How much longer will he stay at Arsenal? He's 65 later this year, will he fancy a crack somewhere else before he's too old? I'm sure he's turned down a few opportunites but maybe an international job?

A lot of nice tributes in that Daily Mail link.

CESC FABREGAS

2003-2011; 303 appearances, 57 goals

I just want to say congratulations. You made such a big impact on so many players’ careers, especially on mine. I owe you everything.

That tacked-on 'tribute' by Ashton is so pathetic & self-serving that Mediawatch is certain to pick it up.
The other week he wrote about how Ozil was stealing a living at Arsenal (article was written before the 2nd Bayern match even ended) yet this week when talking about Spurs talked about how their new players need time and how Spurs are overachieving!

Like the Daily Mail just trying to grab attention rather than write anything of any substance.

Has his time run up? Every season its just the same thing over again. Arsenal haven't realistically challenge for the the title in a very long time. I think next season should be make or break for him.

The board love him and his vision so its unlikely they will put any pressure on him, the only way i see it changing is if they spend big over the summer and they still see no returns.

Twitter seems to have exploded with rumours that he's retiring at the end of the season.

More than likely bollocks though.

He cancelled his press conference and people are basing it on that.

There's definitely some proper dressing downs going on though. The Arsenal players via twitter and facebook have been noticeably silent.

Genuine question, why does this happen every February and March?
March, in terms of league form, bizarrely, is one of Wenger's best. November is traditionally far worse.

It's poor season management, generally. It's a lack of comprehension that the season hits its peak in terms of difficulty now. You have to maintain fitness over the course of the year. We're burnt out. We haven't peaked at the right time. That's an issue with the fitness staff and the management staff too.

Where's Diaby? Seriously. He's been missing for a year and he's still pocketing 60k/pw. He's like a worse version of Anderson

Nope, Diaby is miles better. He's just way too injury prone.

Hope the rumours of Arsene going are true.

Diaby will be back next season for the game at Anfield to avenge our 5-1 defeat this season.

You want him to leave?

What is happening right now is due to us being without Theo, Ramsey, Ozil & Wilshere. The first three in particular helped paper over our other positions we are weak in but without them we don't have much in reserve.

Yep, I want him to leave. I have a big respect for him, but him going would benefit us immensely. If it is true I just hope it isn't for health reasons or something like that.

I was listening to a podcast that called him out as a coach/manager BEFORE the mauling and some good points were made. I'll list them tomorrow.

You can't be sure as he hasn't signed a contract but I don't think he'll leave over this match. IMO if he isn't sure then he'll wait till the season is over and will assess things then.

If he does leave and you're looking to replace him with some good old Scottish stability and longevity, then we know just the guy!

amen. There is not a single manager that can step into Wenger's place if the club were to get rid of Arsene.

There really is no one better for Arsenal and their situation.
how do you know until it happens?
A new manager might come in and actually make Arsenal more consistant in winning trophies instead of specialists in failure with a cup win every few years

You do have to wonder when he'll step down now, looking at how old and frail he looks.

Congratulations Arsene Wenger. Since United and Arsenal stopped being rivals, I've really come to like and respect the man and he doesn't deserve half the abuse he gets. Might not be as good as other managers but he's as classy as they get. Proper gentleman.

I'm quite pleased for him. I reckon he'll stay at Arsenal now and I can see them spending big in the summer.

It's a shame the drought is over but oh well.
