But today, they were great, there can be no moans, the team gave their all, and were a nat's Traveller away from a great win
Exactly right. And even if Ole couldn't see that, what the hell were Carrick et all thinking. It's like he watches a completely different game. Liverpool had switched to a 4-4-2 meaning they had 4 midfielders to our tired three and all their subs were in the middle. Needed Jones to come and be a harrier in midfield to disrupt their fluidity, how he doesn't see that is beyond me. What should have been a comfortable win turns into a nervy 1-1 because the manager's in game management is not up to scratch.
Posts like this from a few a months ago sums you up. Sorry if i don't give your (constantly changing) opinion much value. You don't have to be in the changing room at half time to see the change in tactics in a football game.
Just about sums you up
He has done all of that, but I also think his own interviews are fueling the impression that all he does is to tell the players to go and express themselves. He has refused to take any credit for Rashford's markedly better finishing for example. One hopes of course that behind the scenes the club knows all the work that goes into it and actually does consider him for the position full time.
Good summary as far as I’m concerned. If ole is the man to take us forward we will improve from here! Was great to see Martial back, and AWB, and very soon we will have Pogba and Shaw back too. Then I suspect we will put some good results together and climb up the table. Suspect the worst has passed.
Wow, kudos for digging that up and completely changing the point of discussion. Sorry, but you are not proving anything by showing that I have changed my mind about Ole. He talked a good game when we was interim manager, and he backed it up with his on-pitch tactics and attacking mindest. Since then - 18 games to be exact, half a season - he has been revealed to be an extremely limited manager tactically and in his ability to influence games.Posts like this from a few a months ago sums you up. Both apparently injured. Lingard has been for a few weeks but Ole said Matic has been playing with an injury for a few weeks and couldn't play today.Where was Matic and Lingard today? Dropped? Injured?
It says it all about how Matic has fallen away, that I only just realised when you wrote that!Where was Matic and Lingard today? Dropped? Injured?

I noticed that. Did he even touch the ball. Worst player though was Fred, He was just by passed later in the game, doing nothing except losing the ball.We lost a bit of edge when Martial came on, he just didn't do anything. We lost all the hunger, energy and closing down that Rashford provided, which was unsurprising but disappointing. Lad came on and played like we were cruising to victory.
How?! You began by saying I had an agenda! You started the personal insults.
When Ole first arrived, the team had an intensity about it. Players made more runs, passes were quicker and there was always a desire to score more goals even if the game was won. Barring Chelsea on opening weekend, we have not scored more than 1 goal in any PL game this season. We had an intensity - if not quality - about us today, but that was really because it was against Liverpool. What was the story against Wolves, Southampton, CP, West Ham and Newcastle? Watch us revert to type against Norwich next week: sideways passing, lack of movement, no player busting their gut to get into the box. The truth is that counter-attack is our only effective weapon - which is why we have done okay against Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal and Liverpool. But most teams won't give us that luxury and we will achieve nothing with a singular attacking plan.I doubt Ole is doing much radically different from when he first arrived. The difference is he was winning despite performances being barely different from what we are seeing now, fine margins were going our way during that run like Rojo making a mistake today.
Off a cliff hopefully...Where was Matic and Lingard today? Dropped? Injured?
Poor result in the end. A point does very little for us.
Eh? Does more than a loss when you're one point from relegation zone. Now we're two!
We all know that this won't happen.Encouraged by that performance the lads gave it all. Hopefully we can repeat this kind of guts and passion every week.
There should be a seperate room for the two of you where you can complain and tear down ManUtd.Well observed, thought the same. This is overlooked by desperate fans looking for any positive signs.
Things have just got progressively worse and worse, so any bounce back, however minor, is grossly exaggerated.
I get your point but we have fallen pretty far. I think the point today, anyone would have taken at the start if the game. The important thing now is if we can draw to the *cough* best team in Europe, we should be able to beat anyone. Hopefully confidence starta to come back. So glad to see Rashford scoring a poachers goal.
13th place right now and some fans on here seem quite happy with this.
I know standards have fallen, but people need to wake up.
Look back to the predictions thread, made before the season started. Some people believed we were nailed on for top 4 and now we are in 13th place.
Those people who predicted top 4, need to speak up.
IMO, it's Woodward that needs to be removed from his position.
Then have the next DoF select a new manager who is able to finish in top 4 positions.
13th place after 9 matches. Why am I the only one who finds this unacceptable?
YeahWas a banner flown today?
Who would you replace Martial with from the current line-up?Hence why having Martial back is big for us. Currently opposing teams know that if they shut out Rashford our goal threat is minimal. So having Martial back will help provide another danger. When you look at our squad, only 4 players have scored in the PL this season and one of them is Martial who's been out for most of it.
It's a welcome return back and we do have some fairly decent fixtures in the PL in the coming weeks which on paper don't look too bad. I'll remain positive and think this could be the turning point.
I don’t know, surely looks and feels like glory hunting.Wow, kudos for digging that up and completely changing the point of discussion. Pereira clearly. He's got the attacking threat of a blind squirrel.Who would you replace Martial with from the current line-up?
Martin Atkinson
