hate this seasons shite (pre Derby County) United style so why the bluddery feck would we replace Louis' philosophy with like for like?

Chelsea were the master grinders under Maureen, is that what United fans want!? Not this one, I don't want success for success sake. We do not need a circus freak running our great club with his outdated infantile antics & dirty spoiling tactics.

I hate the bastard & his appointment would be a death in the family in this household. It's totally depressing that so many United fans actually want this prick anywhere near Old Trafford.

So it's an emphatic no from me!

This is all a bit harsh on Mourinho to be fair and it looks like your personal bias against the man is clouding your judgement.

You can say all you want about the side that Fergie had before he retired but it's arguably the best side he ever formed and despite playing pretty poor football, the front 3 of Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez were scintillating at times so we forgave it. If Mourinho was to bring that back, I don't think we'd be hearing any complaints from anyone, especially if the success was matched.

And in regards to Mourinho's antics, have people forgotten that SAF had his fair share of 'bringing shame on the club'. The racing horse scandal, getting into fights with the FA or most National Teams, berating referee's, "Typical Germans" etc.

You're got to err on the side of mental if you want to be a genius.

Says his family home is in London and he wants to stay there. That's good enough for me to clutch onto for now....'No to Jose'!
LVG has also said he's unaware of any talks with Jose, and I believe LVG as he seems an honest chap. If the club are going behind his back then it's fecking disgraceful.

Would really be a disgrace if we conduct this behind his back. We'll look like idiots too in comparison to how well City handled their situation. Of course van Gaal still being in a contract would complicate things a bit, but still.

Just because City have done it, doesn't make it right. Anyway, by the sounds of it Pellagrini was aware of the goings on with Pep. LVG clearly doesn't. Personally, I think it's all media bullshit in the build up to today's game. I hope so anyway.
The club should be doing everything to show support of the manager whilst he's in post. If, for any reason they are looking for a successor, then they should let him go. Anything else sends out a bad message to the players, fans, sponsors etc.

Maureen will destroy our beloved club. Look what he did to Chelsea. It's all about ego.

It is absolutely disgusting what he did at Chelsea, who wants success? For me, it's not about winning things, it's about having a lovely manager who we can be proud of and bring home to our mums.

Stupid excuse from a stupid boy. He was Real Madrid and Chelsea's coach and all he did was flop.

His 2nd spell there wasn't really a massive success. 6 months of good performances and 1 league title in a shite league.

Strangely I think we need to give LVG two more seasons. Are we desparate and cheap enough to get a Chelsea coach?
Desperate? Err getting a top3 coach in the world mate!
and Cheap? err probably be paid the most.
