Trump promises 'big things' will overturn election before Electoral College meets

This is the guy who - back in March - said that Covid-19 cases in the USA would be down to zero in a few days.

He's big on big promises, but tiny on delivery.

Add this one to the list. He'll probably slink off to Mar-a-Lago.

It will be wonderful come 1.21.2021 when his tweets will hopefully be removed or deleted & his account suspended for batshittery like this.

Twitter should change that banner to "This claim about election fraud has no basis in truth." To say it's disputed suggests there's some reasonable counter-claim, which isn't the case.

It's funny that Twitter has a policy that it is okay to tell dangerous lies if you hold an office of great power were your dangerous lies actually help influence milkions of people, but not ok to tell this dude in office to suck a bag of dicks.

Tim or Tom or Scott or whatever that yuppie cnuts name is, is a true paragon of justice.

Jack, that's it, jack.

Very true. The wording lends a certain modicum of credibility to the tweet.

Imagine spending a decade in med-school, further decades devoting your life to medical research and then being fired from your job for questioning one of the dumbest and nastiest pieces of shit on the planet.

I think we've just seen the high-water mark for Trumpism - it will gradually decline from here. The next 4 years will see the GOP consumed by vicious in-fighting. And Trump himself will decline further, both mentally and physically, but now without the Presidential bully-pulpit to amplify his rantings.
This sums up Trump's tenure, both of these ideas are reasonable and they are less than a week apart.

I hope so. I hope Biden re-hires all these good people who've done nothing wrong and yet have lost their careers. He was brave to speak out.
This cat apparently is a full time doctor with GW University, so he should weather this fine, but you are spot on regarding the myriad of other Americans in government who have had their careers stalled or upended due to this jackass. I remember Andrew McCabe got ousted from the FBI mere hours before his pension would have kicked in, that was sheer pettiness on the Orange Twat’s cabal to do such a thing (thankfully McCabe fell backassward into a sweet book deal, but that is not the norm for all the mid managers who were screwed like McCabe).

The fact that the loyalists are not allowing Biden transition officials to meet with current DoD counterparts is unconscionable. There needs to be mechanisms in place that allows for overriding shameless raw partisan actions like these.

It was laid bare in the 9.11 Report that the poor transition from Clinton to W (mainly due to W’s staff not giving the time of day to the Clinton transition team) was a critical component in allowing 9.11 to happen. Even clear warnings from the Clinton team regarding al Qaeda were dismissed by the W transition team who were far too of Cold War mentality to understand the danger radical Islam posed to the country. Even W himself admitted as much late in his tenure, that a more seamless & better received transition by his side could have done wonders for the country & he did what he could to ensure that the same errors weren’t made in the transition to the Obama admin.

It is frightening to envision what might be ignorantly or purposefully screwed up by the outgoing Trump admin to try to get an own on the Biden admin. Thankfully, world travel is massively curtailed now which helps to blunt an international terror attack, but the current admin is probably overlooking a groundswell of domestic terror plots & probably gives little to no shits about it.

Republicans are fecking scum, and that's as politely as I can put it. They only care about getting there by any means possible and then they are incompetence personified. They are eerily similar to early 30's Nazi party, lying cnuts with a gullible minority to push the delusion. If they could execute Democrats for trump they would gladly do it.

I wouldn't say all of them, but it appears like most of them are. If it was all that would include the state officials and all republican judges that at least so far have not broken the law.

Point taken. But if they had gone along with this mass delusional we would be looking at step one of a dangerous dictatorship. Elected Republicans on a national level have been a disgrace. Biden said dozens of them have accepted his win with a lot calling him to congratulate him but publicly they stay silent. Republicans in the Senate could have put this down 36 court cases ago yet here we are, $470 million and counting in fund raising on false pretences.

I wonder what the process is at Twitter HQ for labelling Trump's tweets. If it were me, if he mentioned the election once, I'd slap a warning straight on it as it's bound to be a lie. No need to fact check the orange clown when his record of lying about the election is 100%

The closer Republicans come to incriminating themselves in a court of law or embarrassing themselves in their chosen profession, that’s where the divide occurs. That’s where common sense starts to prevail.

But, there’s tens of millions of Republicans that fall into the category @GiddyUp is describing. Thankfully very few of them are in positions of power.

Just 10% of Republicans in Congress have so far acknowledged Biden's win.

Here we are, more than a month after the election. It's far worse than a mere disgrace. It's craven cowardice and deceit.

The percentage will probably flip in a week once the electoral college certification gives these gimps some cover.

But, you’re right, it’s simply a disgrace that we are here right now.
Or they’ll backhandedly “accept” that they can’t do anything about the electoral college voters now that they have met, but vow to work to “improve the security of elections” and use this as the “justification” for a whole host of new voter suppression laws.

So sad. Guess there was not a lot of attention given towards Trump.
