And would that even give us funds to sign him? Have to assume we wouldn’t be getting much for him and might even leave on loan. Hard to believe that deal is difference between us signing Amrabat given reported fee.
Romano was saying if we were able to shift Fred and Donny then we’d make a move for Amrabat. I’m going on the basis that info is accurate but maybe it’s not, it’s hard to know because we still haven’t been able to move Donny on, is the move to Real Sociedad dead?

Imagine if Liverpool agree a fee for him only for the player to turn around and say he only wants to join United.

People writing him off but how many of Klopp's signings at Liverpool were written off by this forum only for them to turn into world class players?

He has this ability to make seemingly average players look world class.

This guy probably won't even start for us. Our XI is set, and the noise is that our major transfer business is completed, pending further sales and then their replacements.

People didn’t want him until Liverpool came sniffing around

Been mixed reports about whether or not they are still interested but sounds like it would be a loan at best so I don’t see how it is difference between us buying Amrabat or not.

Think it’s funny that 3 players are rejecting Liverpool… 2 in favour of Chelsea and 1 in favour of us

You would think he’s having a medical at Liverpool right now. They’ve not even put a bid in yet.

Alabama but always Wales in my heart
This one was always dependent on us selling McTominay anyway, which is looking unlikely now due to our incompetence at selling players.
Initially this was going to be funded by selling Fred but instead of the 25M pounds we were asking for we got stuck with 10M Euro which presumably is not considered to be enough. Donny was always an odd one, he was never going to go on a permanent sale this window due to his lack of game time and injury concerns and his book value is 16M right now so taking a cut price deal would not work for us. I do think the decision to take the money on Kovar alongside the rumors of a permanent exit for Fernandez is a sign that we are trying to raise money through Academy sales which are much more beneficial in terms of FFP and will allow us to bid for Amrabat and potentially one other but even those deals are progressing slowly. If we had an owner like Boehly he would kick in the funds up front knowing the sales would be made but our owners won't sanction a penny being spent until the funds are in their account.

This will be pretty embarrassing if Amrabat ends up at Liverpool.

If things stay as is, you have to seriously question Ten Hag for letting Fred go and only Mount come in. At 31, Casimiro cant play every game. Remember, we had to supliment our midfield with Sabitzer last year.

The way our midfield looked on Monday, we are in desperate need of reinforcements.

Weird how Italian sources are saying Amrabat and then recently, English sources were saying Amadou Onana for double the reported price of Amrabat.

Neither correlate based on price.

is there a club worse run than this one?
Must be some. It has been royally fukced by the Glazers which is weird when you see how much money we actually spent. Better decisions being made these days but it’s been carnage before that.

It wouldn’t need to be set as things stand because you could drive a ship through that midfield three, never mind the other gaping holes in the first 11 (striker, full backs, right wing). Amrabat would start no problem as our midfield can’t compete physically and also aren’t good enough to retain possession as they are not technically gifted enough nor sharp enough.

So he’s going to Liverpool now. Still not convinced if he’s good enough for the PL but we will see now. Hopefully we will get another midfielder in.
