It's just an example. Chill out. Like it's the most ridiculous thing ever. Unlikely maybe. Deluded hardly. Name me another English international attacking player that you could buy for less? None. zero. Nada. They may be forced to sell Erikson who knows. Doesn't have to be Tottenham. Even Shakter donesk managed to get 50 for fred.Imagine being this deluded
Such as?It's quite astonishing how the clueless bald muppet has managed to tie up so many duds on long term deals.
I think a lot of our onfield trash performances stem from a dressing room discord regarding salary levels.Whilst the Club needs a radical shake up and restructure this summer it needs to totally revamp the contract situation.I've been mulling over a way to better manage salaries in football in general. It got me thinking of a salary taper. e.g. Instead of a flat £175k salary, start in Year 1 with £200k, Year 2 £175k, Year 3 £150k, Year 4 £125k.
If you perform well in year 1 you earn an extension and a reset to £200k (or maybe more). However if you don't perform, you are set for a pay cut. This would serve several purposes. Firstly it would motivate players driven by money, both in joining where they get a United premium and ongoing in order to maintain it. Secondly it reduces salary at the discretion of the club, they can decide to renew or not. Thirdly, successive under-performance ensures that the player's salary is closer to market rate for their level, meaning that if you sell you will not get ruined on the transfer fee.
Just a thought really and would most likely require collective application in the league to implement. I'd be interested to hear suggestions from others on how contracts could be managed differently.
Smalling Martial Jones to startSuch as?
Rojo is pretty obvious one aswell, signed new 4 year deal last year when he wasn't even a regular starter.Smalling Martial Jones to start

Herrera apparently wanted 200+k a week. We also need to get rid of these mediocre players who want to take advantage of Woodward's weird sense of loyalty (Rashford is another who apparently wants wages that far exceed his ability). Herrera looks good among the crap that is most of the rest of the squad, granted, but he wouldn't start at any club better than us.True we do offer long contracts to poor & injury prone players (Jones/Young)
Yet we also have a problem in offering contracts to the right players such as Herrera. I’m so gutted he’s gone as he’s actual quality & you could tell he loved the club yet we’ve somehow transpired to lose him
Because he is taking up a spot that would be better served with a young player who is cheaper but with strong upside.Don't get it, why anyone want Mata out ? He doesn't play as a guaranteed starter. He's happy with a bit part role and playing on occasions. He never complains of the bench, has great relationship with teammates and fans and can offer some quality from time to time. He's a great squad option to have. I'll only want him out if he's playing as a regular starter or asks for it but he doesn't.
Agree with the rest of squad option but Mata is a good one to stay. The rest should be offloaded.
That was an old post from several months ago. I changed my mind now and honestly don't care about anyone leaving.Because he is taking up a spot that would be better served with a young player who is cheaper but with strong upside.
Mata is good people but every spot that has a player that doesn’t contribute to a legacy plan is a wasted spot and wasted wages.
Mata has no long term future at United or at least he shouldn’t and he doesn’t fill a stop gap measure.
Much better to get a younger player the minutes that Mata gets to allow them to develop rather than keep him.
Aside from the fact that we're spunking decent wages on deadwood, what kind of message does it send to the considerable number of underachievers we have in the squad? Doesn't matter how average you've been, there'll always be a spot for you here. Young, Jones, Rojo, Darmian and Mata should all have been gone by now.City and Pool are letting their deadwood leave on a free. We are giving our deadwood big extensions. The gulf will only get bigger.
I don't think you can include City in there, as it's pretty likely they're being paid a second wage off the books - as per those leaks. Some of notable players weekly wages
Kane --- 200K
Deli Ali --- 100K
Eriksen --- 80K
B-Silva --- 120K
Sterling --- 180K
Mane --- 100K
How come clubs like Spurs,City,Pool manage to tie down contracts for top players on a such low weekly wages?
I think City really progressed in right direction by not offering Sanchez loads of cash and put a cap on salaries while negotiating the deals of current players.
Some of these figures are out of date. Sterling just signed a new contract at 300K. Mane just signed a new contract as well. Eriksen is so low because he has refused to sign a new contract and only has one year left. Some of notable players weekly wages

Reminds me of when the Caf was overjoyed to see Inter taking Young off our hands and the club then tried to give him a new contract to get him to stayHe’s considering other options apparently from abroad
I vaguely get the logic. Every team needs an ok player who will never be a first teamer but can cover various positions. If Ole is purely looking at numbers (who will be my 3rd choice RB if two get injured, who will be my 5th choice CB in an injury crisis etc). And for the relatively low wages he's probably a good shot.Makes no sense to extend TFM. Turning 23 and entirely mediocre and nothing more than a reserve level player. Hope he takes the offers elsewhere, I don't get why we just extend everyone for no reason.
