Big Ben Foster
Correctly predicted Portugal to win Euro 2016
Guess the joke's on me for having had any faith in Arsenal
HmmmmYou think Arsenal will regress to winning just over half our games in the second half of the season?
This is based on pure hopium.
HmmmYep, the go to line when you know you are wrong.
All I did was double Arsenal after 18 games, with 20 to play.
I will explain to you slowly so you can follow the goal.
After 18 games Arsenal are 47 points
I said responding to a poster who thinks Arsenal will get less than 80 because thats what happened when Neville was playing. Again because I know you have just replied to the last bit I will give you context what the poster said.
"It's more a case of Liverpool and City's 90+ point seasons embedded into our brains. Neville had a point when he said this feels like a season from his playing days."
In Neville days - we won the title in 2011 with 80 points because for some reason 90+ is unachievable so we cant take when Neville won it with 90.
So in 20 games I said Arsenal could end up with 94 points. If you subtract 94 - 47 = 47 points in 20 games. I did not say identical.
So in 18 games Arsenal have 47 and I said after another 20 they could easily get another 47 points.
In the last 3/5 seasons the team that has won the league has got within 5 points of what they got in 19 games.
So where has the goal post moved?
Here you go @justsomebloke @Berbaclass
Evidence, Arsenal have the 4th best start ever to a PL campaign after 18 games. This is the reason I think they win the league.
Look at all the teams who have had the similar starts, they are all hitting around the 90 point mark
Hmmmm
Hmmm
They might hit 90. It'll be a stretch though. They are missing 1 player through injury tbf
Saliba is their VVD?They might hit 90. It'll be a stretch though. They are missing 1 player through injury tbf
Both 2018 and 2021 were very obviously easier. They were 16 and 13 points clear at the same stage of the season, respectively. No offence to Arsenal but I did say a few weeks ago this season's league title has been the easiest one for Pep in the last five years.

I disagree that it is an easy race, and still not yet finished, but… Did you still just try to make this years title race about Liverpool? No offence to Arsenal but I did say a few weeks ago this season's league title has been the easiest one for Pep in the last five years. Arsenal's half way 47 points were phenomenal for sure but Pep never aims to win the Christmas battle - he has zero interest in that.
This season Pep knew quite early Klopp was no challenge so took his own foot off the pedal. He knew Arsenal are no battle-hardened Liverpool and would have a serious dip through mental fatigue and pressure. As has been the case.
Thanks to Klopp, Pep could focus on the CL and "bed in" a new system with Haaland and without Sterling. Remember, Redcafe was saying Haaland had broken City's style of play?

This person does not exist but i feel your point relies heavily on hindsight.Had we only won 1 of those 3 draws i don't think Pep would consider this campaign a smooth cruise that he always knew he was winining. I agree that we were always going to dip but most people were looking at Newcastle/Brighton type of teams, not Southampton.Yep they were. 2017/2018 just falls out of the 5 year scope. And 2020/21 was a horrendously injury full season (we were playing the equivalent of Phil Jones and Maguire for the majority of it ).
Arsenal have had their full squad uninjured and fresh for the most part, the likes of injury prone Xhaka, Martinelli, even Saka managed to play for the majority of the season. Still not enough for Pep to think about holding two fingers to the sky and he could freely change his style of play to accommodate Haaland with no real damage done.

It makes sense given Liverpool have been the only other well run and coached team but have nowhere near the obscene wealth that City doThis will be a third title in a row for City. Pep breaking all the records.
The only teams that have won the title in his time were Liverpool and Chelsea, and look how drained Klopp is.
City to drop 5 points out of 12 and Arsenal none is not happeningStill life in this race? Got a hunch City won't win their remaining games. Everton and Brighton away will be tricky.
Arsenal will be kicking themselves that they didn't beat West Ham nor Southampton.
It's definitely still on even though City need to drop 5 points. Next week is the big chance for City to lose focus as they prepare for the Madrid second leg. Brentford and Brighton are both difficult away fixtures as well. If they do win next weekend though, it's probably over.Still life in this race? Got a hunch City won't win their remaining games. It’s nearly completely over. Obviously always a possibility. Need a draw and a loss out of their last 4 games, which would be a collapse on their end.Still life in this race? Got a hunch City won't win their remaining games. Everton and Brighton away will be tricky.

Stranger things have happened but at least it seems they need to work for the title.City to drop 5 points out of 12 and Arsenal none is not happening
Arsenal won't drop points for the rest of the season. City might because they have one eye on the CLCity to drop 5 points out of 12 and Arsenal none is not happening
Title race is over but Arsenal need to finish the season strongly as often the momentum carries into next season.
Sadly I think Chelsea will win it.If Man Utd Women win the WSL will be a bigger achievement than City winning the Premier League, it would probably attract a bigger trophy parade as well.
Sadly I think Chelsea will win it.
I wouldn't mind that.Ive got a feeling you'll take points off Chelsea and hand us the title
City will make it nervy but get the job done in the end. Similar to how they drew 2-2 to West Ham last season and then went 2-0 down to Villa on the final day of the season.Still life in this race? Got a hunch City won't win their remaining games. Everton and Brighton away will be tricky.

You probably even believe that in your head, don't you?No offence to Arsenal but I did say a few weeks ago this season's league title has been the easiest one for Pep in the last five years. Let's face it, City would have spanked them even if they had played their best XI. When City win the league, they can thank Arsenal for letting two-goal leads slip in consecutive games and failing to beat the 20th side at home. When City win it, they can thank West Ham for rolling over for them. By there supposed Ill players .. Well done let's see if there plan pays off on Thursday night?
Maybe when Utd fielded weakend sides after they won league titles it was up roar. West Ham can do it so they can have fresh players for Europa conference and its fine? Same 4 or bad but fit for Sunday. ?Let's face it, City would have spanked them even if they had played their best XI. I definitely see City dropping points. They'll not be fully concentrating on the match and Goodison has never been easy for them. Think they'd take the draw.Sun could be interesting. City's form aside. Everton at home knowing a win will most likely keep them up
