Honestly this season is a complete write off and we're all much, much better off mentally and physically for believing that.
Laugh when a goal goes in either for or against us and enjoy the banter of it all and it becomes much more fun to watch.
We are at day zero of our rebuild in the grand scheme of things. We've stripped back to the bare bones. Some (well, many) players left are still not good enough but basically we're stuck with them because they're so shit nobody else will take them and we couldn't get enough in to replace them for whatever reason.
I have zero doubt Ole, Phelan, Carrick, McKenna, the players, Ed, the board, the Glazers, the entire fecking world knows that this squad is nowhere near good enough right now and we're going to get players in to make it better. It's about having a plan in place and sticking with it and hopefully getting it right.
Pochettino won feck all at Spurs, he left Moura out who won them the semi-final and played Kane in the final showing his clear favouritism over merit and I think that lost him the dressing room this season. He's claimed he doesn't need to win trophies and it only 'boosts ego' which sounds like the kind of mentality I want nowhere near my football club. He lost his players, he was lower down the league than Ole, hadn't won an away match since February and is probably angling for the Real/Barça job that he'll likely never get because they know he's not a winner so to all the fans that wish we had him in, you can feck off.
Likewise Mourinho this time last season had fallen out with all of his players, fallen out with the board, fallen out with the media and we watched as the utterly tedious miserable cnut dragged us deeper into despair. He did this at Chelsea and did it at Real Madrid so it was only even gonna end the way it did with us. Even when we were doing well under him we still played fecking abysmal football and parked the bus against our biggest rivals. He wasn't a United manager and never will be.
I don't for a second believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a world class manager and ultimately when the time comes we need to appoint someone that is but given the lack of options out there right now and the clear lack of any evidence that anyone given our current squad could do any better with it we might as well give him time and money to spend. He's shown with AWB, Maguire (mostly) and James that he can identify good players and buy them, let's hope he gets more right because whatever we were trying before led us to end up in the shit we're in right now and clearly wasn't working.
Get in Brandon Williams and get in Mason Greenwood. Love that the youth are taking their chances.
Aside from that, Sheffield United have drawn with both Spurs and Chelsea and beaten Arsenal. They're well drilled, their manager has a clear plan and their players buy into it and work very hard to implement it on the pitch. Even under SAF we'd have struggled to win so fair fecks to them, they're doing well this season and long may such a good approach continue to reap rewards from them.
3-3 was completely unfair to them but because I love my club it's absolutely completely fair.
Their third shouldn't have been given and VAR needs massively sorting out. Whatever part of his arm/shoulder it hit stopped the ball from flying up in the air and set it up for the perfect shot instead. No goal (unless you're Liverpool).
