Haha, I'll gladly take a non-CL season for that 7-0 embarrassing, a memory for a lifetime.
This is just another example of the sudden drop of standards at your club that you’ve all just accepted.

Spot on. When my grandkids ask what we were doing while City won the fecking treble I'll tell them "well kids, we beat Utd 7-0. Felt great and that record still holds".

Utd fans will be telling their grandkids "well kids, we finished a marvelous and wonderful 3rd. Cherish it".

Will you also tell them that you were posting on a Man United message board for years?

United also won the league cup. Which was the only bastard thing going that city didn't win

Talk to agents, monitor, prepare bid, be aware of. You name it, longer than two weeks as well, nothing to brag about.
this is just language Twitter ITKs and journslists use to get United’s name involved

I mean do you honestly believe a journalist contacts the club and the club tells them sure we’ve been monitoring the situation for a few weeks now.. it’s kinda ridiculous

Most people havent even heard of Szoboszlai up until now, yet he's supposedly better than Mount.
Well our scouts did. Obviously yours didn’t. More goals, more assists, and on half the wages of Mount. I just think united’s scouting system is obselete at this point and signs players just to appease the supporters.

Jeez it's just banter from the guy. Liverpool fans have been eating humble pie for 30 years. No need to curse his family for harmless talk.
That poster certainly hasn't.

At this moment it's hard to discern which section of fan base is more gullible United's one which believes every United player is paid king's ransom or Liverpool one who believe that their players are paid peanuts and yet both Clubs wage bills are quite similar go figure .

You appeared while Liverpool is doing badly, that's a new. Are you all right?
In what period of time did he have bigger numbers than Mount?
And your scouts discovered him, kudos, its not that he was some hidden gem. Dont you worry about United's scouting system. Appeasing the supporters is great line too. Signing Mount to appease the supporters.

You're usually better than this. Wonder what happened.

Or you can tell them how you've spent 20 years and more wumming on United forum. I bet they'll be in awe.

Look at Liverpool fans going all big like they signed Ferenc fekin Puskas or something.

It was pretty well reported that United, Arsenal and Liverpool were all strongly interested in Mount. This Hungarian fella was second choice after Mount told you to get to feck. Can you blame him?

If Liverpool signed Mount he'd be all about how great he is.

Liverpool fans are hilariously unobjective. "I just think united’s scouting system is obselete at this point and signs players just to appease the supporters." smugness aside, he says this after we just finished 3rd (and won a trophy) and Liverpool finished 5th. Old fella doesn't have a clue.

Have you ever read some posts on redcafe? Noone is appeased by Mount. Though he's twice the player than Szabszblabla.

No we wouldn't, nor am I seeing that about Szoboszlai because 99% of our fans haven't even seen a full game of him, ever.

Mount is a fine signing, albeit expensive for someone with one year left on his deal. He's a good squad addition and will be an added value while you're competing in four competitions (at least before Christmas). But I think we kinda know what he is by now, while Szoboszlai right now has the potential to grow into an elite player. He's almost two years younger than Mount and will have to prove himself in a much tougher league than he's ever played in.

His bust potential is a lot higher than Mount's, but his ceiling is probably a lot higher as well. Remains to be seen whether he can develop properly - I think the likeliest outcome is somewhere in the middle and he wouldn't be a flop if he ends up around Mount's level. That said I do think it's much easier to get excited about his signing than about Mount's.

I get you lot got excited, but going on straight away how much better he is than Mount is a bit strange.
I'm not sure about the much higher ceiling but each on their own.

That's a hilariously short window you're taking into account as an argument. If you look at our performances, league finishes, trophies and signings under Klopp and compare that to Utd, it's not hard to see that we have done a lot better in the last 7-8 years than United.

Even last season we just got fecked by an atrocious start after a draining 21/22 season that ended in disappointment, bound to take a toll on (some) players. I wouldn't be surprised if we picked up more points than both Arsenal and United after the World Cup (or at the very least in the same mould). Given our two signings are in the area we desperately needed improvement in, surely it's not hard to see why we are already optimistic about the new season (also no CL means heavy UEL squad rotation and fresher starters in the league).

I checked reddit, there are so many deluded folks, they really think all of their players are paid 100-150k, somehow their wage bill is as big as ours.

Two years ago when Mason was as old as Szoboszlai is now, he ran the show for Chelsea and had really good goal + assist stats. He also played a key role in the CL final victory and also had an assist.
Szoboszlai would do ridiculously well to reach Mount's numbers in a season, but it's highly unlikely.
I find it a bit amusing how you confidently state that Szoboszlai's potential is a lot higher than Mount's despite not even having done anything worth of note and hasn't even set foot in England while Mount has been a key player for Chelsea and a great player in PL.
Performing in PL is a complete different thing to performing in Bundesliga, as we've seen with a lot of players.

I think Szoboszlai will be around Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's level. Will get some goals and assists, but not really be a key player for a top team.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be optimistic. If you follow what was said, njred was banging the tired drum that United still don't know what they are doing while Liverpool do. That's fecking funny after the season's we both just had. Also, it's not as if United didn't have issues of our own last season.

I'm wary of entering the discussion on this page, but if I had to be in the Europa League this season, but it meant United beat Liverpool 7-0 last season, there's absolutely no way I'd accept the offer.

Big wins like that mean more when they're on their way to a success too, like winning a cup or title. I honestly couldn't tell you who scored or even what month that game was in.
