I simply think the quality of squad is more important than the manager, Solskjaer has shown progress in improving it which I hope will continue. Twist it how you like.Okay so basically your that guy. It doesn’t matter who the manager is the board will fail them. So better have a manager you like who looks happy even when we win.
I understand. Each fan is different I suppose. I can’t tell you how to deal with pain.
The Norwegian contingent is very big on here which could explain the ardent support he has.The caf is very much an exception to the overall fanbase. Lots of fans want him out.
I'm confident I'm right. If a majority of fans wanted the manager gone he wouldn't last long be cause the board will be no different. Also the media would be relentless with sack stories playing to the crowd.Have you got access to some top secret worldwide (or even UK) Man Utd fan polling data? Or are you, as I suspect, pulling these statements out of your behind?
Good squads go to waste if they don’t win anything. Even you should know that. People age and leave.I simply think the quality of squad is more important than the manager, Solskjaer has shown progress in improving it which I hope will continue. Twist it how you like.

Stop over reacting to one defeat to a good side.
I think a lot of fans (not all) have gotten used to this mediocrity and forgotten about the successful club that we were not long ago, it's all about needing time, he's improving the squad and we should support the manager etc!said by every uninformed and deluded person ever.
The media is full of Ole's mates and he's delivering exactly what the owners want - CL money with little to no budget (unless we are out of the CL).
And you need to stop patronising people who can clearly see the bigger issue with his lack of style of play, horrendous squad management and inability to get us past a semi-final.
Somehow I don't think 'Ole's mates' stop the press from wanting to generate clicks and sell newspapers. Which they definitely would be preying on if the majority of our fans wanted him sacked.said by every uninformed and deluded person ever.

While I appreciate the larger point you're trying to make, you're picking the wrong target. A loud minority can still be a huge section of a massive group of people. You confuse a loud minority with a 'huge section' of the fanbase.
Absolutely. And stay he will. At least 2 more years for Ole before we can feck up another managerial appointment. No City fans want Ole gone. They want him given a lifetime contract.
Other than sentimental United fans, nobody rates Ole as a manager. City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal etc fans unanimously want him to stay.
Not so sure, everyone felt his time was up after the 3-1 at Anfield. If going by the "matchgoers still supporting xx" angle, we'd still have Mourinho managing us.
Spurs are 3 points off 4th and we are two losses away from 4th. Everything is possible with a OGS team so like you said. Let’s just wait and see.The expectations at the start of the season were top 4 and finishing there more comfortably this time. He's done that and it's quite obvious he'd be getting a new contract.
A manager's performance should be judged at the end of the season for obvious reasons, unless you have reason to believe that the manager is not even on track to complete the most basic objectives - like Mou not finishing in top 6.
Hell, if we win EL and finish 2nd, it'd be our best season by a margin since SAF's final season. And considering everyone knows he isn't getting sacked neither before the end of the season, nor in the summer (unless we somehow drop out of top 4), just get behind the team and the manager
Sure, but then compare our fixtures with say Leicester's and if you believe Spurs are going to finish in top 4, it is more likely to be at expense of Leicester than usSpurs are 3 points off 4th and we are two losses away from 4th. Everything is possible with a OGS team so like you said. Let’s just wait and see.
Yep. People seem to be missing this point when saying give Solskjaer more time to build the team. But the more time you give and don't compete, the more likely players will leave.Good squads go to waste if they don’t win anything. Even you should know that. People age and leave.
Players are brought in every summer, the in and out ratio is the same. If anything, over time, the manager will only gain more players that he's brought in himself, which is only a good thing.Yep. Is Rashford going to hang around forever when he could move to pretty much any club in the world? Will Fernandes be content not competing? Will Shaw be swayed by another big team if we don't start competing soon?
Yes, but replacing someone like Rashford, who will have 1 year left on his contract after next season, wouldn't be easy.Players are brought in every summer, the in and out ratio is the same. Ssshhh. Let them watch and not learn.Yes, but replacing someone like Rashford, who will have 1 year left on his contract after next season, wouldn't be easy.
That is what I'm talking. Some people are assuming that the players will have as much patience as they do. If we don't compete next year, will Rashford start to question his future? It could be a costly venture.
That could be one of the most fundamental building blocks lost. He is our best forward, and one of the best left wingers in the world, despite being so young.
We may lose Pogba already this summer. Losing Rashford next summer on top of that would be really bad.
There's too many options for that sort of poll.Mods, can we have a poll in this thread for renew/not renew/wait till expiry and see.
Surely we have to look at a broader picture? What if we get to a final, play dreadfully and win by a lucky goal? You'll give him more time based on that? Or, what if we play brilliantly and are unlucky to lose, would you let him go based on that?Regardless of the league position, if he doesn't win anything, he has to go. When it matters the most and we're up against good managers, we always end up with a loss.
How about renew/not renew/sack fergie, sell giggs/eboue?There's too many options for that sort of poll.
Extend his deal on the same/similar terms now, or in the summer depending on league position and Europa results.
Offer an improved deal now, or in the summer.
Wait for his deal to run into its third year and see how we perform next season, before deciding what to do.
Superb postThe Glazers will never sack Ole if they can avoid it, they've got just the man they want someone who will never talk up against them to the press or make a fuss about not being backed, the only way they would sack him would be if he lost the dressing room or if the majority of the fanbase turned against him.
Ole is in roughly the same spot Jose was the summer before he was sacked. Second in the league but playing bad football and a large portion of the fan base not sure. Then Jose wasn't backed, and he sabotaged the team to get sacked, difference is if Ole isnt backed I dont think he will react.
Yeah I know it will get me branded a plastic and told to feck off and support City/Chelsea but we really are turning into sentimental Utd old boys FC very quickly, I was a match going fan myself in 10/11 as had a ST back then and if I still was then sorry but would feel exactly the same about Ole being manager as I do.A lot of people on here seem to live in a bit of a bubble when it comes to Ole. If I had to estimate I’d actually say a slight majority of fans want him out.
Nonsense, Jose wasn't backed because his decisions were all based on short term goals and were proving disasterous and expensive (Sanchez). He didn't raise defense as a problem area but changed his mind in the summer and given his poor track record the club wisely didn't back him. Ole has been backed so far and his decisions are in the long term interests of the squad and club. The Glazers will never sack Ole if they can avoid it, they've got just the man they want someone who will never talk up against them to the press or make a fuss about not being backed, the only way they would sack him would be if he lost the dressing room or if the majority of the fanbase turned against him.

He's in the top 3 for quite a while now and has maintained some good distance on 4th considering how tight the league is after City. I think every manager (Pep aside) right now look like they can go on a bad run.Spurs are 3 points off 4th and we are two losses away from 4th. Everything is possible with a OGS team so like you said. Don’t get me wrong we will get top 4. Everyone around including us are inconsistent. But Chelsea’s form will take them above is. What form though? They drew to Southampton, they drew to Leeds and to Wolves. We've lost one in god knows how many league games. In fact you speak of form which refers to recency - they've drawn 3 and won 2 of their last 5.Don’t get me wrong we will get top 4. Everyone around including us are inconsistent. Alright mate. What form though? They drew to Southampton, they drew to Leeds and to Wolves. We've lost one in god knows how many league games. In fact you speak of form which refers to recency - they've drawn 3 and won 2 of their last 5.
It's a genuine question, what form?Alright mate.
I don’t understand why this needs explaining. They’ve moved from 8th to 4th. Knocked out Atletico Madrid, in an FA cup semi final. It's a genuine question, what form?
In the 14 games since tuchel has taken over, W10 D4 L0. They were 9th in the league, they are now 4th. Progressed to both QF of the Champions League and SF of the FA Cup. He’s been manager less than 3 months but I’d say that’s 3 months of pretty good form. It's a genuine question, what form?
