Barely September and he has 8 goals for both club and country this season.

Goal machine is the apt phrase.

Good cross from Meunier and a good header. Pity we don't have anyone who could cross like Meunier.

He's going to go a long way in contributing to us either winning the league or getting very close. He's an absolute machine in front of goal.

Been saying this from some years, we miss specialists. A player who can cross really well and usually gets in the position to cross with his favourite foot too. Perisic would do wonders for Lukaku.
Even a fullback who can whip in a decent ball would've been good.

It just shows how clinical Lukaku can be when you have good crossers in your team. We need someone who can regularly provide these kinds of assists for him. Another thing I like about Lukaku is his mentality and desire to keep improving. Even if he is having a bad game you will never see his head drop and eventually he'll get his goal. That self belief and confidence will take him a long way I'm sure.

Meunier would be an excellent addition to this team. Hopefully we're in for him next year.

Would be great having him ping those balls in to Lukaku
Isn't he a United fan as well or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?
Yes, I think you're right.

Looks like a decent right back, who I suspect won't get much playing time at PSG with Alves there now.
Yeah he said he'd love to play for us before he joined PSG I think it was.
Time to buy Meunier next summer then.
I’ve always said that one day, I would like to play in the Premier League,” Meunier said.

“I’m very happy in Paris and if I finish my career there, it won’t be a disappointment, far from it. But, if one day, I had to leave Paris, why not?”

“On the other side of the channel, there are the stadiums, the fans, and I’ve never hidden that I’m a big fan of Manchester United, which remains, in my eyes, the real reference in the world of football.”
The quotes came out around the time PSG beat Barcelona 4-0 last season, not sure when he said them though.

Blind assisted 2 and had 2 other brilliant crosses that Promes or whoever it was fecked up. Literally today.

I watched the game, Blind has good crossing technique but unfortunately his lack of pace hurts him. He's our only fullback who has a somewhat consistent crossing technique though.

Perisic is in a good player but incredibly inconsistent with his crossing. He could go 0/9 in one game.

Great finish by Rom for the goal. Really difficult header made to look very simple. So nice to have a foward who's sole ambition is to get between the posts and score goals. No nonsense about wanting to play #10, no desire to run the channels or get involved in the build up, just proper old fashioned CF play

That's right. It's a surprise how many people were dead against signing him.
I was for Lukaku since the get go, even when United weren't in the race for him and looked inevitable we'd be getting Morata and he was off to Chelsea who were just being cheap and waiting for Everton to drop their price which dearly cost them in the end as we all know.

...don't get why people were so misconceived on Lukaku. It was all gloom and doom that he's not 'flashy' or 'skilled' enough or doesn't have the 'build up play' etc etc. Well yeah, no sh!t sherlock that's not his game with all do respect hahah. He's a beast up front, a pure goal scorer, and converts chances more often than not. Sure he's not as showy as a player as others but it was so stupid when people were using that against him and crying/knee jerk reacting like headless chickens when they made no sense at all. Lukaku is a monster truck. Would it be logical to compare the power of a race car vs. a monster truck? No. And vice versa, wouldn't make sense to compare the speed of a race car to a monster truck AKA it made no sense people compared Lukaku to Morata. They both play a totally different style and I for one appreciated Lukaku's play and dynamic prior to him signing. He guarantees goals and that's the fact of the matter. Could care less how one scores them. And the position United were in, it was essential for José to bring some stability in a player like Romelu to add on to the core that's being built. If you wanted a flash and dash player but less conversion/consistency by all means go ahead, not like there haven't been hundreds of players like that before in world football who've come and gone. I'll take the common sense near sure thing goals in Lukaku and a specialist which José thrives on.

From 2016, he scored 16 goals in 19 games for Belgium. This includes 2 goals in Euros and 10 in world cup qualifiers.

Also only Ronaldo (14 goals) and Lewandowski (11 goals) scored more than Lukaku (10 goals) in qualifiers.

Just very happy to have Lukaku in our team to be honest.

Yes, he will have the odd game here and there where he will play poorly and it will look like he can't control a ball, but he has the determination and attitude to really succeed here.

I can see him getting 25 league goals this season.

He does that at Everton, I'm gonna say he gets 30 league goals!

There are very few players who scored 30 league goals in PL, Lukaku should take all the penalties to reach than number.

It's strange for such a good finisher to be so bad at penalties. I think it's mainly because Everton already had Baines who has been taking penalties for them even before Lukaku came. So there was never a need for him to do it. We don't have anyone exceptional so it would be good if he can improve on this and become our main penalty taker.

It would help if he didn't always go for the bottom left corner, its strange because he seems to finish better when the ball is in play and he's surrounded by defenders.

He's world class...

I actually wanted Morata over him in the summer but he fits our team like a glove and he guarantees goals.

I believe he has played like exactly what Jose expect it to be. A pure #9 with pace, power, and finishing. These attributes draw away defenders, opening up space for our attackers.

Remind me of Torres at Liverpool. Pace, power and finishing. Torres, together with Alonso/Mascherano, allowed Gerrard to unleash his full potential. Similarly, I believe Lukaku/Matic/Herrera would unleash Pogba/Mkhi/Rashford/Martial. They complement each other so well. Lukaku needs their service, and they need Lukaku to open up space, etc.

On paper it looks very balanced. We need Jose to put in a system to gel them altogether and develop their team chemistry.

Poor initial finish (might have been a good save, didn't see replay) but good anticipation for the rebound.
