Don't forget Chelsea will feel the need to bring in a big name striker or 2 for him to play second fiddle too.

He's had a very good season. That's how a loan spell should benefit a player - not the luck we've had with loans recently

Though I feel his performance yesterday is causing some serious over-wanking. Great performance, but it doesn't help when it seemed no one, and I literally mean NO-ONE, on our team knew who was supposed to be marking him. He strolled around un-opposed and too shots un-opposed all 2nd half long. Shambolic defending by us, tbf.

But even if you take yesterday's hat-trick away, he's had a very good season. Some further development and in 2-3 years, they'll have some player.

Red Yankee is human scum.
Has he been that good in the rest of his games too? I have hardly seen any West Brom games.

Yesterday was a nothing game really. There was ridiculous amount of time and space available to both the teams. Evans has a tendency of getting bullied by physical strikers and Buttner is a bit shit really. Can yesterday be a basis for anything?

He still scored a hat trick against a central defense pairing of Evans and Jones. Albeit the full backs were great, he did still change the game when he came on with his pace and physicality. He scored 17 goals this season and you have to credit him for that. Not everything was a fluke.

I dont see that that's a real problem. If they get a Cavani or Falcao he can learn a lot from a player like that.

He's still young and over the coruse of a season, under pressure in a bi side he's likely to have good form and bad. Its a lot to expect a young player to lead the line for a side fighting for the title.

He doe look a real talent - ideal for the PL with his pace and power.

If they bring in someone as high profile as Falcao or Cavani, then they surely must sell one of Torres or Ba or send Lukaku again out on loan. Four strikers eyeing for one spot? I dont see that happening.

Another player Chelsea outbid us for and after he said he was definitely not going to a club that would loan him out. :(

Seems to have done pretty damn well this season.

He's a massive Chelsea fan, the minute they went after him it was clear he would be going there.

To be honest, I doubt you had a chance to sign him in the first place. His role model was Drogba and he always wanted to follow in his footsteps. So of course he was going to pick a club where Drogba was playing. He was what 18 when he came here. He would have got far more than he had bargained for if they had started him as soon as he moved here. They did the right thing in loaning him out.

I think Torres will leave. Why would Jose want him if he can have a top player upfront?

Ba could also go if they get a top striker. They didnt pay that much for him and he's not been first choice even with Torres well out of form.

As a 20 year old you're not looking for them to have good build up play or to have good hold up play etc.

At the U-21 levels he will be excelling at each of these, and he has shown it on occasion for West Brom. What you're really looking from a Striker is goals and then to develop each of his other skills as he grows older, and looking at his build and how he played for Anderlecht he should easily become a top striker.

Hoping that he is fecked off with Chelsea's attitude, for me if you own Lukaku and Torres, loaning out Lukaku and buying Ba isn't brilliant business..

Never mind selling Sturridge, who has scored more goals than both of them combined since he joined and is a young, English player.

The issue with that was he wanted to play upfront and made a big song and dance about it.

He's now moved to Liverpool and is still playing out wide.

Seems a decent player but seems to think he's a bit "bigtime". Looks like he could be a class act but needs a decent full season under his belt.

Are you admiring his precocious physical growth or are you really doubting his age even though he was born in Belgium?

Sturridge doesn't play wide for Liverpool does he?

Why didn't our supposedly famous scouting team find this guy before Chelsea?

The fact that we're missing out on these kind of players is a clear indication that the future is going to be blue, not red...

Yeah, and why didn't we sign Messi before Barcelona did? Our scouts are a joke!

 When you compare Manchester United to all the other teams in teh world, they will always sign more players than we do. Of course for all we know our scouting dept. saw him first, it is not like who ever signs a player is the only team that scouted him.

He was absolutely banging them in in the Belgian League, I think he was even top scorer. He wasn't exactly a massive secret.

He was also a Chelsea fan, which gave us a headstart on him. He wasn't cheap either, for a lad of his age.

Even worse, our scouts found him and had a deal in place to sign him. However SAF was unwilling to fork up the $900 a month medical bills to pay for Messi's growth hormone deficiency treatment. Bloody SAF!

You're such a gimp. Lukaku isn't even better than our striker except maybe Welbeck who is a homegrown talent.

Not all his own fault that, Torres was Rafa's little project whilst interim.

Which isn't to say that he might not indeed be sold, after all this is Chelsea we are talking about.

Two good examples of how to loan out a player for the benefit of all concerned though, sometimes the top clubs just use the system to park excess talent which is a damnable waste

Correct. he made his debut at 16 and was topscorer of the Belgian league at 17.

And yes, it's widely known his idol is Drogba and his favourite club is Chelsea (because of Drogba). He was in a tv show (Lukaku's school) when he was still at Anderlecht and going to school and they went on a trip to London with his school, so they visited Stamford Bridge. In that show it was quite clear how big a fan of Chelsea he is.

This guy is truly massive when you stand next to him. I've met him *cough* brag *cough*at a club in Belgium once when he was 18 and he's enormous. Scary to think he was and still is so young and physically a monster. His touch was his weak side, and probably still is, but it has greatly improved this year. He's also very quick.

I like him, he comes across well in his interviews and isn't an absolute cnut on the pitch. He's a very bright, humble and determined person.

The new manager at Chelsea would be silly if he didn't give him the opportunity to shine next season.
