Ole did well to steady Mourinho's sinking ship (for a while) and helped develop some great young players.
Sadly we've reached as far as the extent of his tactical knowledge (or lack thereof) can take us. He did what he could, alas it wasn't enough, no hard feelings and hopefully the next manager can do better.
Which young player has developed under him? Greenwood is a prodigious talent and he would have come through irrespective of who was managing us. If he had actually brought in the likes of Elanga/Mejbri/Shoretire into the first team set up, you would have had a point.
In the end, as a manager, he had his favorites and wouldn't budge from them even though it was painfully obvious they weren't good enough. Not even giving VdB chances over McT is perhaps as bad a managerial call as I have ever seen. Pissing up millions up the wall with no real improvement to the play on the field is another one of his legacy.
He was absolutely woeful as a manager and even his man-management was made out to be way better than it actually was. He managed to alienate a few players as well.
Good riddance even though it's a month (or 6) too late. Hopefully we get in someone who can coach this team than be just a cheerleader for them. Arm twisting Zidane to come here despite all the evidence so far that he is not interested will be just so us though.
If Zidane is actually being brought in, hope we just give him a 6 month contract to see how it's working out. Try going for Ten Hag then and if he is not willing, wait till the WC and get Enrique after that.
