Apparently it's true. It's a total shambles. Sounds like an Onion Headline
It's a publicist's nightmare, imagine your super famous client slaps a kid on camera and then it turns out the child has autism and was at a game for the first time

only way it could have been more unfortunate is if the kid had leukemia and taking a photo of Ronaldo's right leg was his dying wish

This normalisation by supporters of behaviour that wouldn’t be remotely acceptable in any other profession or walk of life is weird. Sure, it’s not the end of the world, but poor behaviour isn’t binary. It’s still worse than not slapping the hand of a 14 year old for no apparent reason and breaking his property.

Imagine the postman doing that to your child as he passed by to drop in some letters. You’d rightly think he was a lunatic.
My postman donates to charity though so it’s all good.

On a (no serious) note, are the FA investigating?

I’m sure you’ve all seen the footage by now.

The only successful attack we managed at Goodison was on a child with a phone…
What Ronaldo did was out of order, but seeing the abuse received going down Evertons tunnel plus his injured leg and those waving phones in his proximity I am not surprised he did what he did. Players are HUMAN BEINGS, Cristiano must be so frustrated by the the cowards around him and those not willing to even try. I pray he is here next year under Ten Hag with those will to actually bloody try for more than 20 minutes. Those saying Ronaldo is and has been the problem are deluded and need to look at the bigger picture, Jose Mourinho called out those who are still here as gutless, spineless and trouble makers. If Sir Alex was still here 75% of this Squad would have been dismantled, Klopp and Pep wouldn't be able to do anything with these players as there in it for 1 thing $$$.

For the remainder of this season play U21s with Ronnie, Bruno, Sancho, Elanga and De Gea and see the DIFFERENCE with commitment. I give 0 tosses if we lose every game but see us try to the final whistle. This Ronaldo story has been blown so out of proportion. Ronnie would have in the dressing room been disgusted with his reactions but everyone saying his assaulted this kid are jokers, he broke his phone not his hand, wrist or even got a bloody bruise from Ronnies actions. I don't condone what he did but this has been dragged out as the kids mother is seeing money and that is it.

At least the cowards around him didn't take it out on a kid.

Without crass striking out, just with a wiggle of his hips.
i thought the crassest part was inviting the kid to watch a game at old trafford. the poor kid has suffered enough.

Maybe we could try to find the kid's Twitter account and look whether he posted something offensive in the past? Change the narrative?

Messi would have upraded the latest firmware and apps, and recommended a better value for money provider
and told the kid’s dad that it was him that was watching the animal porn in the phone’s browser history.

Where do people find the energy to get all worked up and emotionally invested in something like this. I couldn't care less.

“cris, just do your sit ups. we’ve seen the footage, it wasn’t a 6 foot 4 scouser, with fiery red hair and arms like tree trunks. it was 14 year old kid with special needs.”

The kid sounds like a snowflake. Like the rest of his generation

When I was a kid we would have just shaken hands and moved on

I bet the adrenaline in every postman's vains is pumping so hard they're about to go mad every second. The pressure, the constant camera flashes, etc. Eugh, glad im not a postman.

For all we know that phone could have been hooked up to a bomb in the stadium. Hero Ronaldo saves the day again.

Too much adrenaline to stop himself knocking a phone out of a child's hand, but not quite enough to work sufficiently hard to make any sort of impact against one of the worst sides in the league. It's a fine line he has to tread.
