Yup. It's really not good. People forget how fragile the brain is, and that the skull can take only so many hit.What's also interesting is that there are studies showing that regularly heading a ball can cause head issues/trauma. Can't be too good for the player where he just suffered a head knock and is back to heading balls again 5 min later.
It's really not built to take multiple hits, which is why so many retired NFL players have problems like CTE:

Football is really behind in having the necessary protocol, as @Pogue Mahone mentioned. That just doesn't make sense to me.
