Tough luck mate, I really think the margin shouldn't be as big and it's just that my team is really fit to counter your side, but you have a quality team.
Is there a dearth of good right backs as opposed to left in this draft?
Ok, dont know where the thread for this to go is so i will post it here.
What about for the matches, you introduce a "choose your own adventure" element to it ... bare with me.
Say each team gets 5 significant chances a match for example ...
"Laudrup gets free of his marker and faces up the defender, does he ..."
Then give the manager a choice of
A) Slips a ball to the outside
B) Plays a ball on the inside trying to find a run
C) Takes on the defender
You get the choice from the attacking manager and the defending manager gets three different choices.
A) Read the ball to the outside
B) Reads the ball inside
C) Attempts to tackle Laudrup
If both managers pick A, B or C then the attack is stopped and possession is turned over if they differ then the attacking team moves on to the next phase of the chance and similar choices are posed. it is done in 3 stages so Pass/Dribble. Pass/Dribble then the shooting phase.
If a goal is scored it gives an supplemental +2 votes to that team.

It's an entirely different proposition. I like it, as it reminds me of New Star Striker, a game that functioned on that premise. The entire drafting side of things becomes pretty irrelevant though.
Pretty much. It can be formed into a completely different sort of forum game, however, which would be cool to see.
@Stobzilla the problem I see with it is that if Laudrup is being marked by Pantsil, or he's marked by Desailly doesn't matter really, both defenders stand the same off chance of winning the duel which doesn't really makes sense. Same goes for attacker
Laudrup chose to dribble the defender.
Pantsil chose to tackle Laudrup.
Pantsil's shorts fell down and he tripped over.
Laudrup goes through on goal.

Seems like Tuesday is most convenient for sajeev, which is fine by me as well.

within each group, the list will be randomized
So it would look something like.

There will be 2 reinforcements after every knockout round. Details will be revealed when the time comes.
Not sure how big of an advantage getting 8 and 9 is vs 1 and 16.

Don't know where to mention this but I watched the complete footage of the 4-0 Milan win over Barca in 1994. All I can say is wow, I'd only ever watched highlights because I couldn't come across the 90 min video. Desailly is tremendous at DM, an absolute monster of a player.. Donadoni a livewire on the wing and Savicevic - as expected an absolute menace on the counter. Romario was non-existent in a way Fat Ronaldo could never be even on a bad day purely down to his lower level of physicality.
It would be nice if us Drafters had a thread or even inbox conversation where we can share old matches together or discuss them as a group. Not sure about some of the ages of the guys who take part in the drafting but I assume some are commenting on players we only have highlight footage of (i.e. the younger ones amongst us), it really does make a huge difference when you see a player across the 90 minutes across a few games.

Each person gets 2 picks in a snake format. You will get 8 and 9. KPS 1 and 16. You are better off imo
